Hi! My name is Megan and it’s been three months since I’ve found a dead body.

At first, the most recent death in our cozy little town had nothing to do with me. The police said the poor man had a heart attack and lost control of his car.

Spoiler alert: It wasn’t a heart attack. It was murder.

Why did it have to happen in front of my yarn store? And why do I keep discovering dead bodies like it’s a hobby? I’d ask a therapist, but it turns out it was the local therapist who wrapped his car around the lamp post in front of my store.

And now, someone is stalking me on my laptop, cell phone, and tablet.

Are they trying to use me to get away with murder? Or are they using technology to hunt their next victim?

The police aren’t convinced that my stalker and the therapist’s murder are related, but I know if I find the stalker, I’ll solve the murder.

With help from my friends, I’m determined to solve this. There’s no way I’m going to jail or to my grave before I finish knitting this cashmere cardigan. And the first time I wear it won’t be to my own funeral.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the way the story kept twisting on you and every time you started to suspect one of the characters it went in a different direction. There is a lot going on and with a number of possible suspects it certainly was entertaining. The mystery worked well and with a different murder weapon and cyber stalking it was unusual for a cosy mystery. All that was great but what I really liked was the small town feel to the story and the characters. I loved all the little old ladies cooking for the burly detective while he is running a yarn shop but the other characters are just as interesting, including the dogs. Don't let the idea of a yarn shop put you off this fun mystery because you don't need to know how to knit. This is book five and I think the series has just gotten better .
Megan is on good turns with her ex husband, in fact her new boyfriend is even good friends with him. So when she and Eric are invited to met his new girlfriend they don't hesitate to go. A few drinks and a missing phone lead the new friends to finding a crashed car in front of Megan's yarn store. Did he have a heart attack? The dead man turns out to be a psychotherapist who has a number of connects to the two couples and when the autopsies result come back, Eric is taken off the case. Roles are reversed and Eric works in the yarn shop while Megan asks questions of her friends. When she gets technical problems with her new computer Megan discovers some very unlikely suspects. But which one killed him? Things get even more complicated when a connection to Eric turns out to be the dead man's new and secretive girl friend. The results to finding the killer is going to turn the town up side down but can Megan and her friends unmask the killer before anybody else gets killed?
I liked the narrator. Other than Eric who talked to slowly she did a good job with the voices.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

4 Star review Son Of A Stitch (Knitorious Murder Mystery, Book 5) by Reagan Davis

Audio Review:

Both the author Reagan Davis and narrator Zim Avaltrades are new to me. This is a cozy mystery and one that I found entertaining. I enjoyed the story and as time permits I will be looking at the other books in the series.
This was a book filled with enough secrets and clues to keep you guessing until the end.
There were twists, turns and surprises in Son Of A Stitch as Megan, her boyfriend and other friends follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise.
I did have trouble relating to the male voices that the narrator used but her female voices were fine and overall I just pushed through it. I really liked the characters and it was good to see that the characters were more mature.

I want to live in Harmony Lake

Even though people have been dying left and right for the past year, I still want to live in Harmony Lake. They have nosy neighbors, independent businesses, an awesome LYS, and a dog-friendly atmosphere. Megan, Eric, and Adam find their lives taking new directions over Thanksgiving weekend, and the whole town is involved. PLUS, there's new yarn that I wish was not fiction!

I received and ARC for this book but my review is entirely voluntary. I've only read the last three books in this series but to me the just keep getting better. In latest what appears to be and car accident actually brings murder practically to Megan's front door at Knitorious. With a long list of suspects, including many close to Megan and Eric, this murder may be their most difficult to solve. The introduction of new characters who fill in backstories and/or have the potential to be ongoing characters was very interesting. I love all the returning characters and seeing how their personalities and relationships evolve. With each book I feel like I'm returning to visit friends. I love the author's writing style and Megan's sense of humor. I highly recommend Son of s Stitch to mystery readers. Do not be put off if you have not read the series, this book can stand alone but you will want to catch up on the rest of the series.

I listened to this. It is set in Harmony Lake, Canada. The murder and investigation were interesting with plenty of twists and turns. We deal with topics such as client confidentiality, inappropriate relationships in the medical field, blackmail, and big box take overs of small towns.

Megan meets Jesse, Adam’s girlfriend on a double date with Eric. On the way to the car, Jesse & Megan find a car wrecked near Knitorious. The driver is dead. The investigation begins as they need to find out if it was natural causes or murder.

Plenty of subplots and the resolution let’s one of the suspects come out smelling like a rose.

I like how the relationships in this small town are progressing and I enjoyed learning more about allergies leading to anaphylactic shock.

This cozy has a sense of being more mature than some of the others.

This series is so much fun! A local therapist is found dead. Could he have been murdered? It seems like there are a lot of local people involved in the circumstances surrounding his death. And there’s a lot going on close to home involving Megan’s boyfriend and her soon to be ex husband. Megan and the other characters are enjoyable. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments throughout the story. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was easy to listen to and the characters were represented well.

EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! Another fantastic book! The story was wonderful and entertaining read. Megan and Jess are walking toward the back of the parking lot when they notice a car that hit a light post in front of the Knitorious. Who was in the car and why did this happen? As Megan starts to investigate she stumbles across some shady information and doesn’t know who to believe. Now, someone is stalking her on her laptop, cell phone and tablet. Will Megan identify the murderer or will she be next?

This is a perfect cozy mystery with just the perfect amount of mystery, intrigue, quirky characters, and adventure that will keep any reader completely engaged. The book kept my attention and interest throughout its entirety so much I had a hard time putting the book down. I thought the mystery was engaging and had many twists and turns till the end. Excellent character development led to realistic characters entwined with a well-developed plot that leaves you guessing who the actual murderer really was. I continue to grow very fond of the characters, they are phenomenal, in this series, and I love how their interpersonal relationships have progressed over time. Sophie was a hoot as usual, and I enjoyed how she protected Meg from the murderer. I also really love trying to figure out who the murderer is along with Megan as she tracks down the killer and the clues.

If you like cozy mysteries with a bit of humor, small-town Canadian life, a hint of romance, a close circle of quirky, lovable characters that you wish you knew in real life, dogs and cats then the book is for you. Highly recommend!

I received this book as a beta reader for an honest opinion.

I love this series of books. This latest one, Son of a Stitch, does not disappoint. It touches on political corruption without getting too bogged down in politics. I love how Megan has matured over the series and Sophia is outstanding at the end of the book. This is a well-written book that I hated to see end.

So good!
It will definitely help to read this series in order though, as the relationships continue to develop through each story. The mystery in each is very different, however, so don’t worry about them being repetitive.

Oh what a twisted web we weave when we set out to deceive. Can’t get much more twisted than the characters in this book. When the people you trust and/or admire are liars and thieves you tend to lose your sense of self. People can get greedy and mean. I love the development of the characters in this series. Each book flows from one to the next. And I am really enjoying myself!!!

Another fun, thrilling story with Megan and Sofie. The characters are a perfect match for this fun filled series. There’s never a dull moment and the plot is unpredictable. You have to put on your must read list, you won’t be disappointed.
This review is based on the audio book, the narrator has a lovely clear voice and her interpretation of this story bring it to life. She is perfect for the part.
I received this arc for free and wanted to leave an honest review.

Another installment in the Knitorious series finds the murder happening literally right on Megan's doorstep. Many new characters are introduced and the plot twists kept me guessing till the end. This was read as my monthly LYS Book Club choice and we were treated to a virtual visit by the author for our discussion. Very enlightening and fun.

I just love this series. I like the way Eric and Megan are navigating their relationship and how Megan's friends are honest with her. The method of death was an interesting concept and was kept guessing as to who the killer was until a certain point when it became obvious--and I don't mean the end. :) Once again, a fun book to read. I can't wait for Crime Skein to come out due to the teaser at the end of this book.

I think this one is my favorite so far. I'm wondering what it says about me that I felt sadder about the death of the hand knit sweater than about the death of the therapist. This one had me guessing right up to the end and suspecting somebody who turned out to be totally innocent.

GOOD CLEAN FUN !

I love the Canadianisms (I know that's not a word but it should be)
There is no profanity, no explicit sex scenes and no real violence.
It's a book I'd offer to my grandmother or my teenage granddaughter.
On a personal not I love the easy acceptance of others with no implied judgment.

Murder, collusion and dirty tricks. Never a dull moment in Harmony Lake. Megan and crew are embroiled in a mysterious death of a psychotherapist by the yarn store.
