Saving Amber

Rate this book
A cold zero…

Master Sergeant Tristan Michaels, USMC, is on temporary assignment to the Mountain Warfare Training Center in a remote location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, teaching Marines how to survive in cold weather. When one of his students is found dead in what looks like a friendly fire accident, newly promoted NCIS Special Agent Amber Dalton, must postpone her planned leave to the white hot beaches of Aruba to investigate. Although her boss tells her it’s a 24-hour job, Amber has reason to believe that the dead Marine was murdered. She soon discovers that someone doesn’t want her to find out the truth and tries to end her snooping—permanently. As she investigates, the sexy and smart Master Sergeant Michaels is not only distracting, but a stalwart presence in what becomes a harrowing fight for survival in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I have to say this is the first in Ms Dawson’s NCIS series and I was
Truly impressed.
This was definitely a page turner for me from the first page.
Three is a lot of twists, turns and emotions; with a great amount of tension between hero and heroine (sort of a love/hate relationship).

Sgt
Tristan a bad experience on a previous mission with NCIS agents
Blinding him to see Amber for who she really is a fair, honest individual).

As for Amber was suppose to be vacationing in Aruba but was called in on this case involving an incident a marine training in the Sierra Nevada Mountains dies.
What originally thought to be a friendly fire accident suspiciously turns out to be murder.
So at the appearance of NCIS Agent Amber Dalton investigates with Sgt Tristan and ends up in a dangerous situation. Will they make, you will have to read this book which I truly recommend an all the others in the series.

This book could so easily have been called Saving Tristan because the truth is that Amber and Tristan save one another in different ways A non stop action ride that will have you on the edge of your seat from almost the first page with so many twists and turns that you will almost get whiplash and by the end you will wonder about the depravity of some men

NCIS special agent Amber Dalton is looking forward to a holiday in Aruba with her boyfriend that is until he breaks things off and informs her he has been engaged to another woman for the past six months even though they have been together for the past eighteen months Amber is mortified but not devastated making her wonder just how in love she really was decides to head to Aruba by herself. Those plans come to a screaming halt when she is sent on a case to the Mountain Warfare Training Center in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Master Sergeant Tristan Michaels, USMC is devastated when one of the marines he is training in mountain warfare survival and sniper work is killed by friendly fire. He doesn't allow people to get close to him at all and this particular sniper has cotton far closer than anybody else maybe because he sees a young version of himself in him. When Tristan is cleared of misconduct he helps Amber investigate the case soon it is obvious that this isn't friendly fire as everyone assumed something far more sinister is going on and as more bodies pile up and investigation raise questions about AWOL soldiers then Tristan and Amber are placed in extreme danger Can his skills and her determination and sass get them out of a deadly situation or will they also become victims. Will Tristan finally admit that he is keeping people away as he blames himself for past actions even though he was following orders and will he make a choice to live a good life or keep punishing himself.

This book introduced us to a whole swath of new characters will we get the stories of Tristan's two coast guard sisters and his seal brother and will we get further insight into Amber's new team, time will tell

Saving Amber by Zoe Dawson
NCIS Series Book Four
USMC Master Sergeant Tristan Michaels is biding his time in the Sierra Nevada. He has six weeks until he's re-evaluated after eighteen months of training Marines in these mountains. And then, back to combat. It's all he's known since joining the Marines as an eighteen-year-old.

NCIS Special Agent Amber Dalton feels like she's always second-best. To her sister, to the man who just broke up with her, to her boss. She's being sent to investigate a friendly fire because she's available...second-best.

When Tristan finds his missing Marine dead...a kid that had gotten under his guard...it throws him off. When NCIS shows up to investigate...and the woman is going to stay in his townhouse...it gets worse. Then the story takes quite a turn for the ugly. Wow, what a story. It goes deep into what evil possibly exists within some humans. The story wrapped me up and had me turning the pages to see what happens next.

If you, like me, are a fan of the TV show NCIS, you will truly enjoy this latest book in the NCIS series by Ms. Dawson.
This time the NCIS wiz is Special Agent Amber Dalton, newly promoted and with plans of being on a beach vacationing.
But plans changed when a Marine training in the Sierra Nevada Mountains dies. What originally was thought to be a friendly fire accident, now suspiciously appears to be murder.
Master Sargeant Tristan Michaels was the one training the group , so when Amber arrives to investigate, he’s there to help and protect.
Will these two survive the danger they encounter and if they do, will a relationship develop or will the end of the case be the end of them as well?
This was a good addition to the always engaging series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Great book! I always know that a book by Zoe Dawson will be well worth reading, and this is no exception, she just seems to get better each time. Amber is an NCIS agent about to go off on a long awaited week in the sun, but instead finds herself taking what she is told will only be a days delay to investigate the death of a Marine under what is thought to be friendly fire whilst on a training course in the mountains. She meets the trainer responsible for the course, Master Sergeant Tristan Michaels,
and they work together to try and work out out what really happened, whilst also fighting their attraction to each other and other issues. There are so many unexpected twists and turns, and some of the characters from the previous books also make an appearance. I thoroughly recommend this book.

WOWZIE!!!! WHAT AN ENTERTAINING BOOK!!!!!!!🤗

This was an exciting, suspenseful fast moving book!!! The mystery and action, the twists and turns kept getting better and better. The storyline was unusual and very cleverly told. I really like the way Zoe Dawson writes. Her characters are so finely detailed that you really feel like you know them. Tristan and Amber were very likeable people. Their relationship was so sweet and caring. It was also sexy and passionate. Their understanding of each other and subsequent protection of each other was heartwarming and moving. There was very little couple angst, which I appreciate. I highly recommend this book... It was highly entertaining from page one through to the end! 😇

Enjoyed

Another successful book in the NCIS series. It takes a lot of hard work for a woman to prove herself to the men and being a problem has it's own problem. That being said Amber fit in and has the stamina, brains and stubbornness to stand up to a grumpy, proud marine. The attraction started for both of them but he decided that it was best to leave it alone. Great story.

All I can say is wow - what an amazing storyline with a twist I’ve yet to encounter in all my reads. Loved the main characters - the alpha marine and the smart, capable NCIS agent - and the romance that builds between them. I’ve loved this series thus far but this is hands-down my favourite !!! Easily read as a stand-alone but highly recommend the others as well.
