“They say God cursed women to bleed every month because Eve had sinned, but that’s a lie, He cursed us to fall for the man that would never choose us and have us spend the rest of our lives blaming ourselves for being gullible enough to think we were worthy.”
Kerina Jordan is no stranger to life’s luxuries. She lives her life to the fullest, fulfilling a void left in her since she was twelve years old. Everyone believed she was shallow, extra, dramatic. She was okay with that.
She didn’t care about everyone’s opinions… until him.
Suddenly, she questions who she is. She tries to let go of the privilege she was given. She tries to become Adam Keller’s version of the perfect girl. All for it to blow up in her face.
Shoved into a world of betrayal, heartbreak, and addiction Kerina tries to navigate between who she is and who Adam wants her to be.
She wanted to be his choice, she was just the option.
Please note that this book contains strong themes of addiction, suicide and depression. The book explores these themes in depth. If you are easily triggered by the above, please do not read this book. Your mental health is more important than a book sale.
Yajna Ramnath writes like she’s crafting spells—equal parts beauty, danger, and a little chaos.
An author of fantasy, romance, and deliciously dark romance, Yajna builds worlds where love burns, bleeds, and sometimes bites. Her stories are filled with powerful heroines who don’t wait to be saved, dangerously charming love interests who toe the line between savior and sinner, and plot twists sharper than a dagger in the dark.
When she isn’t tormenting her characters (and her readers) with emotional rollercoasters and morally grey dilemmas, she’s doing something equally intense—headshotting opponents in Call of Duty Mobile like the badass she is. Let’s just say her trigger finger is as fast as her plot twists.
Based in a world of words, Wi-Fi, and caffeine-fueled nights, Yajna writes not just to tell stories—but to create entire emotional black holes you’ll gladly get sucked into.
Dark romance with heart. Fantasy with fire. Love that lingers like a ghost.
Welcome to her world. Don’t forget to bring snacks—and maybe a sword.
First time read Yajna Ramnath book. The blurb really hook me up :D
I cry, i laugh and im awe of this book. The story really goo, the title didnt lie its about worthy of her life. Gosh i feel sorry for Mia, her childhood really shitty and really affected her.
And Aiden, oohh wow my impression at first what kind of jerk he is, too full about him self lol.. But slowly he got better, acually he really nice man :D But yeeeaaaaahhhh of course he did the superr stupid things. I wanted to slap him! But my rage is for her sister, i wanted to kill her badly!! Ughhhh
In the end, i feel the story in hurry... Its darn fast! Fuck shit happen and voila ending already... But nonetheless i like this book a lot :D
The story of Mia who due to her childhood has been made to feel unworthy. I really liked the concept of the story and especially the ethos behind it, which I felt the author explained at the end. It's s 3.5 star read for me, mainly because I thought significant events were kind of skipped over, and it was a quick read when really so much more could have explained in greater details. None the less a decent read but I just felt it lacked some depth.
Yajna you did a fantastic job once again, had the best time reading this one, it’s a really emotional book and those are the ones that I love to read.
Let’s start with the star of it all, our beautiful lead character Keri, she has been through so much since she was a little girl and has always felt like the option in all her relationships even with her parents, so what does she do? she rebels against it all and causes trouble so she is sent to college to calm down but it actually cause more problems.
She has real struggles that no one sees because she wears a rich spoil brat mask most of the time, so no one sees her real self, that way everyone sees a happy but problematic person and not the suffering unhappy girl that she is in the inside, in reality she has a beautiful personality that she has a hard time seeing because of her depression.
There is a scene in the book that was my favorite in where she goes to a bar with live music, she’s been feeling down because something is wrong with the guy she is seeing and in there she finds out what is wrong in their relationship and she goes up to the stage and starts telling him off but in the most genius way posible, like mic drop 🎤 man! That scene was awesome, wish I could’ve done that a time or two. 😂
I was crying most of the book and that for me says it’s a great read, I felt her heartbreak her happiness all of her emotions really. There are some characters I did hate and I was a bit mad at Keri during some parts but I know where she was coming from, at the end she pulls through and that’s what I loved about her, that she let others help and that and with her own strength she comes at the end of the tunnel with a whole new perspective on life.
This book centers on Keri, it’s her life and it’s a wonderful story, It does have a Happy ending.
I just finished this book, but I'm not quite sure what to say, so I'm going to ponder about this book and come back tomorrow and state my thoughts more.
From what I have right now. The plot is very awkward. The overall idea of a girl who leaves her home to escape her dysfunctional family and ends up moving in with a hottie is very interesting. The main female has issues that should have been furtherly dramatized to create a stronger plot and make it emotionally appealing to readers. However, it's quite hard to critique this story because it was a novella and it was short. I think the biggest issue may have been that the climax was resolved utterly quick and easy. It didn't quite make sense with me
I'll be back tomorrow to finish this review. I need to ponder more
