An unstoppable juggernaut is coming for her. A villain who will take what he wants. Fixated on her very scent, he stalks the wood in search of his precious mate. His tiny, rebellious queen.
Pleased by her defiance, entranced by her spirit and burning wrath, Gaius smiles, knowing she will be made to yield. She can't deny what her body craves. In her reluctant embrace, he samples a taste of forbidden redemption. The whisper of fate that knows nothing of the corruption in his blood.
She is salvation.
And Gaius will annihilate any who dares touch what he has claimed.
But he is not the only villain in these woods...
GIAUS is a full-length novel from USA TODAY bestselling author, Myra Danvers. A harrowing tale of primal cravings and an antihero you've never seen before, wet your palate with this gripping sequel to RENEGADE—just don't forget to breathe.
USA Today Bestselling Author of The Last Tritan, Atom and Evil, The Feral Court, and many more to come!
Raised by her awesome parents in Canada's snowy north, Myra learned perseverance from an early age. She learned to speak in third person via extensive reading as a child, because... well... Northern Canada gets a LOT of snow. And when one isn't snowboarding, building quinzees, or waking up to teddy bears frozen to the floor (true story), one tends to read about places that are warm--even if being cold is preferable to being hot, every-damn-time.
All that reading gave Myra the gypsy bug. So, after college, (where she majored in professional gypsying) she moved to a ski resort in British Colombia to be a ski bum and chase the winter, because the cold was in her bones and it never bothered her anyway.
But then life caught up with her, as it does, and now she's stuffed full of enough life experience to write until transcendence (where she will be first in line to get a sweet android body and travel the universe until the end of time). So that's what she does when she's not listening to the voices or taking apart the electronics just to see their insides.
Cool right? Come be my friend on Goodreads, and have a free book for your troubles!! It's called Swallowed by Darkness, and it got me my USA Today Bestselling rank, baybee. Enjoy!!!
One Million stars for the cover...Barely two stars for the rest.
I’m writing this review as a fan of the Omegaverse (henceforth shorted to OV) and in no way am I shaming people for shipping whatever it may be they like about this book. I consider myself pretty well read in the erotica department and it would be pretty hard to shock me. Well this did. It wasn’t so much the rough sex scenes that were shocking but the language used to describe the Omegas, the Omegas anatomy and everything else about the Omegas was vulgar and degrading to the extreme.
It was pretty hard to read some scenes - around the 18% mark in particular. I fail to understand, if this is supposed to be erotic, who this is is aimed at? Is seems to me a man might enjoy the degradation and dominance displayed here more than a women would. Do women not respond to sex emotionally? I know I do and there were very few emotional connections made by me or any of the characters. Except disgust at the whole fantasy race. That includes the Anhur and the slave race also.
I’m fact I’m pretty miffed at paying 3.78 for 163 pages of “fluids” only to have it end at 87%! In some ways I was glad to see the never ending sex-scene actually come to an end but then the rest of the story did too! Half the book is one long drawn out sex scene.
It’s occurred to me that the whole genre of OV has now twisted into something that reads a whole lot like this book. Since when did OV become a platform for rape and degrading women. Much like the word “gay” used to mean happiness and now means something else ... OV has become... this.
I think I will have to go back to reading mpreg if this is the way mf OV's trend will continue.
I’ve read alot of other OV including the very famous Born to be Bound and it does feature rape dubcon and sub&dom but it also features a storyline not completely centered around one sex scene! There is love and a growing relationship.I can only hope given the ending that *nameless Omega female* starts to show a bit more personality and isn’t just driven by her hormones the whole time.
So, a rare fantasy romance book for me this month.
This is the continuation of the first book in the series, which if you haven't read, well you should well too if you love omegaverse and reverse harem.
However, this is not your usual reverse harem omegaverse, per say, since you also have infected monsters (i.e. zombies). What also made this unique for me, is that it sets in the woods.
The heroine, Renegade was still on the run, this time from the group of men she met in the last book. And this time, we met Giaus, the hunter we briefly glimpsed in the last book. Giaus is one of the infected and of course, he wanted Renegade as his mate. There was this hunting scene which is just crazy hot, and which I wouldn't bother you to explain them.
So yeah, it was crazy hot and steamy. And I love this author brand of it. Only criticism, there was a lack of world building in this one compared to the last book. As always, I always appreciate a good structural plot.
As usual, Myra Danver's pulls me in, chews me up, and spits me out the other side to stumble reeling with a massive book hangover and a demanding need for MORE. Giaus is the perfect filthy hot follow-up to Renegade. I never know what's going to happen next or what devilish surprise is lurking several pages ahead. I didn't just read this book, I inhaled it, and now I need the next one pretty please.
Renegade’s story continues in the same pace in Giaus as it had in Renegade. And i had to run like crazy to keep up with everyone and everything. Leaving me breathless at the end….and i’m taking a small break before i continue with Sickle. To allow all the details to sink in….to make sense of everything that has happened so far.
Giaus was the feral Alpha that found our little Omega Renegade, and he was going to take his time to make sure she was his. A rare Alpha, infected with the Trax virus, but still able to think and act with reason. But the pack that caught her during her heat were not prepared to let her go,even if she did manage to escape them. Even if she wanted nothing to do with the son of the Alpha she’d managed to get away from,Hadim. Sinadim was planning to break her,and use her in his plans to take the Silver City from his father. His war chief Balkazar only saw a whore, one to use and abuse until they lost interest. But after they found her,and saw Giaus take her,Sinadim’s plans changed. Because she claimed Giaus…..and that meant she was infected too…. Would that mean her death….or something worse? Balkazar was already feeling the effects after fighting Giaus. And Sinadim was going to find out himself….in a way he’d never expected! Then there was the other Omega,Sickle. His loyalty had always been to Sinadim, but Renegade changed something in him. Fighting for his own life meant he’d be forced to make different choices…..
Holy hotness!! Giaus is my omegaverse crack. A massive monster who could easily twist the heads off of any alpha or beast that would challenge him, yet the sweetest mate to his omega. God I loved the way he saw Renegade for the prize and Queen that she was. Giaus was unquestionably the King of the beyond and yet he willingly knelt at Renegade's feet.
God, I was so happy to see Renegade get away from the Prince and his cohorts who true to form only wanted her for how they could use her for their own ends. Without thought to Renegade and her wild heart and spirit. They just wanted to break her. I loved how Giaus gave Renegade the power back. He wanted to uplift her and see her thrive. She deserved that after years of abuse and misuse. He literally slayed dragons for her. I loved him! I wish I could have my own Giaus.
This was sooo good. I didn't want it to end, but I need to see what happens now. Of course selfish Sinadim has tried to ruin everything. I have to find out how Renegade is gonna make him pay for it. This series has really blown me away.
Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine. *Grins*
Cover: 1000/5!! Giaus is Gorgeous!!
I Give this Book a 3.5-4-4.5/5, Listing as 4. No Spoilers. Cliffhanger(?): Yes! Relationship Type(?): Its still developing so I’m not even sure yet. Heat: 4-4.5/5 M/M(?): No Drama: 4.5-5/5 Suspense: 5/5 Dark(?): To me No, but honestly I’m a huge lover of Dark to Extreme Dark, so I don’t even bat an eye anymore. 😆 Pacing: It is a bit focused on some areas, so the pacing is slow.
I loved the original version and I’m getting accustomed to this version, this version is definitely different. I’m not sure how it’s going to go, but I really want my hands on Book 3. I’m really looking forward to finding out who will be in the next cover!
Wow, prepare yourself for this rollercoaster of a second book. Gaius is a feral Alpha, infected by a virus that turns people into zombies, but it has mutated into something else in him and he’s ready to claim his queen. I loved the world building and the sense that these characters were truly alien. We’re given a peak inside some very strange heads in this story and I loved it! Can’t wait for Sickle! Highly recommended.
Honestly I'm a little bit in love with Renegade. I simply want the best for this girl, she's been through way too much in this series that seems to never cease to amaze me in the lengths of how out of pocket it can get lol. Sinadim is... Not a favorite, but near the end he's improving? Maybe? Honestly quite a few of these guys have a lot of misogyny issues going on, so I'll take what I can get.
Speaking of misogyny, I thought Balkazar couldn't amaze me with some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth, but he was determined to out beat himself with every next sentence. It's honestly admirable, I can't remember the last time I read a man that was that putrid, in more than one sense of the word. The breadth of his chauvinism was astounding.
Moving on, I liked Giaus quite a bit, actually. Although, I think that might be just in relation to having to compare him to everyone else, which when I think about it, isn't the biggest of difference considering the male cast? Definitely, like the others he has issues with both how he sees the female gender and Hathorians in general, but at least his heart is coming from the right place when it comes to Renegade? Maybe? Hopefully we'll see more improvement, but he's still sitting at his debut spot of #2 in my faves list, right above Sinadim, who had only in Act 3 managed to jump up from *checks notes* #6 to #3 after having spent the longest time below the hybrids, and of course, above Balkazar. So, silver linings.
Although, side note, am I the only one who gets queer in denial vibes from Sinadim, Balkazar, and even Giaus within relation to each other? Cause some of their scenes got me and my Kindle staring at each other like the eyes emoji for at least a minute. At LEAST.
But I digress.
And, finally, of course, this second book only further solidified Sickle's #1 spot in my list, continuing his reining streak at honestly being one of--if not the only--one in this house that has any rights. Especially in relation to Renegade. So many of his scenes in this book were just sweet, sweet pieces of validation for me. The fact that he's the prettiest one aside, and the only Hathorian male, he has time and time again shown how devoted he is to Renegade and even when she's being led through hell and high water by LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE, he'd still die for her in a heartbeat. To say that I'm excited for his book would be a grave understatement.
So rarely do I see books like this include a soft and yet cunning male like Sickle as a love interest, and not simply relegated to being a side character, and I am thoroughly invested in his character arc, because honestly? I don't even think Renegade truly appreciates him yet, but I am eager to see the growth of that relationship, because something about this series gives me horror movie vibes, and even more than Renegade sometimes, Sickle truly does remind me of a final girl.
I know what Omegaverse books are, but this wasn’t it for me. I wasn’t too thrilled after reading book one, but I decided to give book two a chance to see if it all comes together. I was disappointing and the same frustrations still existed with this book.
One the multiple POVs without introducing or saying who’s view we were looking through. It was very annoying getting a few sentences to paragraphs into a chapter before I know who’s POV it was.
In addition, the alpha theories didn’t always align or match up and i had a hard time grasping the natural characteristics of the species.
Wow. this is so different. I can't believe how much this changes things. I liked being able to see the similarities but this is truly a story now. I can't wait to hear more and see our infected one come in to play. Poor Renegade though caught and stuck with males again rather than being in charge. Next one please!
Rewritten and expanded this book is a worthy contender amongst the many omegaverse stories. I love the fully fleshed out backstory and our heroine. She doesn't have a name because cast out to die , she is a renegade.
Once again I want to start out by expressing my appreciation to the author for being up front/blunt with the super-spicy scenes contained in this book. While I don't mind a good euphemism, I much prefer bluntness with my naughty.
While there is quite a bit of spice in this book, there is more plot here than there was in the first one and I find myself wanting more of the backstory for each character to make the reading experience more complete.
Giaus has claimed Renegade (the discarded Hathorian female from the first book) as his mate and queen despite her having some very heavy reservations on this. After being used and abused by Hadim - the Prince that expelled her for treachery she didn't actually commit - she wants nothing more than her freedom. When Sinidim, Balkazar, Sickle, and the others find that Renegade has escaped them, they go in search of her. She was, after all, to be used again to birth a hybrid army for the fallen prince (Sinidim, Hadim's son) so he could exert himself over his father. However, when they do find her, they find her with Giaus. Sickle is heart-broken because he claims to have had plans of cherishing her. Balkazar is enraged and would see both Giaus and Renegade dead. Sinidim just sees an opportunity. In the end, Renegade finds herself with two mates who hate each other, all three broken and injured in a deep pit/prison. We then watch as Sickle - the Hathorian Male - flees with the belief that Sinidim is dead and his allegiance to him no longer an issue. Free!
I look forward to reading the third book when it comes out in March of 2022!
I thought the Omegaverse would take time for me to get used to, but they have captured me so far! If you don't mind a whole lot of spice, this may be the series for you!
Umm.. this book left me with a weird feeling. Like when you eat something oily and it leaves that taste in your mouth that you can’t get rid of. Don’t get me wrong I like dark fantasy books. I even like other Myra books, but I think I’m done with the constant misery, which is this book. The plot was just too one note for me. Let me say I didn’t notice any grammatical errors which drives me nuts, and I’m sure I’ll be the outlier here because I didn’t like the constant almost rape and torture. Constant chasing and beatings. It was like there was no take a breath a moment. I liked the first book because I felt like it had more story and plot than just a harem girl escaping that life. I was rooting for her when she wrote her name on the walls and walked out. This book is nothing like it. The Giaus character was interesting and seemed to like her spirit too, but of course it can’t ever just be so can it. There is always someone killing something or someone raping or trying to rape someone. Just expect the worse to happen and you’ll be right about it. It got too much for me. I set it down at the last 10% predicting the worse was going to happen. When I finally decided to finish I was right. More bad stuff happens, more mind f***s. Ugh. The next book will be more of the same I imagine. Misery misery misery.
l like I've been dragged across broken rocks and then dunked in freezing cold water, all the while loving every minute. This book is a continuation of Renegade and didn't go anywhere near where I thought it would! Myra Danvers definitely brought out the big guns on this one. It's a harrowing adventure of the omega Renegade on her mission to be a queen, being a power of her own and running her own life. Giaus is a damaged male, infected with a terrible virus, but where it's incredibly damaging and eventually causes death in most, he has reaped the benefits. Making him stronger, faster, smarter, etc than any others of his kind. He discovers Renegade and wants her for a mate but so does the mixed pack that found her during Renegade. This book hit me in the feelings so many times and each time made me come out in a hurry to read more! I can't recommend this series enough and I'm already excited beyond measure to read the next one!
I read the original version of this story when it was published under a pen name. Since then it has been revamped and the author has put it under her name. For anyone wondering, this book has lived up to the author's name because this book is even better now that it has been revamped. It is decadent debauchery at its finest, done in a way that really only this author can do.
Even though certain elements of the story were the same it feels more realistic which is impressive and makes me question how that is even possible in an Omegaverse world? My answer to that would be this author and her exceptional imagination. I liked the first series but I LOVE this one even more. I hope that the author doesn't make me wait too long for the next installment because this was Omegaverse-gold. So steamy, to the point that I worried my kindle would overheat. Highly recommend.
What an absolute marvel of writing. The more I read of Myra Danvers, the more I fall in love, not only with this series but her overall writing style. This story continues the renegade storyline and let me just say, you are not ready for this level of hotness. And hotness is not the only reason to read. The depth in these characters are what is now a true trademark of Myra's skill level. The fact that Myra Danvers hasn't been around for decades is the only reason she's not yet a household name.
You haven't read this yet? You are truly missing out.
I did not read this. I did not read this. I did not read this.
I read this. All 400 pages.
At 2am. Why? Let’s pretend I didn’t. My curiosity always leads to things like this and then I discover a whole omega verse genre I’m unfamiliar with. How tf did I read the entire thing?? I feel like I deserve a medal. Somehow I got sucked in. Don’t get me started on the amount of words here related to liquids and...*shudders*
I guess if you really don't like Sara Fields' work, then you're not going to like this book either. It is definitely an improvement to Fields' alpha/omega series (because Myra Danvers is awesome), but I'd rather Danvers start from scratch than go off of another's (poor) writing.
Blurb: One of the most original and creative worlds I've read in a long time. Gritty, raw, and absolutely captivating. I couldn't put the book down. ~Alta Hensley, USA Today Bestselling Author
She is the key to his revenge.
What was once a treasured possession of his father is now the most valuable thing in the ravaged kingdom beyond the wall. A female boasting ancient bloodlines and a body which cries out to be mastered.
A rare prize many would kill to claim.
Defiant to the whims of fate, she dares resist, believing the wilds of the forest could hide and protect her.
But nothing will protect her from him.
She will bow at his feet and birth him an army.
From her lips, he tastes vengeance… and soon, the Alpha will rise again to reclaim his throne.

I was excited to read this after getting glimpses of him in the last book. He is everything that Sinadim and Balkazar were lacking for me. He really wants Renegade to be his queen, not his brood mare. I didn't like some of the decisions he made after getting her though. I don't want to give too much away, but someone should have died before they had sex. I also felt like Renegade was less than in this book. She seemed to make a lot of stupid mistakes for no rhyme or reason and she brought up her previous master a lot. I get that he was all she had known, but it feels like she isn't moving past her previous life and is giving him way too much real estate in her life.
I liked how Sickle came into his own more in this one. He stood up for things he felt should be done and wasn't cowed by the Anhur males in the group. I didn't like how the hybrids let him be bullied and didn't make Sinadim aware of something that was obvious. But if they had, the story couldn't have taken the intriguing turn it did. It was nice that everyone got to see Balkazar's true colors and we got glimpses into how his decisions will effect him.
There was less slick, thankfully, in this book. There is one major sex scene and one minor one and they felt drawn out and kind of repetitive of the first book, but there was so much world and story building that I didn't mind it. Sickle's book is next and I can't wait to see how he comes into his own more and where the consequences of things done in this one leave the characters. And no one is really dead until there is a body, so....
Thanks to Booksprout and Myra Danvers for allowing me to read this and give my opinions on it.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book two has us at the end of book one. Renegade has escaped her captors and is trying to find her freedom. She had to put some distance between her captor and his pack. But something is tracking her.....
Gaius is totally feral, Trax Virus has ravaged his mind and body, usually they are just mindless creatures, doomed to walk on his planet a mindless killing/eating machine. But after a chance encounter with something, Gaius is hunting a female! But no ordinary female, it’s his mate! And he’ll doing everything in his power to own her!
This book is different, yes there is brutality, yes there is sex, but to me there seemed more storyline than the first. Renegade is stronger in this book, she’s not going to go down without a fight. She might have been bred to produce young, but after the bitter betrayal at the hands of her King/Alpha, Renegade is looking after number one. And if Gaius is a mindless animal (bitten by a deadly virus) when why didn’t he just kill her? The switch between mindless killer and gentle protector was great to read.
Catching up with the pack (book one, and all they wanted from Renegade was her womb!) that found her then lost her, we see a split in the pack, we see indecision and dissent. Loved a certain member of the pack (Sickle) and wanted the rest of the pack dead!
It’s a reissued version, it’s longer and more detailed. I hadn’t read the original so I can’t make the comparison. But it’s a good read. And I’m hoping to read the next one when it comes out.
I’ve read both Renegade and Giaus, which I was anticipating because he was introduced late in the first book and I wanted to see where the story was going. But after finishing Giaus, I’ll not be reading anymore books in the Feral Court series, here’s why;
Renegade
The first half of the book was excellent, we got an understanding of the world, how it functioned, it’s history and the progression of the h, from timid and submissive to a somewhat badass. However, the second half of the book devolved into this never ending orgy, which I can somewhat understand, because the h will need something more to help push her to be more than just her nature. But the downside was that the storyline, to me, came to a standstill. There was no forward progression, I wanted something more. Everyone had a role to play and they played them well but not to the benefit of progressing THE STORY.
Giaus
Maybe my expectations was too high for this boo, while I gave it a four star that was solely because of the H. The whole book was basically sex, sex and more sex. We get a vague impression of where the story might be heading, at this point I’m just confused about where Danvers wants the story to go. The formed triad at the end of the book only upset me, I see no point to it, the story is based on harems this one just ain’t doing it for me. And I stress again absolutely no story progression, this book could have been so much more but it fell flat. The cliffhanger was lack luster, I am not even remotely intrigued to read the next book.
If you in any way do not enjoy the darker side of things then please know that this book is not for you. There are a number of triggers and I would hate for someone to be unaware of this. Please pelase also read the first book before you do dive into this one as if not you will lose so much nuance that it might spoil it for you. Renegade has left the group of males that she found in the forest unfortunately by leaving them she has exposed herself to a greater danger. One she didn't even know had caught scent of her and was waiting in the shadows for the right time to catch her. Her beautiful defiance leads her straight to her mate and what a mate he is. He is one of the feral. He is not as you would expect in that he is eloquent, strategic, determined, very much aware of his surroundings but also has an intense desire to protect his mate. He has no idea how to care or love but he does what he can within his limited understanding of it. This is offset by his also being brutal, aggressive and single-minded in his pursuit of what he believes to be right. The sweetness is brought not only in part by Renegade but also by Sickle. He is not as physically large as the others but he makes up for that in heart. A heart which he has totally handed on a platter to her. He will do anything and everything to make her life better. Will he ever get the chance to properly be with his queen again? Renegade herself makes another choice that will bind her in the future, will she regret it? What of those males left behind by her? What is lurking out there waiting?
Myra Danvers never disappoints! I devoured Renegade and immediately preordered the next book. Love the complexity and genius of the heroine of the novel. I can’t wait to see how she tames and takes control of the next beast Myra has thrown in her path.
Merged review:
Myra Danvers has done it again, Giaus absolutely blew me away!! Renegade (Feral Court Book 1) was a fast paced story with so many “edge of your seat” moments that it was a literal race to the finish to see what happened. We were left with a cliff hanger and frustration. But Giaus changed direction and built up the characters making you fall in love, lust, and hate. Some authors can’t keep a strong storyline and build up characters at the same time but Myra pulled it off with absolute perfection. I don’t know how many books Mistress Danvers has planned for this series or if even she knows at this point but she has built a solid foundation of amazing characters, intriguing worlds both The Wilds and The Silver City (and maybe a new one in this book) to keep going for as long as the characters allow. There are new heroes, new enemies, new loves, and an ending that will leave you begging for more. Renegade left me wanting, Giaus left me on my knees, head bowed, begging for mercy. Myra Danvers is proving to be one of the literary masters and I can’t wait to see what she does next with Sickle!
OMG! I can't get enough of this series. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the original Renegade series, and I absolutely loved that one, but this rewrite blows those books out of the water. It does end on a cliffhanger, but I'm old enough to remember when authors would release a book a year and if you were only reading the paperback versions you would have to wait 2 years between books. So, I'm fine with cliffhangers and long waits. Myra Danvers stories are well worth the wait, and getting to reread the first book again before the next release always brings me tons of pleasure.
As for this story - I really didn't want it to end and could have happily dove right back in when I finished it. It starts off right where Renegade ends and it takes you on a crazy ride. Renegade is fierce, feisty, independent, and thinks she's smarter than everyone. Then Giaus shows up on the scene. I'm not going to give away any of the plot, but I will tell you that Renegade has met her match.
The story is exciting, fast-paced, and filled with heat. It is wild and full of twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages. My heart was racing and I had to catch my breath after finishing the last page. I honestly think Myra Danvers is one of the best Dark Omegaverse authors on the market and I highly recommend her books.
I hated it while reading one page and loved it again by the time I was reading the next. A riot of emotions ping around in my head, even now just thinking back on the story. These are not lovable characters living in a forgiving environment. It's a harsh world, cruel and unrelenting. It's people are brutal and domineering, using any weakness as an excuse to kill. So as the story continues, the author delivers on the grit and filth that is expected of a society that is driven to always conquer and subjugate others. It's raw and obscene and harsh. This author is one who never backs down from those scenes, so be warned.
In the midst of all, there is a fighter, a Renegade, who still longs to be more than a lowly omega, a breeder. She fights back; she fight against those who seek to take what is not theirs and she fights against her fate. She will fight against the one who calls to her omega and she will against against her very nature. Because it here in the Wilds, there is no Anhur or Harthorion, neither Alpha nor omega; there are only Ferals. She means to rise up and be the Feral Queen of this Court. So all this that carry her out of the Silver City better watch out.

So...where do I begin??? I have to say, I really did enjoy this book. It filled all the little holes that have been growing since the first book was re-released. And like the first book, I enjoyed all the changes that were made to the story. It's been flushed out a lot more and especially with this one, you get to see a savage Giaus do what others won't even consider trying. Sorry no spoilers...you gotta read the book to find out what I mean, and yes, you will know when you read it, LOL. But...the hard part in this new rendition is that I happened to love a lot of what came in the previous work. Apparently there were some things readers did not appreciate about the prior version but I guess I am in the minority. I really thought it was unique writing cause it really differentiate it from the other works other authors were releasing in the same genre. For example, the Alpha domination. That was so shocking to me and yet so incredibly HOT at the same time! I really miss that in this newer version. I mean who knows, maybe Ms. Danvers will have that later in the other books cause there will be more for sure. Overall, still a wickedly sexy read not to be missed if you love Omegaverse and Ms. Danvers.
Where do I even start? NO spoilers! This is part of a series - It ends on a semi cliffy - It is dark Omegaverse - The cast are literal animals- It is a work of fiction- It is NOT real 🙄 (just needed to toss all that out ) Now to the good stuff
Holy hotness !! Giaus blew me away. He is all animal instincts - All Alpha Yet he is also intelligent, cunning and knows when to be patient and when not to He is such a commanding presence
This picks up pretty much where we left off Renegade had left the overly indulged highly arrogant pack behind. Quietly slipping off believing herself sated and, well, still in charge of her freedom. Or she was until a certain king of the lands decided it was time to claim that which he had been hunting.
And his prey? Yep you guessed it - Renegade
From the silent escape to the eyes that only starvation had made savage I was captivated and 100% white-knuckling my kindle (so pretty much this whole episode)
IMO fantasy should test your limits Remove you completely from this realm and toss you out into the unknown And Danvers did just that I was on the edge I loathed I cheered I bit my lip I now impatiently await
Giaus is the second installment in the Feral Court series by Myra Danvers and picks up where Renegade left off. While Renegade thinks she got what she needed from the pack and managed a quick getaway, a bigger threat to her freedom is stalking her every move. Giaus is definitely the apex predator. An Anhur alpha infected by Trax, he is however not ravaged and disfigured by it but rather enhanced. I just loved Giaus and his attempted taming of Renegade. The protectiveness and hints of gentleness he showed to what he percieves as the most precious gift definitely warmed my heart. However, the pack isn't going to let go of Renegade that easily. Rarely have I ever disliked a character as much as I did Balkazar. Not quite sure where Ms. Danvers is going to take his character, but I'm definitely curious to see. Sickle was another standout who exhibited surprising strength and loyalty to his queen. This book is full of heat, action, unexpected twists and unlikely allies. Some quite interesting revelations are uncovered in this installment and it ends on another cliff-hanger that made me desperate for book three.
