It was Cassian Cromwell who first discovered how to capture any moment in time. And then to preserve that moment so perfectly that every sight, sound, touch, smell, person and place within it could be visited, again and again.
A hundred and forty-one years later, Kaida Hummingtree is about to learn the secrets of time capture. But on her first day at the prestigious Cromwell College, she finds that a very different destiny awaits her. She's forced to explore some of the most dangerous captures, the ones that no sane person would ever agree to enter, the ones that have already killed her sister. And she's terrified of losing her life too.
Kaida must survive long enough to discover who is trying to kill her. But can she truly change a fate that was chosen for her long ago? Or will time prove to be the ultimate enemy?
Annie Hoad has been dreaming about living in a castle since she visited a really cute one, when she was a child, and decided it would be a much more exciting place to live than a bungalow. Sadly, she still lives in a flattish sort of house, but her dreams of becoming a castle-dweller will never die.
Her dreams of becoming a writer have been more successful, and she now spends her days scribbling down ideas and following her cat from room to room.
I really enjoyed “The Time Capture.” Annie Hoad is such a great storyteller. Her main character, Kaida Hummingtree, grew up in a peaceful household, and just when she hoped to start learning the wonderful secrets of Time Capture, she was suddenly thrown into the most terrifying life-threatening situation. What Kaida has to face is both heartstopping and thrilling. I loved this fast-moving and brilliantly plotted page-turner, and it would definitely make a fantastic film.
Although this book is written about teenagers it definitely has a more mature feel to it. A very imaginative storyline and great story telling. Kaida and Wren were in some very challenging situations which they somehow managed to get through. I found it very hard to put down and will definitely read more by this author.
