Bipolar disorder is a disorder that is affecting millions of people in the world. The sad part of this condition is that only a few patients will consult a doctor to get proper treatment. The main reason for that is the lack of awareness about it. Books like this will enable us to eradicate this problem to a certain extend. This is not a book exclusively written for bipolar patients. In my opinion, every person should try to read this book to become aware of this condition which might help us to reduce the number of undiagnosed patients in our society.

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) states bipolar disorders as a group of brain disorders that cause extreme fluctuation in a person’s mood, energy, and ability to function. This book clearly explains about
Bipolar I disorder where there will be ≥ one manic episode with or without hypomanic or depressive disorder

Bipolar II disorder where there will be a hypomanic and a depressive episode (with no history of manic episodes) and

Cyclothimc disorder where there will be a milder form of bipolar disorder fluctuating between mild depressive and hypomanic symptoms, which lasts ≥ two years.

The author tells us how this disease causes financial and marital disharmony. This is a must-read book if you are a person who loves to know more about the human psyche.
“Many people with bipolar disorder will have trouble holding the relationships. They may move from one person to the next person quickly because of the mood swings that they deal with. They are truly confused about what the true emotion should be in any such situation.”
