You know, I half expected this book to be a lazy 6 hour carry over of Ben's podcast. But man, when he has time and puts in the effort to prepare he is really good. The points articulated and his ability to critically examine history and complex themes in philosophy in light of modern events is remarkable. I liked this book quite a bit. much better than the podcasts.

Shapiro reviews the history of the United States, its founding philosophy, and how it was implimented throughout history. He specifies the differences between a "dissintigrationist" and "unionist" world view. Dissintigrationists want to tear down the structures of American culture and unionists want to uphold them so we can all live together in shared values of American ideology.
