*4.5 stars *

Grace Carter, undisputed queen of the Liverpool underworld is back with the fourth in the ‘Bad Blood’ series, but she’ll really have to keep her wits about her this time around, as one time ally DI Leigh Moss is determined to bring down Grace’s considerable empire, and her chance finally comes when she arrests Grace’s son Jake, and stepson Connor on a murder charge.

DI Moss isn’t the only one who wants to take Grace down, one of Essex’s most feared gangsters has his eye on her empire, and he hates the fact that some ‘jumped up’ woman can rule Liverpool, but if it’s up to him, it won’t be for long. Grace though, has lots of employees, including those who don’t go through the books - police officers, judges, lawyers, amongst others, they may not appear on her payroll but they’re very much in her pocket, so taking her down will be no easy task.

Author Caz Finlay writes with a gritty realism that hooks her readers in, leaving them desperate for the next in the series, and she hasn’t failed in that task yet. Another winner!

Bad Blood #4

Connor and Jake have been arrested and Grace is doing everything in her power to get them released. Meanwhile, after being double crossed by their brother, Bradley, the Johnston brothers are now trying to evade Essex underworld boss, Alistair MacGrath. DI Leigh Moss wants Connor and Jake charged with the murder of Billy Johnston. But Leigh and Grace have history. Leigh owes Grace big time. Will Grace be be able to call in a debt.

Grace Carter and her family are back with a bang. The story starts where the previous book left off. You can't help but love the Carter family and you find yourself rooting for them all the way. This is a fast paced and twist filled read thrilling read. We are introduced to some new characters in this book. Caz has quickly become one of my favourite authors. This is a fantastic book and a fabulous series. I highly recommend it.

I would like to thank #NetGalley, #HarperCollinsUK #OneMoreChapter and the author #CazFinlay for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Liverpool Loyalty is the fourth instalment in the Bad Blood series, set in and around the city of Liverpool, Merseyside. Gangland queen of the ’pool Grace Carter is parked in her Range Rover over the street from St Anne’s Police Station where her son Jake Conlon and stepson Connor Carter are currently being interviewed. She had been awaiting the arrival of her ferocious on-call solicitor, Faye Donovan, managing partner in Donovan, Haigh and Macaulay in Liverpool city centre, who had travelled back from Monaco arriving via John Lennon Airport after cutting her holiday short to represent the pair. From the limited information Grace had been able to glean from DI Tony Webster, who was on her payroll and had been the one to alert her to Jake and Connor’s situation, the boys had been arrested for the murder of Billy Johnson, which had happened just over three months earlier. The boys are soon released and Faye informs Grace that the police have little to go on; it's all circumstantial and the case apparently hinges on a lone eyewitness. Grace will do anything to keep her boys from doing hard time so she enlists the help of an old associate and former ally, DI Leigh Moss, whose life Grace once saved before she became a police officer. But the favour Leigh owes is unimportant to her and the only real favour she wants to do is to bring about the downfall of Grace’s sprawling criminal empire for the good of the people of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the Johnson brothers are reeling from their brother Bradley’s backstab after he took off with over £200,000 belonging to one of the most notorious gangsters in England - Alastair McGrath. They're now figuring out how they can ”raise the money” before he notices. McGrath is also trying to muscle in on Grace’s territory but he doesn't realise what he's up against. She has many secret connections from judges to cops, lawyers to politicians and she decides it's time for the universally feared McGrath to learn that just because she's a woman doesn't mean she won't resort to violent or underhand tactics. This is a compulsive and captivating gangland thriller. Gritty, intense and impossible to put down, it is certainly not for the faint-hearted or those distressed by graphic violence. The sense of time and place are both fantastic, references to current events help with that, just as they did in previous instalments. The characters are larger than life, demand your attention and truly come alive on the page, and although this is a criminal world most of us will have never experienced ourselves, I felt both the characters’ actions and the nail-biting plot remained believable and authentic throughout. It has an excellent array of ingredients that add up to a very tasty urban thriller - emotion, humorous moments, an exciting, often nerve-shredding plot, mesmerising characters, and a satisfying climax. Superb. Highly recommended.

Jake Conlon her son and stepson Conner Carter have been arrested for murder.
With a witness on the scene, Grace needs to make sure that this witness is found and quickly as time is running out for her boys.

But the thing is, Grace knows the real Leigh Moss and although she doesn’t want to use that information she may need to.

With the Johnson brothers back and teaming up with the notorious Essex face Alastair McGrath who is trying to take a slice of the Carter’s business. Grace will need to show why no one should take her for granted. And why loyalty and family is everything to her.

That includes Lena

My thoughts

Another brilliant instalment from Caz Finlay. It continues straight from Head Of The Firm
The plot is a thrilling page turner and I loved how she has set the story up to take us to a new chapter ready for her next book.
I hope she keeps this series going, there’s so much still to explore. I want Paul to find happiness again.
This series has definitely been my favourite of 2020

Another 5 star read under Caz Finlay's belt! More twists, turns & plots in the lives of Grace & Michael Carter, the undisputed bosses of the underworld of Liverpool. Absolutely gripping, as always, with a little teaser for the next book?! Can't wait! Quoting a line from the book... "Here's to Liverpool loyalty" ...

I’ve been waiting to read Liverpool Loyalty since the minute I knew it was being written, and I have to say it was so worth the wait!.

When Grace Carter’s boys are arrested for murder, she pulls out all the stops to get them out of prison, however, getting the charges dropped will take some doing!

In a short time, Caz Finlay has proved she has what it takes to be up there with the likes of Kimberley Chambers.

I hope we don’t have long to wait before book 5 arrives because this is quickly becoming my favourite gang land crime series!!

Grace and Michael are the King and Queen of Liverpool and this installment follows straight on from the previous book in the series.
There are lots of characters and it definitely helped that I had read the previous book. However, seeing as I had read read so many books in between, it was difficult at first to remind myself who was who. I would definitely recommend following one book with the next straight after! Maybe a cast list would help me?
The Liverpool Mafia astound me, how they go about getting themselves out of major trouble- and a murder accusation!
Grace is a fabulous character and I find myself rooting for her even when I probably shouldn't!

Welcome back Grace Carter it's been a wee while since we last spoke lol. #LiverpoolLoyalty is the 4th book in the Bad Blood series involving Grace and Michael Carter written by Caz Findlay I really couldn't wait for this one as I was anxious to see if Grace could keep what she's worked so bloody hard for, We begin with a bang right where we left off in #HeadOfTheFirm.

Starting with both of their boys Connor Carter and Jake Conlon having just been released from prison after being on remand for the murder of Billy Johnson thanks to the firms pet lawyer Faye Donovan doing what she does best and what she gets paid for. The lawyer isn't the only person that was on the payroll. there's a couple of police officers as well as a judge, it pays to have the 'filth' in your pocket for times such as these.

We must remember that it's a mans world Grace runs in and she's had be smarter than your average gangster to get where she has. Grace is the captain of her own ship making her own decisions. Men from other patches have foolishly assumed because she's a mere female playing at the gangster life folk have thought that she's an easy mark but oh my don't they learned the hard way!

If you enjoy books written by authors such as Kimberley Chambers, Mandasue Heller and Marnie Riches you should definitely give Caz Findlay a whirl but I think it would be better to begin at the beginning, it will help with all the background on the characters within the pages..

Read for an honest review. Thank you Ms Findlay, #Netgalley and #HarperCollinsUK and #OneMoreChapter

This is the fourth brilliant episode of this series and what a corker it is.

We're back with the Carter family, Grace and Michael as the heads of the gangland firm, and Grace's son Jake and her stepson Connor learning the trade.

This gangland novel is set in Merseyside, Liverpool.

The boys have been arrested on a murder charge and Grace and the family solicitor Faye Donovan are trying to get them out. Faye is known as a rottweiler in the legal world and is tough as nails and clever. The officer in charge is an old adversary of Grace's DI Leigh Moss whom many years ago Grace saved her life but this time around DI Moss is adamant she wants to see Jake and Connor behind bars.

The Johnston brothers are a wannabe firm that wants to take over and are causing the Carter family problems, they have been stitched up by their elder brother who has gone on the missing list, with money owed by the brothers to an Essex underworld boss, Alistair Macgrath. This is where the story starts to knit together.
What a belter of a book, Caz just gets better and better with her stories.
I wanted to read it all in one go as it gripped me to the end. Very much worth 5 stars and lots more.

I love gangland crimes and this author absolutely knows how to keep the readers entertained. A book by her means reading, reading, reading and please leave me alone because it's such a gripping story.

It's great to see a woman at the helm of this ship. She is hard as nails for those who treat her firm and her family badly, but she is soft as a puppy where her family is concerned. She fights like a lioness for what she loves and against what she hates.

I really enjoy the scheming and the set ups. They are soo good I was thinking: is it for real or is it part of the plan? I was hoping it was not turning into the ultimate betrayal but indeed meant to set up a trap. It was just brilliant!

Sometimes you are so overwhelmed by grief, there is nothing that matters anymore. You do whatever you can to forget the pain you feel and it helps… for a while at least. But in trying to forget the pain you also forget about and neglect the good ones. Time to pull yourself together! Hold on to the good memories and start making new happy ones.

More, please. 5 stars

Thank you

Wow

Caz Finlay does it again another book that I couldn't put down. Grace and Michael rule the roost in Liverpool. They made a few enemies along the way Grace's son lost his way for a while turning to drink and drugs after his partner Paul was murdered, but after a short spell in prison with his step brother Connor he was released a totally different man

Caz has done it again. This is another great read in the bad blood series. Grace Carter has trouble when her beloved son and stepson get arrested for murder. Can Grace keep her family from falling apart. You will be gripped from page one to the end of this book. Testing loyalty and knowing who to trust is a big part of Grace’s life. Will she be able to save Jake and Conner from a life behind bars. I highly recommend this book and give it a well deserved five stars.

I was delighted to be offered the chance to get an advanced review copy of this book for the Kindle. Although there were a few books on my reading list before this I could not wait any longer to read it and what an amazing journey it was.

Great storytelling, character development and layout makes this book so enjoyable to read. Not only is it a page turner but it is also a 'just one more chapter' kind of book which I am sure many other readers will relate to.

This book is listed as the genre of general fiction (adult) but it is much more than that - it is gritty, gangland UK crime at its best. Everything that you would wish for in a book of this kind is there from the gangland fights to the violence but also to the relationships and community. Caz Finlay is great at showing the two sides of her characters, such as Grace's loving, caring wife and mother personality to her ruthless, business-minding, gangland leadership.

I have previously read Back In The Game (Book 3 of the Bad Blood series) and the storyline flows very well from one book to the other but you do not need to have read any of the previous books in the series and can easily read this as a standalone. My only constructive criticism is that I felt that there were too many characters introduced at the start of the book which may be difficult for new readers of the series to get her head around. Also, don't be fooled by the book cover as this book is much more than a pretty face.

I found out on social media yesterday that Caz has just finished writing book 5 of the series so we all will have something to look forward to in 2021.

In my opinion, Caz is the Northern England version of Martina Cole.

]f you enjoy gritty UK crime this is a perfect stocking filler for Christmas as the book is published officially on the 18th December 2020.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Caz Finlay and One More Chapter (Harper Collins) for providing me with an advanced review copy of this book for the Kindle in exchange for a review of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

I have really enjoyed this series of books, and I think Caz Finlay has wrote another cracker of a book here. I have grown to love the main characters and it was good to be reading about them again and how they were coping after a tragic event in the previous book. This was one hell of a fast paced, thrilling read, full of twists which had me on the edge of my seat. The author has tied up loose ends, introduced new characters and I hope there is a another book to follow. These books are one of my favourite series which I will reread again. Loved, loved this book.

I usually prefer stand alone novels to a series but I certainly make an exception when it the Bad Blood series by Caz Finlay.
Having read the first three books in the series I was eagerly awaiting book four. I certainly wasn't disappointed. It follows on seamlessly from the last book and I was gripped from page one. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I can thoroughly recommend this book and many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another first class read.
OMG this was good. Bloody good.

Well here we are, book 4 in the Bad Blood Series. Another stonker of a read. Loved each and everyone of these book in this series. Caz Finlay has developed a knack of making me hold my breath, bite my nails and fall off the edge of my seat while reading. Caz Finlay is smashing this author lark and moving on up to be with some of the best authors in this genre. Caz 'Please keep going, absolutely loving this series.
A family like no other, A gangland family run by the Mother. Grace Carter is a force to be reckoned with and here in book 4 she is as bold and fierce as ever. Loyalty to Grace is everything, if you can't trust those closest to you who can you trust.
This book has it all for a gripping read and believe me when I say, once started you will just need to finish it. The writing and characterisation is perfectly put together. characters you have gotten to know a little over the previous books continue to shine and grow.
Grace and Michael Carter are determined to get their boys out of prison and as parents they will use what ever means necessary to get their boys home.
Another book on my best Gritty Gangland book reads. Caz Finlay is an author who will be at the top of a lot of readers must read list.

Oh my Caz has bloody done it again!! AMAZING!

I absolutely love this bad blood series, our Queen Grace is back and this time fighting for Jake and Connor after they have been arrested and on remand for murder.

Grace will do anything not to see them go down. Can she pull this one off? With the help of DI Leigh Moss or is Moss going to bring down the Carters once and for all.

Again another fantastic gripping read, I know exactly what I am getting from Caz I look forward to these and just dive right in.

Roll on book 5.

Caz writes characters you will just adore and the evolution of them over the four books is fantastic. You can imagine them as screen characters and the next instalment will be fab without a doubt!
