Facing the wrath of a Transcendent, John is forced to make a choice: he can either help humanity or pay for the crimes he committed.
Unaware of what this involves, he is suddenly thrown into a war that has raged for eons.
But the battlefield is bleak. The stakes are high and humanity is losing. Despite ancient cultivation methods, their steady progress in the fight against Beastmen has vanished.
Without change, only a dark defeat remains in the horizon.
Can John and his allies save them?
Read this sixth issue of The Idle System to find out. We can’t promise an absence of planetary-level destruction or untold levels of martial prowess. If morality doesn't chain you, we welcome you in this journey!
This book was great! Seeing John grow in ways not strictly related to or restricted by the system was one of the main things I’ve been waiting to see happen. It was kind of refreshing to see the OP MC get his ass handed to him a few times to see how he dealt with it.
The progression of the sect, his friendship with Luke, the war, new abilities, and everything else were all a bit different than I expected, but in an interesting way.
First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.
To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.
To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.
To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sure John is OP. That didn't bother me at all. I liked the flow and pacing. That made reading very satisfying. Moreso than many LitRPG, this book in the series read like a translated cultivation novel. Sects, armies, many battles with John running around solving a puzzle getting everything lined up just so for a dramatic finish. I had fun and I'm glad that there are two more books to come. Score: 8.7 out of 10
I thought that by this point in the series the power creep would have eliminated any further chance of growth happening, but I’m glad to be wrong. More mischief ensues and you should totally read this book!
This book was like a little novela within the overall series. There are still a lot of unanswered questions but overall I enjoyed this little adventure
