A beautiful therapist has a new client. A handsome man with an air of danger...
Except - what if he isn't?
A man that is...
Dr. Simone Radcliffe appears to have it all. Adored by her hit talk-radio show fans, the toast of London's high psychiatry set......brains, beauty.
Except - what if all that glitters is nothing more than Fool's gold?
Simone may have it all, but the truth is...she's utterly miserable...lost even.
Almost thirty, and wondering if her life is on the right path, Simone's dissatisfaction is keeping her up nights. Alone. The Rocky Road ice cream she regularly consumes is clearly a metaphor on the state of her love life.
No, things aren't looking particularly rosy for the good doctor as the big 3-0 looms.
Until...
Tall, dark and dangerous waltzes through her door and blows her mind.
He claims he's immortal...that there is more to this world - a great danger is coming.
Oh dear. Handsome, but mad as a Hatter. There's always a catch, isn't there?
Poor Dr. Radcliffe. Medical school did not quite prepare her for this! Will Simone be able to handle the heat? Or will Dante's inferno be too much for her to take?

No plot spoilers No potential triggers (at least up to 44%) I just couldn't get into the book, the grammar is absolutely perfect, unfortunately it's almost archaic in its speech. I doubt even the queen retires to her bedchamber, and in the same sentence the FL 'hoped to get lucky' it's contradictory and incredibly formal, to the point it became painful to continue. I can understand a three hundred year old vampire using the speech pattern three hundred years ago, but he has remained cognizant of society so why would he continue to do so? Then there is the FL who speaks equally formally, a grown woman born in 1988? Irrespective of her education, a modern woman wouldn't speak this way. The more disturbing thing is they both think formally! The plotline would seem to be the usual vampire trope with the usual plot devices, but clumsily utilised. You can see how the storyline will develop within a few pages. Now, it may be surprise ending but I reached the point where I didn't care. I dislike giving a poor rating, the three stars are due to the outstanding grammar not the plotline or characterisation. The main characters are one dimensional, Vlad, (a bit of intended light fun that fails because the character is flat) is a playboy with super spy capabilities apparently, off to organise the resistance with help from a good old fashioned telephone exchange. I don't know if the author intended a slow burn romance, by 44% there had been one kiss, but I don't understand how the FL can go from thinking he's a nut job (her professional opinion as a certified psychiatrist) to 'okay, what can I do to help you defeat the baddies ' without giving any reasoning behind her decision. There is a little action, but mostly the book moves forward in a never ending series of he said that so we did that then this happened so he said this and I did this. It became too tedious to continue. I wish the author all of the very best wishes in developing their writing career, but remember people use contractions even when they think.
Dr. Simone Radcliffe is a psychiatrist and radio personality. Dante Polidori is an older vampire holding the position of Watcher. He gets visions but needs a muse to accomplish the goal. As this vampire listens to her over the radio, she draws him in. Then, he returns the favor by bringing her into his life.
This Paranormal Vampire Romance is outstanding. The story moves beyond the modern world into the hidden world of vampires. Within this, the main characters must unravel the Haan prophecy at their own peril. The push and pull between the main characters adds a delicate dimension to the tale. The end is excellent.
Entertaining. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Romantic. Steamy. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
Although initially something of a slow burn the tempo in this book does pick up. The world building and characters are really good and as a Brit is was nice to read something set here in London. There is plenty of vamp action and needless to say our heroes are hot. I also enjoyed Simone's sass and I loved her best friend Penny, she's one fiery lady and I can't wait to see how things pan out with her and Vlad. Dante is Simone's eventual love interest and I found his character believable even if he is a paranormal being. A refreshing PNR with a slightly different vibe to many I have read of late.
The idea was good in the this novel and certainly it held possibilities however something about the pacing made it hard to get through in places. I found myself skipping sections. There is an air of detachment that hinders connection to the story and especially to the characters. I kept thinking something was missing. Other readers may disagree.
I don't know why, but I was pretty bored reading this. It started off seeming like I would get into it, but by 30% I couldn't have really cared less about what was happening or about to happen. I can so it ended better than I thought it would but... That's not saying much.
I'm loving the book it's HEA! Part of a larger series and I will be checking out the other 2 books! This is well written and phenomenal characters! And each book will be new main characters!😍😮😍
This book didn't disappoint. The premise of a Vampire going to see a therapist what could possible go wrong. It was refreshing that Simone was a strong women, independent women who wasn't afraid to speak her mind and didn't just sit back and do as she was told. While it was a bit predictable in places it didn't take away from the story. Only complaint I had is towards the end certain things wasn't explained very well. Unless I missed it since I was reading late into the night. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Kindle copy.
I loved Simone she’s a psychiatrist and she’s a strong and sassy woman but she’s lonely until a man turns up and asks for her help Dante he tells Simone that he is a 300 year old vampire of course she thinks that he is crazy but she listens to what he says. Sorry guys no spoilers I loved this new kind of vampire romance I loved the characters, the descriptions and the plot and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
