I was drawn to this book because the hero is a world famous violinist. How sexy is that?
Aria Alard deals in antiques and at present she is searching for two things....her brother Gio and a special Stradivarius violin handcrafted by her family of the same name. Kace August is known as the “rocker violinist” performing classical and more dressed in tees, jeans and boots exuding sexuality and charm. He is immediately drawn to Aria and she to him.
I enjoyed the back and forth play between Aria and Kace. Although Aria is hiding secrets Kace is the most mysterious and we wonder what causes him to go hot and cold. The passion between the couple is intense. The entire story has a romantic suspense vibe to it.
This is a book one of the trilogy and I look forward to continuing the story.

Aria is a woman with a lot of secrets. While searching for her missing brother, she stumbles into a world she's done everything to avoid. But she can't resist the allure of it, especially because Kace is very much a part of that world and he is a man who makes it impossible to turn away. Dark and delicious, he commands a room and commands her attention without a word. A violin rockstar, he's rich and famous... and he's still just a man. A man who wants what and who he wants and he most definitely wants Aria.
But again, Aria has secrets and while she knows she needs to reveal them to Kace before things go any deeper, she doesn't. And while he bares his soul, she gives him bits and pieces. Suddenly they're involved in a passionate affair and he wants her to be a part of every facet of his life. It's obvious that he trusts her. Now she needs to learn to trust him in return.
When some truths hit too close to home, what will Aria do? Well, based on the intriguing cliffhanger, I don't really have an idea. Aria acted just as I thought she would and I can only hope that she steps up more as a heroine. I'm a bit disappointed in her and I'm desperate for that to change. Considering the fact that the story is being told from her perspective, I expected some growth from her and maybe that will be something that will be seen in the books to come. Honestly, I'd appreciate Kace's voice. He's such a strong character and deserves to have his side heard.
This book was very reminscent of LRJ's Inside Out series, especially with visits from past characters, and I'm still a bit confused by why Aria's heritage is so desperate and dangerous. How can playing a violin or enjoying music automatically link you to your history? There are so many people in the world who have that kind of appreciation. Maybe that is also something that will be further discussed as this story grows. I'm looking forward to continuing this trilogy and getting more Kace!

Do you know I never read books with cliffhangers on purpose. However, I continually seem to do that with this author. She’s like an addiction and so is this book.

I really dislike cliffhangers and I’m not even fond of books in a series too much unless they can be read as standalone’s.
However, Jones is one of those authors that always gets me to break the rules. LOL It’s because I am addicted to her superior storytelling ability. She just has her layout set up in such a manner that you end up just binge reading.
This new book is another one of those I just could not put down. I absolutely love the storyline. Jones has a fabulous ability to tell a story so unique that you find yourself just engrossed.
What’s cool about these her books is that if you are a fan of her other series, then you’ll recognize other characters that pop in to support the story.
This addicting read is loaded with energy and passion and a building love that you know is just going to be impressionable on your soul. The characters are solid and she added a touch of mystery and a fabulous plot that just sucks you in.
But then you have to deal with the cliffhanger. And it’s a great one. But unfortunately we get to wait until the next book in the series comes up.
Is it worth the wait? Hell yes. Anything from this woman’s word processor is worth the weight in my opinion. Big fat five stars and much love for this awesome story.

I didn't quite know what to expect from the short blurb for A Reckless Note, but I'm certainly intrigued to find out just what in the heck is going on with Kace and Aria!

Aria Alard & her brother Gio had to disappear from Italy years ago because of their real names Stradivarius. Their ancestor created the formula for making the Stradivarus violins that were hand crafted by their family and had to flee the country. Now their mother has been murder on a mugging all they have is each other. The last words their mother gave to them was to never pursue music and to make sure their identity stayed intact. Now antique collectors in New York City, Aria followed her mother advice to the tee but her Brother Gio is determined to restore their family name and go on a hunt for the formula and the missing Stradivarus violins. Now missing for weeks Aria don't know if Gio is with a woman name Sarah or if he missing for good because of their family name.

This just grabs you right from the beginning. I love that it felt like jumping in with both feet and not being sure where you'll land.
It immediately starts off with Aria's missing brother and the mysterious background of her family. You don't learn a lot in this first book and it does end on a pretty big cliffhanger but it really had me guessing throughout.
I love that Kace is not your average rock star. He's a rock star who's also a violinist. That's unique and made him more interesting. He also has some mysteriousness about him, but the one thing you won't question about him is his attraction to Aria. In fact, his attention to her is pretty addicting.
I can't wait to see where these two will go from here. That ending could mean several things. I also can not wait to find out about what's going on with her family. Great first book!

This book gripped me from the very beginning and didn't let me go. Aria and Kace brought the heat and I loved them together. Overall rating: 4.5 stars!❤️

I could not wait until The Brilliance Trilogy began. I was not disappointed one little bit even with the cliff-hanger. Figured I put that right out front … the queen of the cliff-hanger’s has struck again and leaves us hanging just as the meat of the story starts. I don’t blame her one bit … I blame Kace and Aria for being such an interesting and mysterious couple and the temptation her muses gave her to just keep us hanging.

Throw in a little Walker Security and this is a can’t miss story. It’s a story that entwines so many beloved characters and adds in more interesting ones that has you wondering just where everything will go and how we’ll get there.
Of course, more questions than answers in book one of the Brilliance Trilogy. Where is Gio? Who is Kace, really? What connections do Kace, Alexander and Ed all have with her family? Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it took a turn and left me thoroughly confused and frustrated. But, that’s not something new with Lisa Renee Jones. She knows how to build a story; you think you are hitting the crescendo and then the cadence changes to an adagio only to change to full stop. And, this is why you read a Lisa Renee Jones book … you crave the build-up, the humor and then wait for the full stop that leaves you hanging. Am I waiting for A Wicked Song … most definitely? But I also know that it won’t answer all the questions. Just add more. I will have to wait until A Sinful Encore to get them answered and then I will cry that characters that I fell in love with will be gone until she graces us with their presence in another series.
If you are a true fan of romantic suspense, don’t mind a cliff-hanger and want to read a truly amazing story, please pick up A Reckless Note. I know that you will feel all the emotions that I have throughout this story.

You know that friend that only talks about one thing, and everything they see can be related back to said thing that’s causing them worry? Like the friend that was dumped 9 months ago and still can’t look at turkey sandwiches, or axe body spray, or Chevrons, or Cheetos hot fries, and/or a million other things without talking about the fact that they were dumped by the love of their life chad?
That is our heroine. Not about an ex named chad but just substitute him for her heritage and it’s basically the same thing. It was every other thing she thought about and it was HELLA annoying. It felt like the author was beating me on the head with a mallet yelling “THIS IS IMPORTANT TO THE STORY”.
Also, calling Kace a rockstar was a stretch. I laughed every time Aria called him that because performing covers of pop songs, namely bittersweet Symphony which already heavily featured string instruments in the original... isn’t all that rock and roll. Plus he was kind of boring. So there’s that.
Overall the characters weren’t developed all that deeply nor was the relationship between aria and kace all that compelling. Their conversations were extremely boring and no offense to savannah peach wood but she really affected how much I liked this. This novel is the epitome of music, romance, courtship, and steaminess and of course female and male friendships. Goddamn I loved every second of it. And surprisingly it's a mostly clean romance, by that, I mean not a lot of swearing. But still some adult content, so yeah.
I loved being in Aria's head and able to relate with her insecurities, her worries, her concerns, her happiness, and her being in a relationship with Kace, and trying to find her brother, while keeping her heritage a secret. I just wish I had gotten a chance to be in Kace's head too, that's what kind of slightly decreased my enthusiasm.
But it was so much fun to be a part of this first book in the trilogy, aside from some drama, it was such a wonderful book. Everything was perfect, and lovely, and wonderful.
God I couldn't get enough of this novel. And I sure as heck hope I will get a chance to read the second novel in the series.

Ahhhh!!! I should've paid more attention when picking this read, because cliffhangers drive me bananas—especially when the rest of the books in the series aren't going to be released until who knows how long from now because this book just came out! 😭
However, if I overlook the cliffhanger (which I absolutely will) and just focus on the story itself, this was a great and really fast read. A definite page-turner because the suspense aspect had me dying to know what was going on and what might come next. (Another reason the cliffy is gonna drive me to the edge lol)
I adored Kace. He's this kickbutt violinist who doesn't fit your idea of a famous musician of the typically classical variety. He wears T-shirts and jeans and boots and just the thought of a sexy alpha male dressed in casual, smexy attire while rocking out on a violin... yes please. But he's also so... mysterious. Like, hot and cold and we don't know why. Which makes you wanna know why even more, of course.
Aria, the female lead, is definitely a strong heroine. She takes the forefront in this story, at least for this book. And I really loved her voice. It was strong and clear and you could relate so hard, even when she was going through things not seemingly relatable.
Overall, this was a great read. I need to put an alert on Lisa Renee Jones somewhere so I make sure to find out when the next in the series comes out, otherwise the cliffhanger might be the end of me.

This one was short and sweet! Honestly, this book was quite amazing and it surprised me in a good way.
This book had it all; the drama, strained family relationship and a lot of passion! I loved reading about Kace and Aria, especially their witty comebacks and all their deep conversations.

My feelings for this book are mixed. On the one hand I find the idea for the story really original but the plot, as it’s written, wasn’t that interesting for me. I mean, I definitely liked it, but I don’t think is something “Wow”. Yet, I couldn’t put this book down. I don’t know why but I was absolutely hooked.
The chemistry between the main characters was out of this world and their encounters were really hot… Kace (H) is possessive of Aria (h) but I can’t say that it bothered me as it usually does. However, what it did bother me was the fact that the heroine doesn’t seem able to make her own mind and she’s constantly influenced by the hero.
I’m pretty sure that this review doesn’t make much sense (sorry for that) but the main thing is that I was hooked and I don’t even know why and I've already started the next one. 😬

I just finished reading a book that left me on the edge of my seat, and now I'm dying to know how the story ends! The main plot isn't exactly groundbreaking. It's about a girl with a troubled past who falls in love with a charming billionaire, but she's not sure if she can trust him. Meanwhile, the billionaire is torn between his growing feelings for her and a big secret he's been keeping from her. Will she still want to be with him once she knows the truth?
What sets this book apart is that it revolves around the relationship between a talented violinist and a bidder, which is a unique premise that I haven't come across before. Overall, I enjoyed reading it.

Her paranoia is on the level of absurd. It quickly became annoying. She thinks that if she even talks about violin, or Italy, or music in general everybody will know that she is a Stradivari. And that's coming from a woman who DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE HER FIRST NAME. WHY?????? It's not a common name. If anyone would've found out your secret it's not because you like listening to music or know how a violin looks like - it's because YOU HAVE THE SAME NAME, you idiot. She also has a brother who also didn't change his first name. Who she talks about. Because, you know, it's not as serious of a topic as ... i don't know... MUSIC. Talking about him and his mysterious gf with every person she meets will not give her away as opposed to knowing italian. Because only a Stradivari and a few others know that language.
Safety: it's safe. Little OW drama. Woman he works with had a crush on him and made a scene one time which she was fired for. He didn't care about her. So this OW was in the book to just add a little drama. h was celibate for a long time. Don't know about him - maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. He starts pursuing her the moment he meets her.
Overall it was okay. I didn't like how she wan't able to say no to him almost all the time. A little too much hero worshiping. Also, everything she did to find her brother was kind of useless. But I will read the other books in the series to find out what's this violin mystery was about.

In it, you will meet Aria and Kace. Both have secrets and a past. Yet, they can't help but feel a pull towards one another.
So, guys, the romance was on fire. I adored it all and you could see that they were really starting to fall for one another. Or maybe that's just how Lisa want's us to think. Of course, they had drama coming their way. A potential to tear them apart because of someone else getting into the picture.. and then there's all those pesky little secrets.
The ending didn't shock me because I knew something was going to come. It was just bound to happen since this is the first book in a trilogy. I'm hoping the next book will be on audible or KU, if not.. I will find a way to dive into it. I just need to know what is going to happen next.

What an amazing beginning to this new trilogy!!! I loved everything about this book!
Aria is a heroine who I connected with immediately although I couldn’t tell you why. Her character was just written in such a manner that she felt real. I empathized with her struggles and was drawn into her family’s past while curious to know more.
We never get Kace’s point of view, and while I missed it a time or two, it was simply because I’m used to having the hero’s POV. The lack of it did not hinder the story at all and I believe that was one reason why I felt such a strong connection to Aria. Because I never really got to know Kace, I loved the way he utilized the moments he saw Aria to make his move. He’s definitely inching his way into the LJR hero that I adore.
Aria’s and Kace’s relationship builds a step at a time which was refreshing instead of the insta-everything, which I don’t mind but have read quite a bit of lately. While this doesn’t necessarily have a lot of drama, I found this to have a nice solid foundation for what may occur further on in the trilogy. I found this book to have a nice pace to it, never repetitive. We also see plenty of characters from different series which was the icing on the cake. (No need to read previous books in order to follow this one.)
At a time when I’m struggling to concentrate for long on a book, this one pulled me in immediately and had me hooked. The characters quickly captured my attention and the “mystery” at the core of this story insured I would definitely be moving forward.

The Brilliance Trilogy was such a fantastic group of books that won my heart so completely and I fell in love with each installment, There is something so superb about this trilogy and especially in the writing style of this author. I loved the connection to the Savage series and seeing some of my favorite characters. I was intrigued by the set up of this series especially with the violinist and musical type of theme to it and the danger elements that is immersed within each book. We also get some delicious alpha action both in and out of the bedroom. There is a addictive sense in the author’s writing style that will draw you so quickly into the story and you will be cheering this couple on. The moment I picked up the first book I knew I was sticking with the whole trilogy because I became so hooked into it and when you are so invested in a story you desire to see it through and thus was the case with the Brilliance trilogy. The gist of the story is our heroine, is on the run, she is the daughter of a famous violinist who held the secret to the ost powerful set of violins in the world and their recipe in crafting them. But then she comes across the rock god of violinists who becomes her protector and fighter. I was so intrigued by the gradual build up of the plot that develops and seeing when the secrets would come out, and who the enemies were and what happened to Aria’s family. If you love a wicked contemporary romance set up with some unique style of characters and addictive writing, you won’t go wrong with picking up this trilogy. As a plus, the first book is free on Kindle. Overall I found the Brilliance Trilogy to be a thrilling adventure of musical love that strikes a chord to the heart and more!

I'm going to apologize in advance for the vagueness of this review. Mostly because I absolutely refuse to give any spoilers and so much happens, so many little secrets are revealed along the way that I don't want to take a chance on giving anything away. *sigh*
This book is told from Aria's POV and as much as I love stories that are told from alternating POVs, there's a reason for not getting inside Kace's head. Aria doesn't reveal her secrets, even to the reader, right away. She's kept them close for as long as she can remember. She was taught at a young age how to keep herself safe from those who might want to harm her and her family. Kace makes her want things that she never dared to even wish for. He makes her want to let her guard down, but he seems to be hiding some secrets as well...
It's fitting that this book and series are centered around music because the writing has the same kind of flow. It wasn't flowery, but it as close. I found myself getting lost in the story. It was hard to put down and before I knew it, it was over... for now. It's a good thing that there isn't a long time span between A Reckless Note and A Wicked Song because the signature cliff hanger was brutal.
Just a FYI - there are a lot of references and characters from previous series, but I didn't find it confusing or distracting. If anything, those references made me want to go back and discover what I've missed from this author. If anything, I think the fact that Aria didn't know any of the characters added to the mystery behind them.
