i enjoyed taking retreat through this book and some direction from the good people at Boston College. The book alone is enough guide to do retreat on one's own or as part of a group. It has daily readings and uses lectio, imaginative prayer, and principles of examen. There are added thoughts and reflections as well as many reflective questions that help guide you. Each week has a new theme and it is similar to doing the 18th annotation.

Spent twelve weeks reading this in a retreat through my son’s Jesuit high school. The experience was truly amazing. I felt safe, secure, welcomed, interested, surprised, humbled, and loved by all of the members of the group.
The authors of the material were incredible—many times I was thinking something after reading a scripture and they’d write about those very specific things I was thinking on the next page! They also used humor throughout the book which I appreciated.
I’ll miss the “class” and I will absolutely read more about St. Ignatious and other Catholics.
