Desperate for a shot at claiming his mate, Beau will do anything to get the stubborn owl to give him a chance...even if he has to hijack her investigation. Alice has always prided herself on being an asset to her shifter clan -- that is, until she messed up so badly her Alpha won't even look her in the eye. Confidence shaken and desperate to redeem herself, she has no time for the handsome wolf dogging her steps--even if he is claiming to be her soulmate.
When a mysterious monster starts making trouble in Las Vegas, Alice leaps at the opportunity to prove she is more than just a scatterbrained librarian. A little time away to wallow in self-pity, hunt down a monster, and maybe get a nice tan is exactly what she needs... unless a certain wolf has other plans.
For months, Beau has chased his fiery mate. She's stubborn, smart, and... nothing like he expected. But from the second his wolf laid eyes on the stubborn owl shifter, he's known she was meant to be his. Frustrated but determined, Beau will do whatever it takes to win her over--even if he has to follow her across the country to do it.
A wolf only gets one mate and he'll be damned if he lets her get away.
Alice isn't sure how much longer she can resist his bad-boy charm... or if she even wants to. Enduring the wolf's fierce devotion might just be more than she bargained for.
R. O’Leary lives in North Pole, Alaska (no, really). When she’s not spending half the year freezing to death, she’s writing about shifters and aliens and anything else that strolls through her head. Most of her day is spent in pajama pants, chasing the pack of corgis that have claimed her living room as their own.
Furbidden Attraction is the first installment in R. O’Leary’s new paranormal romance series.
This book was a so-so for me. I was really looking forward to Alice's story, I really liked her in the previous books, but she was just an asshole in this one. Beau was alright, and I get Alice had issues, but she went backwards instead of forwards. She did get there in the end but I could've done without the pity party. Overall I'm still enjoying this series.
He uses his own body to shade his redhead from the Las Vegas sun! His hair thoughtfulness is only outdone by his patience cos BOY does she make him work for it. Months after their first meeting, owl-shifter Alice still refuses to acknowledge the wolf Beau as her mate. To be fair, no one even thought such a pairing would exist.
But Beau is the personification of belief. He holds true and devoted to her and she comes to depend on it when her confidence is shatter. After her personal failure risked the lives of several in her pack, Alice is drowning in guilt. She’s not the blunt and self-assured woman we met in earlier (much to my annoyance but it all plays out).
This addition to the Raven Falls series is more plot driven than the others. Alice’s pack is trying to uncover the supernatural trafficking ring that has been plaguing the east cost. She goes to Las Vegas to investigate a huge surge in disappearances. And Beau tags right along with her. As a “simple mechanic” he does not try to outrank or dominate her. He follows her lead, keeps her fed and plays the occasional bodyguard. Hmmm sounds perfect.
Alice and Beau’s steamy courtship, a mystery unfolding, why do Ash and Hanna's h hate each other? What’s up with Jimmy’s secretive past? Who is bind it all? What will become of Agent Reid? Hmmmmmmmm??
This book was swoon worthy, like who doesn’t want a man who is determined to get the girl of his dreams, his mate, his other half and he’d does it all through so much love and patience.
This story was for Beau and Alice. Beau is a wolf and Alice is an owl shifter. She wants nothing to do with all this mate business and he refuses to give up. Beau charms his way into her heart with his hot guy smirks, blue eyes and his goofiness.
I like that all the books in this series are follow the same story line. We are still look for the bad guys that are kidnapping women and are getting close..I think. Alice feels like she needs to redeem herself after Rainy and Abby getting taken in the last book. So she volunteered to go to Vegas to investigate some missing women. Beau invites him self along and the whole scene made me laugh.
Some sexy scenes and some great lines flow throughout this book. Theres a part in the book that made me cry I won’t spoil that for anyone. I’m off to the next book so enjoy!
I wasn’t surprised to read in the authors notes that Alice didn’t come as easily as the previous characters, Alice is quite a prickly character and it times it felt like the story wasn’t quite in the flow that the prior 2 books were. That said it did not take away from Alice and Beau being a great pairing. One thing I appreciate in paranormal is fated mates easily stays on the side of delightful without risking moving into stalker territory which I imagine with the walls Alice had constructed around herself would have been inevitable in any other world. Beau’s devotion is delightful, he’s not overly complex character but I felt that fit him. I have to admit at times the battle scenes are a little more graphic than I needed but to suffice it to say as my heart has bled for Hannah I will be heartbroken if she doesn’t get a HEA
Beau knew as soon as her saw her that owl shifter Alice is his mate. It's a massive understatement to say she's not on board, at all. After the tongue lashing she gave him the last time they crossed paths, she thought she'd seen the last of him. When he crashes her guilt-driven trip to Vegas to find who's hunting her clan, she's not pleased. As they start to unravel the mystery, she begrudgingly gives in to their white hot passion. They discover its a fight to the death as they confront the serial killer they're hunting. Alice's friend Hannah and the clan she belongs to are eclectic and I hope at a minimum we get her story. For now I'm eager to read Ben's book - Beau's identical twin.
Howling Devotion: A Cursed Romance Book 3 A Raven Falls Cursed Romance By R. O'Leary Kindle unlimited purchase Alice and Beau go to Los Vegas to find the person that is abducting women from Raven Falls. When they get there they find more than what they were looking for. This book, wow, so much happened. It had me going from page one, so much I HAD to stay up all night to read it. I do recommend reads 18 and over because of the content of the book. Just a little bit more than some can handle. Raven Falls Cursed Romances: Furbidden Attraction Unbearable Temptation Howling Devotion Frosted Kiss (Christmas Novella) Deathly Desire (coming 2020)
So many inappropriate jokes, the humor just got lost on me.
Sex jokes after discussing grief for the MMC father and sister, sex jokes after the main characathers encountered a DEAD BODY, and just so many light humors little jokes on situations that should be TOTAL DESASPERATION?? Not my thing.
The bad part is the the main couple is acatually charming and i think if the whole serial killer and investigation plot line were erased we could get a nice sweet story about Alice and Beau just navigating theirs opposite personalites throughout their bond as mates.
Howling Devotion is book three in the series Raven Falls Cursed Romances by author R. O’Leary. Well this one is something else- a bit of a horror theme - lots of bad things happening here. Oh and some serious canoodling- lol. Sorry just wanted to try that word out- anywho, there’s an evil mastermind out there and he’s close, maybe closer then everyone thinks- just maybe he’s one of them. HD- will keep you on your toes and give you a couple of chuckles along the way. Enjoy!!
The plot covers an investigation that Alice and Beau are doing into missing women in the Las Vegas pack. These circumstances force them together and give Alice time to address her feelings about being mated to Beau.
There were a couple of plot and character items that stuck out to me upon reflection. Alice has hang-ups regarding the relationships she has with her parents that stood in the way of her relationship with Beau. But there was a gap in my opinion about that detail. Also, the investigation aspect was lackluster. They didn't learn anything or really piece anything together gradually. The finale felt like we were in an action movie.
This one was not as good as the first two books in the series. Really, it’s about the heroine. She’s just so difficult with her insecurities and frankly mean!
I sped through the end so I almost counted it a DNF. This was a hard one to read.
I really enjoyed this couple. Beau’s persistence and ability to bounce back despite her hurtful words, and Alice with her smarts and snark. The bad guy they face in this one is really terrifying.
I love all Of the Raven Falls Cursed Romance series by R. O'Leary. I never thought I was into the shifter stories but her books are exciting and clever.
Ahhhhh I am officially in L O V E . I have read the first three book of this series and fall in love every single time all over again. Even tho it is necessary to read the books in order for context, I do not bore of the overall plot twist which is refreshing :)
