After barely escaping the dungeons, not totally unscathed, Mal is finally brought to Wabe. But it’s without her men. She has no idea what’s become of them, if they’re alive or even looking for her. After all, no one survives the Sheep. Three touchy and one touching reunion, Mal and her men head off in search for Wally. There’s too much to do for them to remain in one spot. Especially when they need to look for a source of magic that Mal can wield. With them is an aloof and often grouchy flower and the Knave of Hart who Mal’s men do not completely trust. Why should they? The knave has never been the good guy. They’re traipsing all over Laddenworn to gather friends, the rest of Mal’s seven, and magic. What they find are a mad-as-the-Hatter Noli, gypsie-like Wildflowers, and an army full of recycled armor. Mal learns that having a relationship is full of trials and learning to trust. Especially when you’re dealing with jealous, possessive animals and combating a lifetime of emotional abuse at the hands of Laddenwornian women. **This is a full-length new adult, reverse harem, dark romance novel with a #whychoose ending, meaning the main character gets a happily ever after with more than one man (eventually). It contains magic, demons, shifters, nonsense, explicit sex scenes, blood, violence, murder. There are references to past emotional abuse. This is a MMFMM book with a STRONG focus on the woman (although there is some MM and MMF in here, too). This is book 2 of 4 in the series.
Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. When she can't fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center - and utterly swoon-worthy! Don't ask her how many book boyfriends she has...
When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don't even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!
Ok, so the first one earned a 4.5 from me, but this one lost a star from simply confusion. Honestly, there is so much going on that is a bit hard to follow, and the plot seemingly assumes you’ll just mosey along. A touch annoying, truly. Regardless, the lyrical manner of the writing is still enthralling and most of the guys are captivating. I am highly bothered by Kav, however. Events transpire with the knave that left me feeling, well, dirty. I’m not a fan of his, or the glib way Mal shuffles it to the back burner. Some jealous reactions also got to me, though I understood them to a degree. One note, this isn’t really a RH, though there is just one girl. M/M is highly involved, and highly welcome, but that is where the emotion of love lays, with Mal, is just physical with strong caring - atm.
Third person, multiple POV, Fast burn RH/Poly, fantasy, Cliffhanger (not as steep as book 1’s end though) - Minor editing issues.
Reitan continues to amaze me with this series. I think it is probably my favorite out of all of the Wonderland books that I've read. It's like she took little pieces of the original story and just ran with it twisting and braiding the pieces she took and making them into something completely new but awe inspiring. I'm really loving her take on this well loved fairy tale and everything she is putting into the characters. Even when they aren't main characters, they have so much depth and intrigue to their personalities and background story. I just want to know more and more! The story building in this series is insane as well as the character development. I don't know what the heck is going on with my favorite duo from the first book, Ryph and Eagy, but they have dropped down a few spots on my list. The whole jealousy thing between the two of them annoyed me a bit, mainly because the madness is really turning Ryph into a hypocrite after how harsh they treated Mal when her and Wyat got together. I just know that this is going to cause something detrimental to the balance of the group when it finally comes to a head, something that will be truly heartbreaking, but hopefully they will be able to get past it or maybe they can start from scratch and actually include Mal more so the feeling can deepen there instead of just being more of a physical thing. Wyat on the other hand--I love the guy. Him and Chesh seem to be developing great relationships with Mal that just aren't on the physical level. They listen to her and vice versa. There were so many sweet moments between them and I'm looking forward to seeing that grow as the story continues. It sure has been fun trying to guess what characters will be added to her coterie. There are some contenders that I'm all for and others that I definitely do not want around in the slightest simply because I do not trust them or their motivations. Secrets are being kept, and although I do not mind these little surprises, I hate that some are going to hurt Mal in the long run. As the story progresses, I'd love to find more about this madness going around and how it affects each individual. I also want to find out what the Blood Queens have on their agenda. They seem so far ahead in their plans, and there is much more at play than previously assumed. Things just keep adding to the pile of schemes, but the addition of magic might prove useful as Mal improves her magic wielding skills. Can't wait to find out what happens in book three!
4.5 stars I really wanted to wait until the rest of the books were out before I read this one, but I just couldn’t resist. These books are so freaking entertaining. They’re the perfect mix of great plot, funny bits, sexy times, and don’t get me started on that delightful nonsense. I think the card game was simply the perfect amount of nonsense, it was so well done! I didn’t know I was into Alice in Wonderland retellings before this series, but now I can’t get enough of it. I got to care more and more about the different characters, but I have a HUGE soft spot for Chesh and a slightly less huge one, but very big nonetheless, for Eagy. It’s still really fun to try and guess who will be part of the seven and/or coterie. Now for the spoilery part:
I really love the dynamic between Mal and the guys; how they try to be mindful of one another when they take a decision; how they overcame their hurt feelings from book one and start to understand how the others process things. Oh, and those incels jokes were simply perfect. I’d quite literally sell a few organs to be able to read an ARC or have the release date for the next one moved up, because I need the next book now :’( Can it be September 22nd already?
I really enjoyed the continuation of this fractured, twisted world. This book had a whole lot of information to swallow and was filled with steam, action, and poems. [There were parts where consent wasn’t fully given and I wasn’t too okay with it, but that’s about the only problem I had- especially since he kept trying to justify his actions and Mal brushed the whole thing off like it didn’t matter.] Crea’s creation of this world is horrifying and beautiful with its creatures and people that you either love or hate. Out of the guys, Ache and Chesh are still my favorites. I didn’t like seeing the jealous/ possessive side of Ryph and it really made me not care for him as much. I liked the addition of TL, but I want to know what he’s fighting his attraction to Mal so bad. Kav obviously has his secrets and he isn’t so forthcoming, but I feel like he does want to do the right thing even if he isn’t supposed to. I loved meeting the wildflowers, and flower shifters in general, but Adde was my favorite. I found the Ten Children very intriguing and want to know more about them, especially Lily. I love the LGBT+ inclusion of this series. It’s mainly MM, but there was a smidge/ hint of FF in this book and hope there’s more to come! There wasn’t too big of a cliffhanger, but I still need to know what happens next in Laddenworn and with its queens. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
Magical Wonderland is book 2 in the Chronicles of blood series. It picks up right where Toxic wonderland finishes and we find out what happened to Mal after being kidnapped by the sheep. There are a few new characters introduced and we meet a few possible choices for Mal’s final 3, I’m really enjoying trying to guess who she will choose. Once again all the characters names are twisted versions of their original names and it’s like a fun little game trying to figure it all out especially with the amount of new characters that are introduced. Yet again the mood music provided for certain chapters really kicks the story up a notch and Mals notebook at the end is like a mini cheat sheet of all the important information we have learned so far. I loves me a cheat sheet.
This book has lots of steam, Like lots. In the interests of honesty I felt there was a couple of occasions where the lines of consent are blurred ever so slightly, It’s not overly in your face but there’s enough to make you question what’s just happened. I personally don’t have a problem with it but others might.
As this is book 2 of the series it ends on another cliff, all I can say is it’s a good job these books are in fast release because I need book 3 as soon as possible.
This is the second book in the Chronicles of Blood and the continuation of Mal’s quest to fix Wonderland. I love seeing how the relationships between Mal and her men are developing and trying to guess who else is going to join her coterie. The world building in this series is just amazing and there is such depth that you almost feel like you’re travelling through Laddenworn with Mal and her men.
Mal is such a strong character and I love seeing her kick butt even when trying to recover from the events at the start of the book. No matter what happens she never gives up.
I’m really hanging out for Mal and Chesh to finally get together because I think that there will be fireworks when they do. I have a feeling that Chesh will open up a whole new world for Mal.
I can’t wait for the next book to see how things turn out with Kav and TL and if they’re both going to join her coterie.

Magical Wonderland by Crea Reitan continues the Wonderland Chronicles of Blood series. This is the second book in the series, and it picks up almost immediately where the previous book left us.
I was so excited for this book after the cliffhanger in the previous book, and this didn't disappoint. I read this in one sitting, and now I'm trying to, patiently, wait for more. Lots of steam and sexy times.
I loved the characters. Mal's men are lovable and sometimes adorable, and I can't get enough of them. It was fun seeing some old and new characters, and I hope we get more of them. There were some new additions to Mal's harem since the last book and some hopeful additions. Can't wait to see what's to come. I liked Mal's journey in this book and how she seems to grow.
We got lots of new information, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. This book has a great storyline and is very well written.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
Ok so I’m hooked. The first book took me some time to get familiar with the story and characters and at times I just felt like it was weird. Going into the second book, I already knew what to expect so I was able to enjoy the story a lot more. I was able to accept the fairytale and strange characters that are different from the contemporary stuff I usually read. I know what the wanted outcome of the story is to the characters but the journey and the characters are just completely unknown and I love the mystery of that. I love reading about the different people Mal comes across wondering who is going to join her and possibly become part of her harem. This second book was a great continuation of the series and I’m excited to read Dying Wonderland!
Another good book in this series. A lot happens to Mal in this book especially at the beginning. I agree with everyone else and don't trust Kav. I am like Mal in this book on not knowing what the hell is going on most of the time. I do wish that Mal and Chesh would get together. I mean he's a cat and what he could probably do with his tongue! I do feel like Mal doesn't get the foreplay she really deserves in this series. I also question how Mal doesn't know how to give a blowjob. In the first book she talks about being with both men and women so this confuses me in this book. Anyways there is way more story than sex in this book and that is a good thing. We meet new people and run into old that I wish didn't go away so quickly. I am glad these books are coming out quickly right after each other as I already want the next book.

Still a wonderful adaptation of the OG stories! I love how at the end we get a nice summary of everything Mal is learning, it helps me not feel at all overwhelmed going into the next book. I do wish we’d get more information from her brother or her friends. Hate that they were mentioned and just disappeared.
I like how the characters use some of the syntax structure similar to the OG books without it being as confusing as the OG. It’d be too hard to follow and I’d have given up. But the bits that do are well timed
Book 1 was good, this book just gets better. I really love this story line and the twist the author has put on a classic tale. The characters are great, you can't help but become invested in them and their task to save Wonderland. I know Mal has Seven she needs to gather to her cause and she is almost there but can she trust all of them and just because they are part of her seven are they part of her harem?
This series is so good. It did take a while for me to fully get into it, but it took off for me about the middle of the first book and kept me entranced the entire way through the second. I can’t wait to read the next 2 books. The plot is so good, the character development is amazing! I love Mal and her harem. I think Wyat is my favorite and I loved Lorem even though he isn’t part of her harem. I am not a fan of Kav though and I really hope they eventually get rid of him or he improves and stops being so suspicious. You definitely won’t regret picking up this series

I finished book 1 needing more and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. This has more twists and turns and mysteries. Again I finished the book wanting to start the next one straight away. The dynamics between Mal and the guys are changing and it leaves you wondering when certain things are going to happen. If you loved book 1 then you will love book 2 even more!
This series keep getting better and better! When we're least expecting it another danger or creature appears to make everything more exciting and entertaining. The imagination this author has is mind-blowing. Everything is so amazingly twisted! From the riddles, to the rhymes, the mistery, the versatility, the madness. It's intriguing, unique. Every book brings something new, it's like a breath of fresh air. Can't wait to find out what's more to come 🖤
This second book takes you on a ride for sure. Mal really had to push through some tough tasks really brought her character to another level. I did struggle with all the added characters and Mal did favor Ryph and Eagy. I am hoping the third book ties it all together and we see more of Mal develope the relationship with her men. I can't wait to read the third book and how she fixes wonderland.
I have always loved Alice in Wonderland and I try to read all retellings of the story! This series is by far one of my favorite retellings! There are so many twists and turns and I am in love with mal and her men! I can’t wait for book 3, I wish it was out now so I can keep reading.
Continuing on from book one we are immersed deeper into Laddenworn, the colourful and diverse characters keep on coming, I absolutely lost myself in this exciting amazing story and cannot wait for book three.
More amazing craziness as Mal continues her journey through Laddenworn with her men to solve the problem of the Red Queens. Plenty of new characters make appearances while Mal learns more about how life is in Laddenworn and what words to speak when speaking. Lots of crazy ups and downs, steaminess, and a unique version of Alice in Wonderland that just pulls you into the world the author has created! I love this series and cannot wait for the next book!! 💜🖤
This is a great continuation to the series as this story develops we get more and more entwined. This series will make a great binge read. You won’t want to put this book down.
This is an excellent book that will keep you turning pages until you reach the end and then you are wanting more. It moves along at a great pace which makes for an enjoyable read as it is not jumping speeds throughout. Has interesting characters that you cannot help but fall in love with and want to know more about and a story that you cant put down. This book needs to be read and added to your TBR list. no doubt about it.
AMAZING SECOND BOOK! I love how we just dive right back into where we left off from the first book. Kav is questionable to me even by the end of the book so I can't wait see what his deal is. The story telling is once again captivating and just pulls you in. I honestly couldn't put it down till I was done
A great second book in this unique take on the Alice and Wonderland fairy tale. The story picks up where the cliffhanger left us in the first book. Lots of steam but great plot development and new faces being added and hinted to be added to her harem. Can’t wait for the next book.
So had a little trouble with the first book but this one totally kept my attention. It also made me feel more connected to the FMC who in the first book felt really one dimensional...now I'm completely rooting for her. Love the new characters, feel like there is a mystery to solve with their back stories and hopefully will find out in book 3
There’s a lot of action and mystery in book 2! What’s up with the Knave and will TL every straighten out where Mal is concerned? The group is making some nice strides towards their goal of righting the wrong in Wonderland (Laddenworn) but there’s still plenty of unanswered questions. I do hope that Eagles and Ryph get themselves sorted, Eagy’s jealousy has potential to cause a lot of strife and Ryph seems to be dancing too close to madness. Can’t wait to see what unfolds in book 3!
Book two and the stakes have been raised, introduction to new characters and growing even more emotionally invested in our favourites.
I really enjoyed reading this and also enjoy exploring the perspective of the other characters. I also enjoyed reading over to search for clues and foreshadowing for the rest of the series.
DNF at 38%. A few pages in, the author casually drops that her captor has sex with her while she's sick and unconscious and it's not even commented on as an issue til several chapters in. There's no growth in the harem dynamics - lack of communication, respect. All of that combined with a plot that was going nowhere, decided to drop this book.
