Welcome to magical Fairy Falls, where love is in the air and killers are on the loose.
Mina Tiller has just moved to the paranormal world, but her first potions lesson goes horribly wrong when she ends up on the bad side of a local witch, and that same witch shows up murdered a few hours later.
With Mina and Scarlett both prime suspects, the two of them decide their only choice is to solve yet another murder. But between navigating magic lessons, Pawdrey Hepburn deciding to use up all her nine lives at once and discovering things she never knew about her family, Mina's wondering if she's going to be able to keep it all together and solve the case before she finds her new life is actually going to be spent behind bars.
Hex Over Heels is the second book in a humorous paranormal witch cozy mystery series by Samantha Silver
Samantha Silver lives in British Columbia, Canada, along with her husband and seventeen-year-old dog named Terra.
When she's not writing cozy mysteries, Samantha loves travelling (she's most recently been to Egypt, Jordan and Florida) skiing, eating Dairy Queen, and complaining about how hard running is.
Hex Over Heels continues the Fairy Falls Mysteries series with another fun misadventure for Mina and Scarlett (fun for us, not so much for them at times).
This time all it took was one mishap, one tiny accident with a potion tipping where it shouldn’t have to cause trouble, chaos… and murder. Now, it’s up to Mina, Pawdrey Hepburn, and Scarlett to save them from a life behind bars as all the evidence is pointing to the wrong person – Scarlett.
I chuckled my way through Hex Over Heels not bothering much to try to solve the crime but enjoy the story of getting to the who actually is guilty. And as with the first story, Love at First Spell, I enjoyed myself in this world. It’s full of interesting, unique characters, a touch of danger, lots of magic, and characters that draw me into their adventures. As this is a Cozy Mystery I’m not going to give anything away, but if you love a good mystery with a paranormal slant, and chuckling out loud, then you’ll want to get caught up on the Fairy Falls Mysteries series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
A great supernatural cozy mystery series. A fun and outstanding cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Mina an ad executive from New York City is approximately 30 years old. One day she has nearly hit by a taxi and when a force field stops the taxi from hurting her. She is soon informed that she is a witch. An elf from the supernatural world has come to let her know that she is actually a witch for my small supernatural town. He takes her to meet her family. She thought her cruel narcissistic mother was her only family. As she kept herself distant from her mother. She was surprised to learn she had a grandmother and aunt and cousins living in the supernatural world. After meeting her family she returns to New York and ends up getting screwed over for a promotion by a lying cheating skank Who on the day of announcement of her promotion. Weirdly admits to the truth and gets fired on the spot. When Mina returns to her office she decides maybe the corporate life and the human world is not for her. She returns to the supernatural town of fairy Falls to be with her family and learn magic. Follow along as her and her cousin who lived together end up embroiled in another murder investigation. Follow along as Mina and Scarlet try and solve the crime that her cousin is a suspect in. They meet Ollie a private investigator witch from Mount Rainier. A character from one of the authors other series in this world. A very entertaining and fun story and world. Check it out you’ll be entertained from beginning to end.
Mina's potions lesson goes awry when she accidentally knocks an ingredient into Renee's potion. Apologising doesn't help, and when Grandma Eva tells Renee that mina is her granddaughter it only seems to incense her more even though she's been assured that she's not going to lose out by having to start again.
Scarlett takes Mina for lunch and Renee turns up at the same place and starts the most ridiculous argument. As Renee attempts to attack Mina with a spell Scarlett steps in and defends her.
Mina and Scarlett finish lunch after Renee is escorted from the place having hit the waitress with her spell. Shortly after they arrive home Scarlett and Mina hear the news that Renee's body has been found behind the business.. and of course Scarlett is the main suspect.
Back to hunting a murderer for the duo.. unfortunately Renee wasn't exactly making friends everywhere.. a broken relationship with boyfriend, debt issues with friends and family alike.. can Mina solve it in time and save Scarlett from the same fate?
Could be stronger, weak dialogue.. poor grammar and sentence structure let's it down..
Mina has decided to move to Fairy Falls and learn to be a witch. She moves in with her cousin Scarlett who is teaching her basic spells at her own pace.
She has her first potion making lesson at her Grandma Eve’s store and accidentally knocks an ingredient into a working witches potion.
The witch goes nuts at her. Then when the girls go to celebrate the same witch takes offence to them being in HER place to eat and it ends up with Scarlett almost getting hexed but the barmaid get hits instead.
She leaves in a huff and yep you guessed it is found dead.
Now our two girls, more Scarlett really, are suspects. Can they prove they didn’t kill the Witch??
A great cozy paranormal murder mystery. Not a single grammatical error which I love.

Hex Over Heels is the second book in a humorous paranormal witch cozy mystery series by Samantha Silver
Mina is finally living in Fairy Falls with her cousin and getting the feel of it all when a fellow witch is murdered and Scarlett is a suspect. Mina and Scarlett decide to solve the mystery to get Scarlett back her life and it’s on! It was fun, adventurous, they meet some new characters and I loved it. I would like some romance, hint hint!
Mina is taken lessons on potion making from a witch named Victoria. She accidentally knocked over a bottle of ingredients into a witch, named Renee, potion she had been working on. Renee was very rude to Mina. Later Renee is found murdered. They suspect Mina's cousin Scarlett of the crime. Can they find the real killer and prove Scarlett innocent?
I really enjoy Samantha Silver’s communities of paranormals and this book series is no exception. It was particularly fun to have characters from other series show up. You have to love Grandma Rose. I am looking forward to the next one.
Book #2 in this series is excellent! Mina and Scarlett are fun characters and the rest of this cast of characters are developing very nicely. I love Grandma Eva. This mystery was was interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!
I enjoy the stories very much, but got frustrared when on one line the witch's name is Victoria and not many sentences later you call her Violet. Twice in Hex over Heels. Otherwise a fun and loving story line.
I loved reading this book, its the second one in this series and you learn more about Fairy Falls and the paranormals that live there. Funny, entertaining, and a mystery all in one
This author is outstanding in writing these type of books. The characters and story are so unique and well written that the pages just fly by. Great Reading Everyone!
Another cute quick read. I really like Silver's books. I truly enjoy these cozy mysteries. I liked these characters and the plot. Looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
