For the YA audience this book has really engaging characters and a magic system worth reading. It has an exciting action packed finish that will have you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put the book down from about half-way into the book to the conclusion. I recommend having a couple of tissues handy for the final part of the book. I like that it doesn't end with a cliff-hanger and resolves nicely. I look forward to the sequel as there are many thing looming ahead in the unknown.

The start is a bit slow and confusing, but by half-way it moves really well. You won't waste your money. A good start for a promising author.
