Marry a McDade. That’s the order Cyrus Doherty gives his only daughter.
The bloodbath that claimed the lives of Whisper’s brothers put the Doherty share of the city’s business in jeopardy. Her father’s way to remedy that is to form an alliance with their enemy.
To prove to the McDades that the Dohertys intentions are true, Whisper’s father sets her up to marry the arrogant, bullish, inconsiderate man they call Razer.
The problem is, Whisper Doherty isn’t exactly known for playing nice. Finding her place in the McDade ranks won’t be easy. Especially when she can’t seem to stop sassing everyone. Other McDade women might be happy following the rules, but Whisper is no pushover.
Her husband’s issues collide with her own and combust into something neither of them expect. It’s a power struggle. A war within a war and she will not surrender.
But the bride has to deal with more than just her domineering husband. Her new father-in-law, the McDade patriarch, believes everyone is beneath him. Burl McDade expects everyone to bow to his will and that’s just not Whisper’s style.
Making an enemy of him pits her against the McDade-Doherty alliance. Burl demands her submission; Whisper will not yield. She’s on her own… or is she?

Writing has always been a big part of my life. Since I was a child I've known exactly where my passion lay. No matter what's gone on in my life writing has been my touchstone. After all, we all need a place to escape to. Reading is my idea of heaven. There's nothing I like more than to switch everything off, close the bedroom door, and curl up with a good book. I have a feeling that's something all at Goodreads can identify with.
Thanks for taking the time with me today. Now do something for yourself, go and curl up in your own reading heaven.
At first I wasn't sure if I liked Whisper, the main character. But after a couple of chapters I fell in love with the feisty, strong minded woman. This book is so complex and complicated with all of it's twists and turn's. That it will keep you reading until the early hours, you won't want to put it down because it's just so exciting. We meet the rest of the McDade family in this book, and it's really interesting to see the different personalities that make up the family. In this book Whisper Doherty is married off to Zaiden McDade, and if you remember from book one McDade's and Doherty's are enemies, so you can imagine how the marriage starts out, or can you??? 😜 Let's just say there are surprise's in store for everyone involved. I'd definetly recommend this book 💖💖💖💖
I loved how the FC was written. Being such a force of character. I was laughing at her antic the whole way.
However my favourite parts of the mafia romance dell short. The sense of unity in the family where not there. I know it's a plot line so it's just a warning for others readers who look for the same thing.
I also felt there was a disconnect btw the MV saying he has been in love with here for years and how the where writen together.
There also felt like there where alot of plot holes.
Overall a 2.5 rounded to 3 for me. So much potential with the FC but I wish the rest of the book could match the energy

Forced to marry into your fiercest rival family, whisper is determined to wreak chaos and destruction for as long as she is allowed to live. Never cowered or compliant she dutifully carry's out her marital duties as if they are a small inconvenience to her normal chaotic life. Fast paced story which draws you in and keeps you glued to the book, tension filled and at times quite shocking a story you will love and hate at the same time. Fantastic easiest five star rating I've read.
This book was totally amazing !!!!! I couldn't put it down. Where do I begin? Say is my hero as well Whisper is. What a dynamic couple. Going from hate to live was so exciting to read. My heart hurt for Whisper having the most definitely disgusting Father that would do all the horrible things to her. But Say came in and rescued her. Great job Scarlett Finn
I was equally invested in the mafia family plot as I was with the whole Zay and Whisper relationship. Whisper was such a unique character. She was bratty, spunky, strong and underneath it all she has this vulnerability that you wanted her to let her guard down. I would def read more books in this series.
I wasn't sure about this book, but I soon became quickly invested page after page.
Two feuding mob families arrange a marriage alliance, initiated by two sadistic fathers... little did anyone know that one of the intended had held a secret crush for three years.
Witty sharp banter, along with surprises and twists keep this book interesting.
I really loved reading this book. You don't have to come from a mafia family to realize how screwed up everything can be. Whisper being raised by an abusive father and having a hard time accepting someone who loved her and wouldn't hurt her.
I liked this story. I was surprised near the end with some of the new characters and how much they knew. Zay is a dangerous guy, so surprising how he is okay with his arranged marriage and new wife.
More intense than I was expecting but I don't know why considering the title the way her helps her realise she can trust and he learns to trust her more even if he still tries to keep her out of it. Definitely recommend reading.
Very well written. A lot of times, Mafia romances are cheesy and not much substance. Scarlett Finn did an amazing job with this one. The love story didn't seem forced. It had great action and a good plot twist.
If you are a romantic suspense fan who loves blazing hot chemistry, feuding Mafia families, along with danger and intrigue… then you’ll love Only Yours (McDade Brothers #2). And Razer McDade doesn’t know what’s him when he marries the enemy’s daughter, Whisper Doherty. She’s trouble with a capital T and I loved her! I’m so looking forward to the next book in this fantastic series.
A mixed bag. Both plot and characters often felt uneven and halfway through the book seemed to almost shift into a completely different story. It might have worked better as a duology? In many ways I enjoyed the second half a bit more than the first, but it didn't flow well as a single book. For characters, I preferred Zaiden to Whisper, who was a bit MMPDG (mafia manic pixie dream girl) - sassy even when it's obviously incredibly dumb, dumb in general when the plot calls for it, 'stubborn' or 'strong' without any evidence beyond being stupidly sassy, etc. In general, it was fine. I probably won't remember much about it in a couple of weeks but it satisfied me well enough while I was reading it.
Finally, Whisper? Whisper isn't a name. In fact, 90% of these names are ridiculous.
The book was entertaining enough. But Jesus Christ what are these names? I spent far too much brainpower trying to rename “Whisper” to something less awful each time.
wtffff. This book was volatile and wild. I think the plot got lost a little and it was revealed too late that he actually liked her. I think I liked Zay more than I liked Whisper. I actually super disliked Whisper bc she couldn't make any good decisions.
