For months the wolf has watched his mate from afar. He's finally ready to make his move... that is, if a tiny witch doesn't derail his plans.
A wolf only gets one mate, and Bennett's monster chose the minute he laid eyes on Iris. The smiling ghoul is fierce and beautiful... and way out of his league. That's not going to stop him from getting the girl--assuming he can ever get his foot out of his mouth and actually ask her out.
His wolf is ready to seal the deal, but Bennett's past has other plans. He made a deal to save a life and it's time to pay up... it just never occurred to him that the price might include babysitting a preteen witch. How the hell is he supposed to keep a kid alive when he can't even stop a potted plant from dying?
Iris has had very little time for anything in her life but work. She certainly doesn't have the time to lust after a wolf... but for him, she might just be willing to make an exception. Tattooed and all kinds of sexy, the scarred wolf is exactly the kind of monster she needs in her life--and her bed.
When Bennett ends up on her doorstep saddled with a tiny witch, Iris has no choice but to offer her help. She might be a ghoul with teeth like a shark, but she's not a monster.
Besides, helping the wolf means keeping him close... very close. And with nowhere to hide, how long before they can't help but give in to the wolf's desire?
R. O’Leary lives in North Pole, Alaska (no, really). When she’s not spending half the year freezing to death, she’s writing about shifters and aliens and anything else that strolls through her head. Most of her day is spent in pajama pants, chasing the pack of corgis that have claimed her living room as their own.
Furbidden Attraction is the first installment in R. O’Leary’s new paranormal romance series.
4.5 stars. Ahhh so much better than the previous book! Iris and Bennett were awesome, but Poppy really stole the show! Also I really appreciate the extra epilogue, but I just wish they were a little longer....
DNF at 12%. This book is probably fine however, it starts off with the two of the main characters totally into each other but not saying anything and being interrupted. I have a feeling this romance is going to drag on and on and I just don’t feel like it.
Adorable fun paranormal romance! Forced Proximity!! BEST IN THE SERIES!
I loved Bennett and Iris! I was so excited to hear about the medical doctor ghoul hiding in the morgue from the first book and the hint of her being mated to Bennett.
Bennett saved his brother for a price, but now he has to protect (babysit) an elementary school witch from vampires. Unfortunately, his charge shows up as he is trying to ask out his mate for the first time and gets stuck living with the preteen girl in his mate's house. He was hoping for a dinner date with his mate, now they are living under the same roof and "co-parenting" this witch.
Iris has enough stuff going on trying to help heal the shifters and werewolves that were experimented on by the UOD branch of the FBI, but now her life has two new people in it. But if she has to burn a little bit in the sun or eat human food that tastes like sawdust, she will continue to do that for the chance to be with the mate she waited to make the first move and to protect the witch who has worked her way into her life and her heart.
I related to Iris so much! She is the levelheaded center of this temporary family unit and I love how she is able to take it all in stride. Iris and Bennett are so secure in each other, and I loved how they were both on board with being mates with each other from the first page. So later on, when stuff gets hard, they are able to support each other in beautiful ways. I also love how they had an honest conversation about if they actually wanted kids. Sometimes in paranormal romance, it is a given that both individuals want families and the book always end in a pregnancy.
This book was about Bennet and Iris, you learn a little about them in the first couple of book. Iris is a ghoul with razor sharp shark teeth and big eyes and oh yeah she eats dead people. None of that matters to her big shy wolf shifter mate Bennet. Bennet is the shy quiet type full of tattoos and a narley scar. He is also the twin brother of Beau.
Bennet gets a surprise left with him when a favor is promised to his witchy friend gets called in, boy was he in for a shock when it’s babysitting duty. Poppy is the 10yr old sister of Juniper. Juniper is off on a sketchy mission and needs Bennet to keep his sister safe from vampires..yup it’s a whole thing. The best part is Bennet finely works up his courage to ask Iris out when the kid get dropped at his feet and Juniper wards the house so he has to stay there!
There are plenty of steamy scenes in this book. I think Cam is becoming my new favorite..what can I say he is a weirdo and I like it.
This book ties up a few loose ends from the other books but I don’t want to spoil anything but I was pretty shocked at who the traitor was like I just didn’t see it coming.
In this supernatural world, even ghouls have mates ... Admittedly I struggled a bit with a ghoul as the protagonist much less the love interest. I give the author credit because I was invested in Iris and Bennett's story in spite of the ghoul factor. They knew as soon as they locked eyes they were mates but Bennett dragged his feet. After his twin's near death in the previous book, Bennett realizes waiting is foolish. As luck would have it, when he makes his move, the witch who saved his brother collects on the favor he owes her - watching her 10 yr old sister. Iris and Bennett haven't been on a one date but are now living together and raising a kid - complete w/soccer practice, algebra homework and a witch who can tweak the odds in her favor. Plus there are vampires hunting her. We find out what happened to Bennett's sister Bea and see the couples from the earlier books. Life or death action, sexy times and plenty of snark make this a must read series.
I love some will-they-wont-they tension, but after three books it was a welcome relief to have two people ready to love each other. Okay, so maybe it actually took Bennett a couple months to build up the courage - but once he showed up to Iris’s front door they were both in it to win it!
And ten seconds later Juniper shows up to add babysitting to the mix. Bennett goes from being a broody bachelor to living with his mate and a 10-year old kid, all before lunch time. But Iris is unfazed. She takes them both in and they proceed to run their pop-up family while fighting the vampires that have been targeting little Poppy.
A lot of plot lines get tied up by the end of this book. Watching Iris be a badass and Bennett work through his insecurities was so charming.
Deathly Desire: Raven Falls Cursed Romances book 4 By R. O'Leary Kindle unlimited purchase For months, Iris had waited for Bennett to acknowledge the bond between them. She knew he had a lot on his plate or was it because she waa ghoul? Was it her gold eyes and gloomy, gray skin? Or the fact that she was forced to consume dead people to survive? I have fallen in love with these characters from book 1 in this series and I've loved every minute of this ride. Juniper gets her book next. Furbidden Attraction Unbearable Temptation Howling Devotion Frosted Kiss (Christmas Novella) Deathly Desire Bewitching Allure (summer 2020)
Deathly Desire is book four in the series Raven Falls Cursed Romances by author R. O’Leary. This tale is brilliant- the odd couple- not so odd. Bennet and Iris seem perfect only this an ummm… let’s say extra bundle. Deal made, now time to pay the piper- lol. Anywho, this bundle brings lots of problems, with one exception an answer to finding what was taken. Now there’s been a secret this whole series a traitor(s). Even I was not prepared for this one- let me tell you- OMG!! Enjoy!!
It’s not that I don’t like Bennett and iris and the hijinks but it felt that it relied a bit too heavily on the dated mates component. With them not fighting the attraction it just was and therefore there was no chance to join them in the journey of falling in love. It felt a little like tying up loose threads, interrupted by battles and sex. That said Iris is a kickass heroine, Bennett delivered countless times, the gift - swoon and a sassy baby witch are a great combo
This was such a great book. As the series continues, shy Bennett finally gets up the nerve to ask his mate on a date. Iris has been waiting for him to approach her as they both know their fated mates. Action and suspense keeps you on the edge with a surprise at the end but they still get their happily ever after. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Gah!!! The more I read the more I need!!! I was so freaking excited for Iris' story!!! Oooh and broody Bennett turned out to be an amazing and swoonworthy mate. The writing style is spot on perfect. I don't need to skim over any sections and look forward to seeing what these amazing characters will get into next.
As well as all the other books in this series this book is worth of the 5 stars. Even tho it did not have such a huge plottwist as the other ones, it was just as satisfying to read. All the loose threads were tied and overall it was just an enjoyable read with fiercely interesting characters such as Cam :)
I liked this book more than the last one I read from this series, but just like that one, it wasn’t particularly memorable to me. I liked the characters well enough but the plot was a bit boring and I feel like I was waiting for it to be over before I was even halfway into it.
I never suspected that the traitor who sold Bennett's sister was his own uncle. Bennett had gone to finally ask his mate, Iris out and ended up babysitting a little witch. Same little witch who ended up helping them to find his sister, that his uncle sold into shifter slavery. Still want to see who is the leader of the crooked shifters.

This book was not quiet as exciting as the ones before it but it was okay. I think I thought Bennet would be a different character and it threw me during the whole read. Mystery ending is closer.
I enjoyed Iris and Bennett’s story. I feel bad for the ghouls, can’t even enjoy regular food. It was good to see some questions answered for the bigger plots. And I did not see that spy thing coming, very well buried lead.
Another knock it out of the park, inhale it in one night, swoon fest from O'Leary! The perfect balance between rich, edge of your seat plot, steamy perfectly paced spice, and sassy, giggle inducing romance!
I started with the 1st book and am blasting through the rest. I love the characters, the littles, the magic, the scary parts, and the sexy parts are really good, too!
So enjoyed this series. This book was so cute with Iris telling Banner to calm and they both bumbled around and had a great HEA. Hope Bea finds happiness. And Poppy was a hoot.
I like how in this book you can see the other books consequences on the characters. Like everything is not fine on them just because they are no longer the main character.
