Revealing themselves just landed the paranormal world in turmoil.
Paige and the entire town of Troutdale helped save the world on international TV. The international part was an accident.
But now the world knows. Some are in favor of paranormals being able to be themselves in the open. But most people are scared.
So, when paranormals start disappearing, Paige gets involved. The town gets put on lockdown and they're once again the center of a battle that will change the fates of paranormals across the continent.
This enemy is closer, more powerful, and ultimately deadlier than any other Paige has ever had to face before.

Oh my goodness!!! First off let me say there are a number of books in this series already. It isn't mandatory to have read them prior to diving into this book, however at some point I suggest reading them as the story becomes richer knowing all the nuances. There are possible triggers regarding our real world current political events...they're coached in supernatural storytelling, and for some might be upsetting.
I was blown away with how epic this book was! Oh so many parallels to real world issues, but masterfully done within the confines of the world building. A bada$$ woman finds herself the savior of an entire supernatural community, and in part the country. So many explosive events take place that one wonders just how she kept going. If one of the events happened to someone else it would cripple them, let alone the shocking amount of deception, and heartbreaking cruelty done to people as a whole....hit after hit, yet Paige proved repeatedly why she seems to be the one everyone turns too. I've a feeling there's a lot more ahead in future books. I cannot wait to see what happened to Dexx, and just how/when he'll return. Paige is most definitely starting to realize the true power and strength within herself. Though there definitely still a hidden depth within that she's hoping to learn about. This book will get you cheering for sides and wanting to help right wrongs. Definitely not a calm, relaxing read....but oh so with it. I enjoyed every moment of this book and can't wait for the next in this brilliant series!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Paige Whiskey is now my favorite BAMF! This book was a ride and a half. It's the first book in a new series by SM Blooding, a great name for a fantasy author. I had never read any of the books by this author so I had no idea what to expect. I didn't expect reading how the main character had just given birth on national television!
Paige is nothing like any other urban fantasy hero I've seen. She's a mother to two twins that are growing like proverbial weeds. She's trying to balance her home life with her role as the leader of the resistance to the United States President newly declared war on the paranormal community. The previous series ended with Paige and her fellow paranormals stopping a demon invasion of this world. Before this, paranormals lived quiet lives hiding themselves from the humans. The demon invasion quickly outed them to the world. When faced with anything new like witches and werewolves, people tend to get scared. Scared people overreact and bad things happen.
We get a few battles in the book between Paige's forces and the federal government. I was surprised by how the fighting was written. We have scenes of elves being gunned down by the feds, but we don't get the gore. We have piles of dead elves, and I do mean piles, that include children. That image bothered me so much I had to put the book down for a while. I don't think the book would have been as successful if the author had gone into detail about the the death and destruction. I knew how horrible it was. I'm glad that the author seems to believe that less is more when it comes to such horrors.
I believe this is Paige of the first truly feminist urban fantasy heroes out there. She does it all and she has to do it all. She faces down the President while worrying about why her twins are now the size of five year olds when they're only a few weeks or months old. Other authors have presented some fantastic characters over the years, but nothing like Paige. She's a very simple person. She wants what is best for her family and her paranormal community and she'll do pretty much anything to make sure it happens.
10 STARS - WHISKEY STORM starts a new story segment in the life and battles of the Whiskey family and really all paranormals in Whiskey Witches Midnight Rising Book 1. Ms. Blooding successfully weaves together the various storylines and characters into this new segment and I guarantee it will hold your interest and turning the pages right up to the end.
In the last story segment paranormals were exposed to the world when Paige and the citizens of Troutdale fought the demon, Sven Seven-Tails. Now that they are exposed, the President has decided paranormals are dangerous and need to be dealt with. All paranormals are to be registered, moved to "reservations", fitted with inhibitor collars, chips and more. It didn’t go well for Hitler and the Jews, nor with the U.S. and the Japanese. Why should it go well with Paranormals?
Get ready for magick, bigotry, politics, fake news, illegal government activity and some serious Whiskey Witches powers. When you finish, STOP and take a deep look into yourself. Look around! Are you seeing things different? Potato/Patoto.
I received an advanced reader copy free and have voluntarily chosen to leave an honest.
Now how soon for London Bridge Down: Whiskey Witches Midnight Rising Book 2? We gotta find Dexx.
I loved this latest Whiskey Witches story. Set just days after the cataclysmic battle with Sven that put Troutdale and the paranormal community squarely on the map and in the sites of U.S. government and a mistrustful president and forces Paige to make tough choices and move into new roles. It's a story that takes a look at the state of the world today and the strengths of family and the mirror it holds up isn't always pretty, but, like so many of the previous books in the series, this is actually a feel good book where evil doesn't win when good people stand up for what they believe in. This is a great story that should resonate with a world in turmoil over the differences rather than the commonalities we share.
Holy, WOW! Fantastic book! I love the Whiskey Witches books. Paige has her work cut out for her in this book. DoDO is wrecking havoc on her town of Troutdale, and attacking other paranormal communities, and these attacks are sanctioned.
Fascinating, compelling, and I think realistic characters, their interactions are always interesting, sometimes funny, and always riveting. Exciting, and action packed read, with enough twists in turns in the plot to make you dizzy. I couldn't put this book down.
Paige Whiskey witch, shifter and something else had just finished having her twins in the middle of a demon battle
Paige Whiskey had just had her twins in the middle of a demon battle and was supposed to be on maternity leave to enjoy the first weeks of her children’s birth. But the President of the United States decided to declare the paranormal world and it people to be hazardous to the USA and they should be registered and collared like pets. Their gifts muted, restricted like they were trash. The paranormals called on Paige to lead them out of the mess to find the best way to keep more of them from being slaughtered than all ready had in the first attacks. This is a great story. About a strong family that has to find how to grow even stronger under adverse conditions. How a mother has to find the strength to hide her children to keep them safe and still fight a war she doesn’t want. How to handle a nation of diverse paranormals and humans and lead them to do the right thing. And what is right. If I could I would have given it a twelve star. Loved it. Looking forward to more. My kind of family
I love the Whiskey Witches. Once I found a quiet spot (hard to do, my clan is almost as big as theirs) I read all the way thru without stopping. The sun will be up soon, so it's time to go to sleep.
All hell has broken loose and the Whiskey witches are dead in the middle, as usual. Dexx is with the enemy and apparently has lost his memory. Full of witchy action and twists. A real page-turner!
This is a great installment to the series. I really enjoyed the book it is surprising current on world events and I love the parallels to our own real world issues. Very well written the world building is very well developed and so are the characters. This book is action packed and filled with intrigue.
The MC Paige was tough as nails and proved to be the one everyone wanted and needed to turns too. I look very forward to future books. I really loved the character growth in Paige as she realizes her true potential and the depth of her powers.
The Whiskey witches are back to save the world...again!
After all the madness of saving the world from being destroyed by demons there is still no time to slow down. The president of the United States has declared all paranormals terrorists and it's up to Paige to try to fix it. The book starts as just another day and goes crazy from there. The twins are only a week or so old and shift into whatever they can think of all the time. Expect to see all kinds of magick and battles for freedom. Dexx is captured so Paige is on her own. As with all of the Whiskey witch books, you can expect a rip-roaring time. There were laughs, tears, exasperation, fear, satisfaction and sorrow. The Whiskeys are back with an explosive and addicting new series of magick, shifters and all other types of paranormal beings!
A witch, Paige just had twins. They happen to be witches and shifters also and growing abnormally fast. While that is happening the President of the United States wants all paranormal founded up and chipped or wear collars, witches included. The President had special force putting them in a prison plus Paige's husband Dexx. Paige was the one to be the spokesperson for all paranormal. This is a good story and I loved reading it!
Wow! What a read! This is a spin off from the previous series and whilst you don’t have to have read the previous series they are so good that I totally recommend that you do read them! In this book the paranormals have been exposed and Paige is our Strong kick ass female mc! With a fantastic storyline that sucked me in from the very start, there’s magic and secrets, excitement and action and twists and turns galore and some great characters and I really am looking forward to reading more!
I'm going to start my review with this: if you are a fan of the super-powered savior trope and every urban fantasy and shifter stereotype, this book is for you.
I am not a fan. I think giving Paige so much power and so many abilities is lazy. Making her newborns grow up quickly so you don't have to deal with her having to cart around babies is lazy. Making her children's father disappear right after a huge argument so she doesn't have to consult with anyone on her decision making is lazy. This reads like a watered down version of the X-Men cartoon series (even down to the female President), or possibly Marvel's Civil War.
It's not even about witches or demons anymore. The author needs to stop adding new things to this series and write another instead. It's just ridiculous at this point. Now all we need are some vampires...which did get mentioned in this book so I'm sure they're coming soon.

Whiskey Storm: Whiskey Witches Midnight Rising Book 1 was easy to fall in love with. The book was very easy to relate to current real world situations. This book reminded me of some of my favorite characters Harry Dresden and Mercy Thompson. The story was engaging and far too realistic. It was easy to relate to the tory and the characters in the story. I am trying really hard not to give anything away but if someone were to ask would I recommend this book, It would be an Easy yes.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is an excellent start for a spin off series. Awesome characters and plot. Constant action. Well written and keeps your attention. All types of supernatural species. No graphic sexual content but does have violence. Nothing to graphic though. I recommend it for teens and up. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
In a whole new miniseries, it is just a couple of days after Paige saved the world from Sven and delivered the twins. The president of the United States is now making waves for the paranormal. She is insisting they are all dangerous, terrorists and cannot be trusted. She wants to protect the humans~ Now, Paige and Dexx are at odds over how she wants to handle the situation. While she struggles to fight for their rights and freedoms, Dexx ends up going missing and doing strange things. Paige and everyone will have to fight a new threat, try to keep the peace, the battle to save others, and most of all…try to keep the government from repeating failures from history~ This is just the first book in the newest series of the Whiskeys’. It promises to be even more intense than the others before it!
A Book with totally nonstop action. This time the government are the bad guys. The President has hired her own private army to take down the paranormals. It's civil war or peace. Paige just isn't cut out for politics.
A strong heroin who is able to square off with the president of the united states even though she has her doubts about the details when she is really just a mum protecting her children.
