Stella Boor’s biological father is a nameless, faceless sperm donor. At least, that’s what her parents have led her to believe. Imagine her surprise when she learns he’s none other than rock legend Billy Jameson, and that Billy has died and left Stella a historic inn on a sprawling farm in the mountains of Virginia. A city girl at heart, Stella can’t imagine living anywhere but New York. Her first inclination is to sell the property. But the terms of Billy’s will stipulate she manages the inn for three years before putting it on the market.

Stella considers what’s really keeping her in New York. Her hotel management career is off to a rocky start; she's lost three jobs in less than a year. She's grown apart from her best friend, and her so-called boyfriend is only interested in late-night booty calls. Something is missing from Stella's life. On impulse, she hops on the next train headed to Virginia hoping to find happiness.

When she sees the dilapidated state of the inn, Stella realizes she’s in over her head. But the more she learns about the fascinating Jameson family, the more she wants to know. Why did her mother keep Billy Jameson a secret? Were her biological parents in a relationship, or was she the result of a one-night stand? And why did her father wait until after his death to bring Stella to Virginia?

On her journey to discover answers, Stella learns to have faith in herself and take a chance on love. Join an unforgettable cast of characters in the first installment of the Hope Springs Series.

I read Dream Big, Stella! in one sitting and enjoyed every minute!

Stella’s dream of a hotel management career isn’t off to an illustrious start: she’s lost three jobs in a year. One night after losing job #3, she gets an unexpected visitor, an attorney, who tells her that her biological father, rock musician Billy Jameson, has died and left her an historic inn in the small town of Hope Springs, Virginia.

Stella had always been told that her father was simply a nameless sperm donor, so all of this news is pretty shocking. But with nothing keeping her in NYC, she decides to check out the inn.

What she finds is gorgeous possibility, left in a dilapidated state. She’s scared she’s in over her head, but apparently Billy trusted her, so since the estate will pay to renovate and rebuild everything, she embraces this amazing chance.

But amidst the excitement of restoring and expanding the inn, Stella has lots of questions. If her father trusted her to run the inn, why did he never make an effort to meet her before he died? Why didn’t her mother ever tell her about him? Why does everyone keep telling her she has to discover answers to her questions herself instead of sharing the truth?

This is a fantastic, warm, compelling story about self-belief, love, friendship, ambition, and LOTS of family drama. I wish Hope Springs existed because it sounded like such a great place to visit!

Ashley Farley is an amazing writer I’ve been introduced to by Kate Rock Book Tours, and this is the third of her books I’ve read in the last year. I’ve loved every one of her books so far, and can’t wait to read the second book in her three-book Hope Springs series!

I was honored to be part of the blog tour for this book. Kate Rock Book Tours and Ashley Farley provided me with a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review. Thanks for making it available!

I was thrilled to read an early copy of Ashley Farley's new HOPE SPRINGS SERIES - Book 1: Dream Big, Stella. I loved this book! Ashley's books are immersive and very hard to put down. I tend to read them in one sitting and then I'm sad when it's over, so savor this one, it's worth it. The characters and family dynamics/drama are relatable, twisty, and addicting and the MC is around 30 and will appeal to so many readers and I see a lot of new Ashley Farley fans with this series. Lots of twists, a bit of romance, and as always FAMILY DRAMA. You'll want to go to Hope Springs while reading and you'll be so excited that Book 2 will be available right away! A big 2020 favorite and I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it! 5 sparkly stars.

Dream Big, Stella
Hope Springs #1
By: Ashley Farley

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆

Once upon a time, Stella Boor, daughter of two moms, thought her father was just a sperm donor. Turns out, that is not true. Stella's father was actually a rockstar, recently deceased, and she has inherited a 70 acre farm/inn in Hope Springs, Virginia. There is a catch. This property is worth $20 million, but Stella is required to operate the inn for 3 years before she can sell. Stella is a fledgling hospitality manager in NYC living hand to mouth, so why not try something different? She has many questions about her father and her mothers' lies, so perhaps she will find some answers in Virginia.

Stella soon realizes that the inn needs a major overhaul, and she needs major help. She throws herself into the project with zeal and soon, things start to happen. Some are good, some are surprising and some are not so good. One way or another, the truth about this place and her father will show itself.

Stella has some fabulous friends, potential romance?, in this story. Ashley Farley never neglects her secondary characters, and they populate the story perfectly with love and helping hands and such. Of course, there's gonna be some drama, but isn't that always true in fiction and life?

Stella's journey of self discovery and awareness is just beginning. She is a lovely character with heart and hope. Dream Big, Stella is the first of a new trilogy, and books two and three will be available in short order. I plan on zipping right through them! This book is touching, entertaining and just kind of a feel good read overall. I recommend it heartily!

Dream Big, Stella! is the first book in the Hope Springs series by author Ashley Farley. I loved this book and finished it in just over 24 hours! I really liked the main character, Stella Boor, a New Yorker who inherits a farm complex in Virginia that includes an inn. She feels overwhelmed but decides that she has to make this opportunity work out for her. She steps up to the plate to renovate the inn and other amenities on the property, while discovering a family she never knew she had. It was easy to put myself in Stella's shoes and hope that everything worked out for her. There are many likeable characters, plus a couple that I didn't like, but that's what makes the story interesting. I can't wait to read the next two books in this series as soon as they're available! Ashley Farley certainly writes heartfelt, compelling women's fiction and this book (and series) is a great example of that. I would definitely recommend this book!

This is a delightful, intriguing story about Stella Boor. She has had 3 jobs in less than a year and was fired from her current position as guest service agent at a hotel in New York City. She knows all the best places to shop and the five-star restaurants, however, being nearly 30 years old, she feels there isn’t anything to show for her life. She feels a failure in her chosen profession of hospitality management and dreams of being the Concierge at a big New York hotel someday. Upon arriving home, after the most recently firing, she finds a man in an expensive looking suit waiting outside her apartment. She thinks he must be lost but is surprised when he introduces himself as an attorney from Virginia who is handling her father’s estate. Stella, who was raised by two mothers, living as a gay couple, informs him she doesn’t have a father – only a sperm donor. What a shock to learn she had a known father, but never met him is hard to accept. Learning she has inherited an Inn located on a large acreage in Hope Springs, Virginia is even harder to believe. When Stella, who cannot even pay her next month’s rent, packs up and heads for Virginia, her amazing adventure begins.
This is the first book of a three-book series. From the very first few sentences this book had me hooked and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Ashley Farley is a master at character development. The characters in her books come alive – they are just not a name written on a page. In this case, Stella, is as big and real as any person can be. Each new friend Stella makes in her new home brings more depth and heart to this delightful story. Ashley Farley has once again hit a home run with the beginning of this series.

Ever just want one of those books you can just settle down and snuggle into? You know, one that pulls you in and completely immerses you in its little world? Well I have one for you right here.

Dream Big, Stella by Ashley Farley is the first of a new series she has created called The Hope Spring Series. Book 1 centers around Stella, a girl from NY who has grown up with 2 moms and a “sperm donor” for a dad. When a lawyer shows up at her door telling her she has inherited a $20 million dollar historic Inn from her newly deceased father, she is stunned. Pissed at her moms from keeping her fathers identity from her, recently fired from her job, and unable to just sell the inn outright as a stipulation of the inheritance, Stella decides to hop a train to Virginia to check out the Inn and try to find herself. It doesn’t help that upon arriving at the property, it’s in a total state of disrepair. and the 2 remaining employees are unhappy with her arrival. But the more she learns about her father and the fascinating family, the more she wants to know, so she stays on. As Stella attempts to find answers as well as repair the inn, she might just find a little more than herself along the way.

Another amazing family drama by Ashley Farley. She is already an auto buy author for me, but I can’t possibly say enough about Book 1 - Dream Big, Stella of het new series. Ashley’s writing has a cozy heartfelt way of surrounding you like a big blanket and engrosses you in the lives of everyone you are reading about. She makes you start to care and feel for these characters that are so well written they could be your friends or your own family. And family….. oh she nails it with the family drama, there is just one twist after the other with these people and you never know what she is going to throw at you next. Just in case you are worried, thats not all, she injects some of that classic Ashley Farley romance too. This book is a total winner for any type of reader. I am so excited for the next installment which is actually being published at the end of this month, so keep your eye out.

This is an absolutely wonderful romance and family drama book. I highly recommend this one.

Thank you to the author for the gifted copy.

Book 1 of a 3 book series. Stella is a struggling girl living in NY when she finds out her dad was not a sperm donor but a known person, and he died and left her his farm/inn/resort type situation in Virginia. Stella packed up her few belongings and headed on diem, to find out it needs a massive renovation. With the help of some new friends, she starts making it her own and also finds out more about her family and who she really is.

The author spins the story with her flair for family drama and a tad of mystery surrounding Stella’s past. I was hooked from the beginning and now I can’t wait for books 2 and 3!!!

This is the first book in the Hope Springs Series that releases on September 1st.

In this novel we meet Stella Boor, a young woman struggling to succeed in the NYC hospitality industry. She’s broke, her boyfriend is most likely being unfaithful, and she just got fired from another job. Just when Stella thinks she has hit rock bottom, she learns that she has inherited a run down farm and hotel in Hope Springs, Virginia from a father she never knew existed. When Stella travels to Hope Springs she uncovers many secrets and learns about her own identity.

I loved this book! When I started reading I just couldn’t put it down! This was the perfect read for me as I went back to school during these crazy times. It had everything I love in a story. Secrets, family drama, romance, a charming small town setting, and a strong female protagonist. I love Ashley Farley’s writing and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

The description sounded interesting : a challenge to renovate an old big Inn/hotel (well, maybe a slight deviation of old those B&Bs needing renovations). It started well but, after first third of the book, this theme was put to the back-burner, totally. I had looked forward to all ups and downs and finally results of this work but we never even got to the reopening of the famous old Inn.

Instead it became a story of old grudges and “unknown” relations. How can any writer situate a book in a small old town where for decades “everybody knew everybody” and then make it into a place where “nobody knew nothing about anybody”? For instance, the previous Inn owners were The Family of the town, popular and well-known, still the protagonist had to go to browse old newspapers to find out what happened to them. Not very believable.

I was excited by how many five star reviews this book had, but honestly, I was never gripped by the story.
The writing was a lot of telling, not showing.
The blurb that drew me in wasn’t even the main idea of the story. I was expecting money problems, or true renovation hardships or some twists and turns and answers being revealed by the inn itself, but, no.
Lots of free time on Stellas part… she fires one guy and hires three or four others and they take over everything leaving her with enough time to practically be a stay at home mom to a busy 6 year old.
The romance was very blah. Nothing to get the heart racing, it just kind of happened in one sentence. Idk, the whole thing had a ton of potential, but I feel like it just fell flat.

Based on others' ratings, I'm clearly in the minority here. There was just too much drama (seriously, this could have been a soap opera) and lies by omission by so many characters. Wasn't really my cup of tea overall.

There are a few authors that I will read everything they write and Ashley Farley is one of them. Her southern novels draw me in and make me feel good. There is a complexity to the stories but always a happy ending.

Stella has not had a normal upbringing for her generation. She never knew who her father was until he died and left everything to Stella which included a run down inn in Virginia. Since she works in hospitality this should be a no brainer for her and she decides she is up for the challenge.

We are taken on a journey with Stella to learn about her family but not by anyone directly telling her, they seem to think she needs to seek out the answers. She does take on the challenge and meets some supportive new friends along the way. Cecily and Katherine are about her age and are also challenged by their age and that no one takes them seriously. They are a perfect match for Stella and getting the inn back up and running.

But not everything is easy for Stella. There is a cantankerous groundskeeper that has been around just a little too long and Naomi, a hostile manager that doesn't think she needs to answer to Stella as the new owner. The only thing that saves Naomi is her precious daughter Jasmine aka Jazz. Stella just adores Jazz and takes her under her wing much to Naomi's dismay. There is a lot more to their story but you'll have to read the book to find out more.

No book would be complete without a love interest and that would be Jack. He is the contractor helping restore the inn, but before he and Stella can become a couple he will have to work through some of his baggage.

The book has a nice even flow until closer to the end when a few family secrets are revealed and turn everything upside down. How will Stella react? Will she take it all in stride or hold it against her family?

There are some situations that aren't fully explored such as the completion of the inn, but since this is the first in a new series I'm sure we will find out more about the restoration in future books...at least I hope so! I am picturing it in my mind and can't wait for more descriptions.

This is going to be a winner of a new series....after all, I stayed up very late to almost finish the book!

Sending a huge thank you to @katerockbooktours for the opportunity to participate in a #booktour for Dream Big, Stella! which is book #1 in the Hope Springs series. This was my first book by Ashley and I am completely smitten. I read this in one sitting and NEVER WANTED IT TO END. It was completely charming, totally realistic and heavy with family drama and characters that burst with depth and heart. I felt like I was living alongside Stella as she navigated through the good and bad, and was very invested in her decisions and happiness. The slow-burn romantic connection between her and Jack is respectful and sweet, so if you're looking for steamy, this may not hit the mark. I hope to learn more about their budding love life in book 2. I also loved how Stella stepped into a lot of different roles, including temporary parent and farm owner (both completely new to her) with grace. The only downside to this book is that I wish it were longer! I could have read at least 150-200 more pages, but appreciated the fast-paced and engrossing nature of the story. Ashley, I am your newest fan and can't WAIT for the rest of this series!!

I loved this story, new series by Ashley Farley if book one is any indication this series will be as great as her others. As far as Stella Boor knows her father was a sperm donor. She grew up with two moms in a same sex marriage in a time before it was commonplace. So she is surprised when she gets a call and finds out her father is rock legend Billy Jameson and he has left her a historic inn. She moves to the Inn and starts the discovery of who she is and how she came to be....Not going to give any spoilers. Take my word for it its a great story you will love it. Can't wait for next book in series.Thank you the publisher, Ashley Farley and Georgia's Porch Facebook group for this Advance Reader copy. This review is my honest opinion.

Dream Big, Stella is the first book in the Hope Springs Series and releases on September 1st!⁣

In this book, Stella is struggling to make ends meet in her tiny NY apartment when out of the blue, she inherits a Virginia Inn & Farm from a father she never knew existed. Stella decides she has nothing to loose, so takes over the Inn which involves a massive renovation after years of disrepair. While Stella oversees a team to bring the inn & farm back into shape - she also gets to explore her own history, a small town in Virginia and new dreams for her own life.⁣

I finished this in one sitting and cannot wait to dive into book 2.⁣

I love a good book series where you can keep the story going and find out more about other characters. And Ashley Farley has definitely done that with the Hope Springs Series!⁣

Defining Family, Acceptance, Love

I absolutely loved Dream Big, Stella. While society today is more accepting of the LGBT community, this was not the case for some characters in the story. I can only imagine how real the story situation might have been for those born 40 or 50 years ago (clearly this was an unspoken issue far before 40 or 50 years ago). The story also addresses alcoholism and its effect on others. However, it is a story of discovering one's strengths and working toward the possibilities. Along the way, friendship and love are also found. This was a totally satisfying read.

Dream Big, Stella! is the first book in the Hope Springs series by Ashley Farley.
Stella is living in NYC and has trouble holding down a job. “I’m a city girl. What would I know about managing a seventy-acre farm in the mountains of Virginia.”
Well, her life is about to be turned upside down when she moves to the town of Hope Springs to become owner of a run down estate that she has inherited from a father she never knew.
Stella finds herself on an amazing journey, learning about her past and discovering family along the way.
I can’t wait for the next book!
“If you have faith in yourself, you can accomplish anything.”

I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.

Ashley Farley has done it again! She's written a book with a heroine whose life I would love to live!

Stella Boor is living paycheck to barely paycheck in New York, when she finds out she's inherited an inn in Virginia from her sperm donor father! She's got nothing to lose and everything to gain as she packs up her few belongings and heads to her new life in Virginia.

Once there, she quickly gets busy hiring contractors and meeting new friends including an intriguing older woman named Opal with secrets - and love - to share. She also is enthralled by a little girl who needs her so much right now as her mom Naomi tries to get her life together.

There were a few secrets along the way that I did not see coming, and when revealed, I said something out loud while I was reading much to my husband's confusion!!! "I can't believe xxxxx!"

Stella is an amazing and courageous young woman with a lot of questions about her family. As those are answered, she just embraces all the new information and shines in her new role as inn owner and boss lady!

The ONLY predictable thing about Ashley's books is you will love and want to be the heroine!! I find I always want to "Dream Big, Lori" when I read an Ashley Farley book! We women CAN be more if we only have faith! But Ashley Farley's books are always different!! I've been reading since I was a child, and at 55, I have my favorite authors, and Ashley has rapidly soared to the top of that list! I love that each book she writes is a totally different story that just pulls you in and keeps you up late!!

I'm very much looking forward to the next two books in this series! I love that they will be 'rapid released' and we won't have to wait too long to see what Stella accomplishes next!

Reservation for one, please, Stella!

My mom had a favorite saying when I was wanting something and it went something like this, "Ok, when my ship comes in we'll talk about it." That always left me thinking about said ship and what else I might want or need if it ever came in :-) Let me introduce you to my new friend, Stella, her ship has arrived! Sadly for Stella, her mom wasn't as honest as mine was, she was completely unaware that it had even set sail.

Stella is so much like those of us today that are struggling to make ends meet. Dead end jobs, robbing Peter to pay Paul, and relationships that never steal your heart, all lead up to some pretty discouraging thoughts and feelings. Imagine arriving home from work one day after being fired and finding a lawyer on your doorstep. Imagine being told that your father was a famous musician and that he had left you what was once a profitable business and a large sum of money. Imagine him telling you that you can't just take the money and run but instead you had to work for it; make that business thrive again and maintain it for a period of time. Could you do it?? Would you do it?? My girl Stella...she is doing it!! And she is handling it all with a relaxed, professional ease that, to be honest, I wasn't expecting. Not only is Stella handling the renovations of this property with grace and style but she is being thrown into more life issues than one could imagine. If you remember, I told you that her mom wasn't very honest, so she is learning about a father that she didn't know she had, and along with that father is a family that she didn't know she had; a metaphorical snowball piling on top of a business that was disintegrating to dust.

Ashley Farley writes Women's Fiction from the Heart and she is the best! So I ask you today to join us on this journey. One where you will laugh, cry, and maybe even even stomp your foot a time or two in frustration but, oh, wait...is that Love I see on the horizon?? Yes, I do believe it is!! The best part about Ashley Farley and this journey she is taking us on with Stella is that the following two books in the series are ready to be released. Before you have time to forget what happens in Dream Big, Stella the next book will be in your hands. Congratulations Ashley!! You have done it again!!

I was granted an ARC copy of Dream Big, Stella for a fair and honest review. That's what I have given you and now I must go and see if I can't find my missing ship :-)

Easy to read with engaging characters, but the ending was quite abrupt, like there was someone standing over the author telling them to wrapt up quick already - very unsatisfying.

SECRETS, LIES & ALIBIS

DREAM BIG, STELLA! is the introductory release of Ashley Farley’s new Hope Springs Series and it is chock full of Secrets, Lies and Alibis! Farley has firmly established herself as one of the top authors of Women’s Fiction. This new release proves she has not grown complacent with her writing style, character type or plot. She is not afraid to write about the real problems that families deal with (whether they will admit to them or not) and therefore helps readers to feel like their families may not be so different after all.

This is the story of Stella Boor, a New Yorker who is attempting to have a career in Hotel Management. So far, her career has been a series of setbacks. Her family life is unusual as she has been brought up by two Moms and has been repeatedly told that her father was a sperm donor. Except, he’s not! He’s rock legend Billy Jameson and he’s left her a Historic Inn and Farm. She must stay there and run it for Three Years before she can sell it (estimated worth $20 million dollars!!!) Once Stella gets to Hope Springs, she discovers that NOTHING is as it seems. She senses a conspiracy around her but she just cannot quite put her finger on what’s going on. Soon Stella is buried in Renovation Plans for the Inn & surrounding areas and she has never felt more alive in her life! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she and her contractor had instant chemistry and then formed a friendship before they decided to take things to a deeper level. There are few things I love more than coffee, a warm blanket, and a heartwarming book, and that's exactly what I found when I cozied up with Ashley Farley's Dream Big, Stella (thank you so much to @ashleyfarleyauthor and @katerockbooktours for this gifted copy)! Although it's still pretty warm here in Illinois, cooler temps and changing leaves are just around the corner, and reading about the quaint, cozy, and idyllic Hope Springs Farm definitely gave me fall feelings!

The first of her Hope Springs series, Dream Big, Stella centers around Stella Boor, a big-city New York girl raised by two moms whose world is turned upside down when she learns that her recently-deceased "sperm donor" father has left her a $20-million-dollar historic inn and farm as her inheritance.

Livid with her mothers for keeping her dad's identity a secret, and without a job, Stella takes matter into her own hands by hopping aboard a train to Virginia, ready to learn more about her inheritance, her father, and herself.

As soon as she sets her eyes on the rundown inn, Stella realizes the job of renovating and updating Hope Springs is far bigger than she anticipated, but with the help of a new friends, she has plenty of support to bolster her determination to keep her father's inn and legacy alive.

Full of heartwarming characters, family drama, mystery, plenty of twists of turns, and even a sprinkle of romance, Ashley Farley has penned another fantastic novel! This one wrapped itself around me just like my perfectly worn blanket, and made me feel completely at home. The descriptions of the inn and its surrounding land in Virginia completely transported me to the fictional location, and I loved just about every character, especially Opal and Jazz!

If you're looking for a great book to lose yourself in, look no further! I absolutely loved this book, and I can't wait to read the second installment, Show Me the Way, next! Book 2 is out later this month, so do yourself a favor and pre-order it because my guess is, like me, you'll want more of these characters!

It’s a very exciting time when Ashley Farley publishes a new novel. Now she’s out with the first book DREAM BIG, STELLA! in her new three part Hope Springs series. Get ready to meet all kinds of new people, the kind of people you want to know.

When a young woman summons the courage to take a chance on life, she discovers the career and man of her dreams.

I climbed upon a chair with a cuppa and enjoyed this first part in the new Hope Springs series. I got to know characters and a place I’d very much like to visit. I felt like Ashley’s message in DREAM BIG, STELLA! was to dream big, Cindy. Never let anything sideline you on your journey and be willing to take chances.

Ashley Farley is definitely one of my go to authors, her wonderful stories alway draw me right into the town setting with characters who I become fully invested in. Her latest Dream Big, Stella! book one in the Hope Springs Series is another story I was very happy to get lost within the pages of.

Stella is young adult living in NYC she was raised by her mother’s with the knowledge she was conceived with one of her mother’s using an anonymous sperm donor. She discovers her biological father is not so anonymous, he’s actually Rock Star Billy Jensen. Billy has passed away and left Stella his historic inn with a huge property in the mountains of Virginia. There’s just one catch she must manage the inn for 3 years before she can sell it. Sounds super easy for someone who’s lost her last few jobs in the hotel industry right?

With nothing much keeping her in NYC Stella decides to hop on the train to Virginia, what’s the worst that can happen? Stella goes on an interesting journey of self discovery, determining what she’s capable of, adjusting from city life to a small town life in the mountains. While uncovering her family history and meeting new people along the way. This is a terrific story with a great blend of drama, family, friendship, romance, a bit of humor, some fantastic book references.

I can’t wait to start the next book in the series Show Me The Way on sale September 29th. Dream Big, Stella! is on sale now.

Thank you Ashley Farley and Kate Rock Book Tours for my ARC of Dream Big, Stella! and for having me be part of your wonderful book tour.

As always my reviews are my honest opinions and spoiler free!

You can always depend on an Ashley Farley book. She's one of my go-to authors when I need a good story with a happily ever after ending. Her characters are always well written and feel like people I know and her books are just plain fun.

Stella lives in New York City and is about the get fired from another job - in fact, she's lost three jobs in the last year. When she gets to her apartment after being fired, there is a lawyer waiting at her door. He has come from Virginia to tell her that her father has died and left her his land and an historic inn in Hope Springs, Va. Her mothers have never given her any information about her father so this comes as a complete shock to her. She decides to go to Virginia and check things out and is shocked when she sees the dilapidated state of the inn. . She's met with mixed reactions - the lawyer is happy, the hotel manager is very unhappy but since its stipulated in the will that she has to keep the inn for three years until she can sell it, she decides to re-do the inn and make it popular again. Along the way, she meets more of the people at Hope Springs. She feels like many of them know more of her story than she does and as she gradually learns about her family's past, the more she learns about herself and her strength.. This book is full of family drama and love and lots of terrific characters. I can't wait until book 2 in the series is published.
