CARRUTHERS and the Giant Eagle This is the first novel in the three-book series. The stories, with a strong spiritual flavor, are about Carruthers, an eight-year-old adopted boy, who has telepathic powers and who lives on a farm adjoining the Kruger National Park. Using love waves, Carruthers communicates with Edgar, a gigantic Eagle, who flies him around. Along with his secret guardian angel, Honor and his best friend Joe, the four become entangled in some incredible and hilarious exploits. Tammy and Beth, Mr Izzy Goldman’s twin daughters from an adjacent farm, became part of Carruthers’ group. Game wardens are amazed to see Carruthers, mounted on the back of an elephant, instructing the herd to build a firebreak, during a runaway fire. Captain George Zwele of the local Police finds it difficult to submit accurate Police Reports, when describing the bizarre capture of two poachers. Carruthers stops a lion from attacking a baby buck then learns a harsh lesson about animal behavior. Carruthers fiercely loves his adoptive mother, Maureen Finch, and regularly talks to God. He often counts on his angel during difficult and dangerous situations. One such shocking incident is when he faces the wrath of his crazed step-father, Donald Finch, who is beside himself and has a rifle.
