Killer Angel: A Biography of Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger

Rate this book
In life and death, the progenitor of the grisly abortion industry and the patron of the devastatingly destructive sexual revolution has been lauded as a “radiant” and “courageous” reformer.5 She has been heralded by friend and foe alike as a “heroine,” a “champion,” a “saint,” and a “martyr.”6 Honored by men as different and divergent as H. G. Wells and Martin Luther King, George Bernard Shaw and Harry Truman, Bertrand Russell and John D. Rockefeller, Albert Einstein and Dwight Eisenhower, this remarkable “killer angel” was able to secret away her perverse atrocities, emerging in the annals of history practically vindicated and victorious. That this could happen is a scandal of grotesque proportions. The organization she founded, Planned Parenthood, is the oldest, largest, and best-organized provider of abortion and birth control services in the world.12 From its ignoble beginnings around the turn of the century, when the entire shoestring operation consisted of an illegal back-alley clinic in a shabby Brooklyn neighborhood staffed by a shadowy clutch of firebrand activists and anarchists. The organization has used its considerable political, institutional, and financial clout to mainstream old-school left-wing extremism. It has weighed in with sophisticated lobbying, advertising, and back-room strong-arming to virtually remove the millennium-long stigma against child-killing abortion procedures and family-sundering socialization programs. Planned Parenthood thus looms like a Goliath over the increasingly tragic culture war.

Phenomenal. Grant does a wonderful job at providing a summary of Margaret Sangers life. Sanger, Hitler, Mao, Stalin, etc. These types of human beings share a place in the same category. Except, Sanger has managed throughout the decades to not be categorized amongst that group. She far outweighs the murder count under name. The definition of evil, wickedness, and foolishness on display. Please read this, some of the most important literature of our day!

Very much enjoyed the short, to the point form of this book. To really appreciate this book you have to accept the premise that a person’s character heavily influences the things they participate in or create. If you buy that, the book delivers excellently on its thesis.

Wow, this biography of Margaret Sanger is really informative of who she really was! I only had a vague idea about her story; learning just how wicked she actually was is super interesting and disturbing. I’d definitely recommend this book. It’s a short book, so it’s a quick read. The author has a good vocabulary though, so I felt the need to Google a word he uses about every 30 seconds or so of reading haha.

Margaret Sanger rarely gets classified alongside characters like Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, etc. Grant explains why this is the case, and why it should Not be the case.

George Grant is obeying Ephesians 5:11 here- exposing the life and legacy of Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger. If you look Sanger up online, she is often portrayed as a champion. Only this past year has the Planned Parenthood distanced themselves from her name during the height of public outcry against racism. Even an article discussing Planned Parenthood of NYC removing Sanger’s name from their building and a nearby street sign, explained how Sanger was motivated by care for women. The reality is far from that. Sanger should be listed alongside Hilter, Stalin, And Mussolini. This isn’t exactly a light, fun read. But it should be read.

My only complaint about this book is that sometimes he uses unnecessarily large words where simpler ones would have done well. Which makes it sound just a bit snobby here and there.

But overall, he does an excellent, excellent job of simply narrating the story of a life. Of a sad, broken, twisted life that has profoundly influenced our modern world. Margaret Sanger was a broken woman who spent her entire life searching for something that would fill her up. She went through money and "lovers" and passions and power and drugs and alcohol like sorting through laundry looking for something to wear. She never found what she wanted, but she (with the help of many) put America further down the path to destruction. She is a cautionary tale. Her life still impacts us and it is good and important to know her story.

This book sifts through the root sins and fallen nature of Margaret Sanger that led to her leading the charge in ending countless human lives. It helps the reader gain understanding as to why you cannot simply disassociate PP from its wicked founder, but have to reckon with evil that was behind it from its inception and how it indeed, tragically lives on in the organization today.
A hard, and heart-breaking, read. But so important.

This book was short but impactful. It was fascinating and horrifying to hear what shaped this truly horrific human being into what she became. I was astounded to learn that her father was part of Sherman’s March on the southern homes and Atlanta and how his horribleness seemed to shape Margaret’s life. What a sad, terrible, disgusting life and legacy. Excellent eye opener though. Well written.

Fantastic and haunting. I knew that Margaret Sanger was wacky, but I had not idea how deep her depravity went. George Grant is a great storytelling and perceptive commentator. I really enjoyed the last section on the implications of Sanger’s life on the legacy of Planned Parenthood. It is impossible to divorce her evil from the evil they continue to perpetuate through the organization. We must not let history be erased by those who don’t want to face the truth of PP terrible founder and continue to expose the horrors of the abortion industry. I’m very thankful for this work.

Enemy of the poor and minorities and inspired (though more effective than) Hitler, Stalin and Mao. Recommend this read.

A Concise and interesting read. To be honest I think I would’ve enjoyed a longer and more in-depth book, but this was written to be concise, and it was.

I went into it feeling like I already had a pretty good handle on who Margaret Sanger was, but I actually learned a fair bit.

I recommend it not just for pro-choice friends you want to convince, but for Christians who are simply interested in knowing more about the person who caused so much carnage in our world.

An absolutely chilling account of the woman who founded Planned Parenthood. George Grant does a fantastic job of exposing the darkness and evil that filled Margaret Sanger.
She clearly was discontent in life and would stop at nothing to spread the sin in her life, tearing down whoever she needed to to get her way.
In a time when Planned Parenthood, Women's Choice and Feminism reigns supreme this book is a fabulous exposure of the true character and person that Margaret Sanger was: a racist, murderer of unborn children.
I dare you to read this book and not see Planned Parenthood/ Sanger for what they really are, and realize the tragedy of the millions of children that have been innocently killed by this one woman's evil agenda.
I highly suggest listening to this podcast to find out even more. https://www.sheologians.com/margaret-...

I listened to this on Audible and found it very well written, VERY engaging.

However, when I finished I looked her up on the internet to check out a few things about her family and by the time I had glanced over the Wikipedia article I wished I had read a hard copy - with footnotes! - because her fans portray her VERY differently. Now I want to see some of the original sources.

I tend to believe Dr. Grant's portrayal accurate because it fits with what I know of the history of her times... but I would like to "see for myself."

It was definitely worth the read in any case. It made me think.

Truly horrifying. Grant does a great job of showing how each step of Sanger’s life led to the next, getting darker and darker as she abandoned her family and plunged deeper and deeper into the progressive ideology of eugenics and sexual experimentation. He weaves a lot of Chesterton quotes throughout the biography, which I thought was an interesting way to illuminate different aspects of Sanger’s story. It certainly feels like the biography of a serial killer. I’m glad it was brief.

What an eye opening look into the horrors of the founder of Planned Parenthood. So many are deceived by the fruit of this evil woman who was hell-bent on sexual freedom at all costs. A must read for our current moment, this book adds an eye opening look into the historical context of what has become an insurmountable divisive issue in our culture. May God use this great book to open the eyes of the pro-choice movement and change hearts.

This is a short telling of Margaret Sanger's life and decent into the infamous founder of Planned Parenthood. While George Grant tells her story well, he does it in a rather wordy way, which can make the conciseness of the book become muddy and dense at times. An author should always be aware of being too wordy or not wordy enough.

Apart from this observation, I found this to be a good biographical take on the evil woman that is Margaret Sanger and her horrid legacy.

A very accessible look at the life and career of one of the most vile human beings that has ever walked the Earth. The fact that so many people praise her as a great humanitarian, both in her lifetime (Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower!) and today, shows how morally degraded the West is and has been for well over a century.

Dark, sad, sobering and insightful. May God’s kingdom come on earth as it in in heaven and may Christian brothers and sisters expose the truth of abortion and the sinful murder that it is.

Every Christian should read this and then read about stories of the gates of hell not standing before the Church right after.

Margaret Sanger is arguably worse than Hitler or Stalin. In many ways we live in the world of erotic slavery and anxiety-ridden aimlessness that she fought for. Can’t be believe she has any shred of credibility still. May God break the arm of the evildoer and Planned Parenthood perish as an organization.

This was a phenomenal book. I was intrigued with this book because the author did a deep dive into her life and didn’t just talk about where he disagreed with her (as you all should 😉) I agree that she is nearly as heinous as Hitler himself.

Wow! I had no idea the story behind Planned Parenthood and this book not only gives the history behind the woman who started the organization, but the truth behind why she started it. I didn’t realize that Planned Parenthood is a disguise for a more evil plan.

A clear sighted look into the founder of Planned Parenthood, pointing to the simple fact that compassion and care have been absent from the organization from the very beginning.

Disturbing, chilling, and sobering. Nice quick read for those who want a better understanding of the woman behind Planned Parenthood. The book shows how the modern organization we know today mirrors the life and values of the depraved woman who started it.
