The category should be "currently baking"! I've already made 4 recipes from this book, and they are all fantastic.

The recipes in this book are great---not much to be said here other than MAKE EVERYTHING. I guess I should say that I especially enjoy the rugelach. It's a great dough, and easy to make.

The best thing, though, is the notes. Not only are there little anecdotes about the recipes and where she found them, but there's a lot of good notes and directions on making the recipes---this is a very thoughtful and well-planned book, and it's obvious that these are well-tested recipes. Foibles and quirks of each recipe are discussed---if a dough is thin, or fragile, or has some odd property, she tells you about it. I LOVE this. What a happy thing.

I have made EVERY cookie of this books-- you wanted to be in my cookie exchange in those days.... or my neighbours... Many of them I made for a certain technique not because we wanted the cookies... I was adored in my neighborhood....

This came out at the same time as Maida Heatter's Cakes. They are definitive works by the master of desserts. A great variety of delicious cookie recipes and techniques - the only thing I would add would be some photos.

Another fantastic Maida Heatter book. I can't wait to try the Down East Chocolate Cookies, Oatmeal Snickerdoodles (I have a weakness for oatmeal, which makes me sound old; sigh) and Charleston Cheesecake Squares.

One star off because of the complete lack of photos. I wanted to see what these delicious-sounding things are supposed to look like so I know if I did it correctly!
