I didn't ask for a mobster's house to be my next target. I wasn't given a choice in who my marks were. The only thing on my mind is keeping my family together and surviving.
Liam Safaryan is a man who takes without being offered. He's the thing that shadows run from and the idea of him makes me want to run and hide. Yet, his touch leaves me intrigued and yearning for more.
He begins to stalk me like prey. There at every turn. He turns my world on its axis and everything I know becomes twisted and warped.
Liam wants to own me. He wants to break me. Make me submit.
But Liam has never met someone like me before. I play by my own rules. I won't give in or break so easily.

This is my first time reading anything by this author. The premise was intriguing and the first half or so of the book was really good. There may have been an occasional grammatical error but it wasn't distracting to the story and the mechanics of the writing and storytelling were great. It all falls apart in the 2nd half. It almost didn't seem like the same person was writing it. There were many, many errors, and they WERE distracting. The pacing was off like she was just trying to finish the story,. Things just didn't make sense and the characters spoke and acted in that didn't align with the characters she'd crafted in the beginning. In all , the 1st half I'd rate as solid and the 2nd half as WTF and try again. It's unfortunate as the first half shows this author has talent and if the 2nd half had been as good, I would have given this a 4.5-5 stars. This is a 2.5 for me
This is my first book by this author. I did find the story particularly a dark read at least this would not be my definition of a dark romance.
I love mafia romances and the fact that was an interracial story made it all the more interesting to me. Liam and Nova suck you in from the first few pages and hold you captive until the end. I cannot wait to book two. I would recommend this book as a great read.
Not good. The story is too slow, and ends Up being boring. There are too many descriptions or details that are not necessary at all, I started skipping full pages that did not serve for nothing. Also, come on... The story is so cheesy that it is ridiculous. Starting with the first meeting of the characters, does anybody believe that the bratva boss comes across someone who is trying to rob him in his own home, and not only isn't he able to pull the trigger at all, but he lets the robber put him to bed and say goodnight to him... Mmmmm OMG not even the most stupid toddler would be that stupid. Come on, we wanted a mafia book. A dark book. Where is the darkness? Because It has been a really long time since I last read something this cheesy. And where is the Mafia? Because you can use all the Mafia terms that you like but this is not Mafia.
I really enjoyed this. Liam was your typical alpha-male Bratva boss and Nova was a strong woman who does whatever it takes to keep her family’s head above water. I liked that she wasn’t some simpering girl who did whatever he wanted. The plot twists were good even though I guessed them pretty early on. The timing of the epilogue kind of caught me off guard, but only because of how soon it was to the final chapter. My only issue was the spelling errors (like, palate vs palette), they didn’t take away from the story but every time I came across one I cringed.
TW: mention of sexual assault on minor and playing with consent
I’m normally weary of giving authors bad reviews, but I think this book deserves it. This book was all around no bueno. IDK why I finished it…The grammar was bad. The characters were flat. There was no chemistry between the main couple. I get morally gray characters, but the hero was NOT compelling enough for someone to want to get with him. The way Liam would talk to and about Nova made me uncomfortable. Val seemed more interesting, and I didn’t like him either.
ALSO the subplot with Yara was unnecessary. I can let the kidnapping slide, but cause there needed to be a conflict, but did she have to get raped????? I’ll answer. It did not need to happen the way it did. And the story doesn’t even give her a decent resolution. Liam just mentions her going to therapy. Yuck. That really didn’t sit right with me.

This was a first time author for me and after reading a 1 star review online for another book by the author, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I truly enjoyed this book, after being in a book funk, it brought me right out of it. Nova was entertaining, a live wire. In control of her out of control life. Liam was a no nonsense stalker determined to punish nova for her crimes. Mix n val, who I loved, can't wait to see if the story of him and Astrid comes to light. Family wars and missing jewels made for a exciting dark bratva romance.
I liked this book! It wasn't so dark that you needed therapy after reading, so... Nova was a thief for hire. She was contracted for a job that was going to pay BIG bucks, as she was struggling alone to care for her younger twin siblings after the death of her mother. Unfortunately for Nova, she stole from Liam Safaryan, the head of the head of the Safaryan Bratva, and he wanted payback!
The story was a okay read, in my opinion it could have been better. Nova was enlisted to steal a stone; however, she want in blind. No research on her intended target. Liam, the head of the Bravta (which he stated a lot) caught Nova stealing from him and vowed he would find her.
I found it to be an okay read, it could have been better with more research on the Bravta.
Nova was tasked to steal something from Liam who is a Bratva boss and when she is caught she is not afraid and stand up to him. I'll continue to read the rest of the series as I'd like to find out the back stories of the other characters.
This was a good start to the series, My only issue there seemed to be a few editing errors with spelling and font sizes differed which got quite annoying.
The story had potential. Just didn't enjoy the writing, plus the spelling and grammar mistakes didn't help. Also, Valentin's name at one point was written as "Valentine", which is it? o.O
I liked the FMC at the beginning, how she's basically raised her siblings and done quite well with it. The MMC, not so much. The whole thing didn't feel very Mafia at all. Lastly, the ending was abrupt and rushed, felt totally pointless.
What an amazing story , right from the very beginning it had me sucked in !! I couldn’t stop reading the plot was so good , Liam and Nova have so much chemistry I thought for sure my kindle would melt they were so HOT !! Great story I can’t wait to read more from this Author !!
I love Mafioso love stories. This one is full of twists and turns. The start of this love connection was very unconventional, but worked out in the end. The H and h are nowhere near perfect, but have an attraction to each other that can't be denied. Great storyline, character and plot development. Hopefully part 2 will continue down the same path.
I found you on K Killers page and promised to read! I WANT MORE NOW!!! I usually don’t read books under 300 pages...I like all the details and the play of the words in my mind, but this was well written and to the point! Now on to Captive cause I need more of your words in my life!!!
I was a little confused because I know Russians don’t care for black people ( or at least that’s what I be been told. So discovering Nova was black put a whole new turn on the story. Also I wanted to know how Val knew Astride. So I was a little disappointed those facts were left out. Other wise it was a good story.
This novel could have been so much more of it had a little more depth. For a mafia story it was light weight. Nothing in it made me feel tense or worried for the characters. I like to 'feel'. Sadly I didn't.
I would think that a lot of readers would not want the same experience as me so would give a higher score. Read it and make up your own mind.
I really loved Broken I didn't see any problems with the book. All the books I done read by u was really good. Keep doing you're thing. And I'm patiently waiting for your next book
The messed up words and misspelled words were a challenge in some spots. Proof reading would have caught a lot of those mistakes. I like the story though. The characters had "character"
Chile, I had a great time reading Nova and Liam. Nova was a career thief and got caught in Liam's Estate. Nova has her siblings that she cares for and has to make a way to make sure they eat and go to school. Liam vows to find his "Career Thief" and make her pay. A fast-paced, inter-racial love story filled with violence, crime, mystery, and sex. This review was submitted by Unique Works, LLC.
Broken: The Head Of The Bratva And The Little Thief
Good read, there you have the head of the bratva and a sassy little thief going back and forth, their banter, their feelings and not to mention their attraction to each other, nicely done.
Great story, very sexy with lots of steam. Pity about the spelling and the grammar, which lets it down a bit. If you can ignore this though, then it’s a pretty enjoyable read.
Neither character interests me. The story was too similar to other stories and I'm tired of the woman in a IR (bwwm) being ridiculously down on her luck. I like the cousin better and her best friend was not a best friend. Do better.
Liam and Nova. The characters were great. The story was a little slow in the beginning. The story has a good plot and storyline. With a lot of ups and downs, surprise twists to keep you turning the pages. They had sizzling hot🔥 chemistry. "Little thief".
Confused as to why this author was obsessed with “r*pe” I mean it’s just icky but over all a very good toxic dark romance mafia quick read I shall see what’s in store for this book
I enjoyed the story line and the action. Between the suspense and action, I was captivated. My only complaint is that there did not seem to be a real conclusion. Some questions and motives were left hanging.
Soooo many twists and turns...sooo many questions but exciting as well for the beginning of a new series once started was hard to stop reading couldn't put it down on to book 2 yessss
