Love is in the sir as Layla re-Binds her dragons
What an incredible book. After upsetting her dragons in the last book, Layla needs to reconnect with her dragons and re-Bind them before Hunter can wreak any more havoc, but they all need to trust each other again before that can happen. Layla spends time with each of them and I can't even begin to describe how good all those fantastic re-Binding days.were, how beautiful, how sensuous, how intimate and loving.
I know you don't have to choose but with this series, it really is truly impossible. With most RH series I've read, I have a favourite but only just. All the men in an RH are usually great but one just has the edge over the others. But not this time. I love all these dragons so much that whoever is on the page at the time possesses me. #WhyChoose has never been more apt. I love Reginald, because of his arrogance, his self-assurance, and his insecurity when it comes to Layla. I love Dusk because of his confidence, his need to put everyone before himself, and his insecurity when it comes to Layla. I love Fury because of his strength, his sheer joy in the ordinary things in life, and his insecurity when it comes to Layla. I love Rhennic because of his warm and sunny nature, his need to protect, and his insecurity when it comes to Layla. I love Adrian because of passion, his single-mindedness, and his insecurity when it comes to Layla.
Layla's drakes are unable to see what they bring to the Bind that makes them worthy to be part of it, and their re-Binding days give Layla a chance to reassure them and show them how much she loves them and needs them. All except Adrian, of course, who does what he always does. He pushes Layla away before she can re-Bind him and shuts everyone out to try and and deal with everything alone. The story really takes off when the others catch up with him and the subsequent events took my breath away.
Everything is coming together for the next book, which is the last in this series, and after all that they have gone through and how the Bind has now been repaired, I finally think they can defeat Hunter. But it's certainly going to be an epic finale, especially after the ending of this one, and I can't wait to read it, though I will be very sad at the same time. This has been a fabulous series that gets better with each book and I'm already getting withdrawal symptoms, but Ms. Ward has plans for more series set in this world so all is not lost. I suggest you start with this series before we revisit familiar faces and meet new ones in whatever comes next. You will not regret a single moment spent in the Twilight Realm.
