Who knew that getting a flat tire could completely change your life? Well, in this case Olivia sure didn’t. Growing up in a VERY strict household has held Olivia back from living her life to its full extent…that is until Trace, the ultimate Prince Charming stops to help her change her flat tire.
“Life is not measured by the amount of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.”
Olivia is a twenty year old college sophomore who is living, but not really LIVING. She had an awful upbringing courtesy of her Preacher father. Because of this, she makes a Live List, which she believes is the only form of rebellion she has. I love how this list was a huge part of this book, through this list Olivia was able to finally start her life. In the beginning of the book, I have to admit that she drove me a bit crazy, mostly because of she seemed a bit too naïve and prudish. But about halfway thru the book, I started to warm up to her and was amazed by how much she had come full circle by the end of the book.
“I couldn’t help believing, that somehow, my list had brought me to Trace. I knew that seemed childish, like someone believing in fairies, but that is how I felt.”
Trace, or Prince Charming (yes, I like to refer to him as that as he totally is) is the twenty-year old mechanic who saved his damsel in distress not only from a flat tire but from herself. He took it upon himself to get Olivia to finish out her Live List while making not only her by me fall in love with him. I mean, how could you not fall in love with a tatted, witty, and charming hunk? Trace did have his share of pain that he’d been through in the past, so it was great to see him overcome that with Olivia’s help.
“You’re not the kind of girl that guys fool around with Olivia. You’re the kind of girl, that when a guy finds her, he’ll do everything he can to keep her.”
To sum up my review, I thought this was a very enjoyable book. I really adored Trace and Olivia’s relationship. I was surprised that it was as sexy as it was, yes, that is one thing I love in my books. Another important thing on my list is that I actually thought this love story was believable. There were no declarations of love within the first 3 days of meeting each other, which if you know me completely drives me crazy.
“To a guy, a sweatshirt is like practically wearing a chastity belt, telling him that these goods are not for sale.”
As a side note, Michalea, if you are reading this, please give us readers (or even just me) Avery and Luca’s story. I totally loved Avery and would rally for her to be my best friend any day.
4.25 stars!
