Our Bible school that endeavors to train lay people in how to understand the Bible & be able servants of the Lord used this book as a foundation for a class. The class was the New Testament church.

This book happens to be one of the best of the authors. From the principle between the book to the philosophy of NT church, it rung the bell. The overarching theme is that we do not need to think of some new thing when God has already given a right gift in the church itself. Do not remake what is not broken, just do it the way that God intended.

I have personally heard him often speak about a pioneering church. It literally changed the direction of my life. I highly recommend this book.

Clarence Sexton has a way of explaining what could be complicated topics in simple terms. In this book, he breaks down the different aspects of the first Century Church, which we find mostly in Acts, and shows how those things need to apply to us today. He makes the case that we do not need to modernise our beliefs or operations, even though our tech and worldly understanding has changed. Rather, like the new Testament Church, we should use the tools available to us for God's work God's way! Excellent read and great Sunday school material!
