Don’t ever, ever, ever go near that boy. Not unless you want to be a single mother at seventeen. That boy is Bad with a capital B.
The words that my father spoke to me when it came to Trouper Aoki didn’t scare me like they probably should.
In fact, they only made me intrigued all the more.
When it came to Troup, there was just no resisting fate when it came to the two of us.
Even at eighteen, when we went our separate ways with the promise to come back to each other once we were done pursuing our careers, I knew he would always be it for me.
And color me surprised when eight years after making that pact with Trouper, we were once again reunited. Only this time in an undercover FBI investigation—me, the FBI officer, and Troup call sign ‘State’ as a military liaison.
Trouble always finds him. You’d do better to run far, far away.
Truer words had never been spoken.
From the time Troup was a young boy, he’d been in some kind of trouble.
So it only goes to show when he winds up in the FBI investigation with none other than Beckham Spurlock, his high school sweetheart, things are bound to go wrong.
Only, he has no idea how wrong until things go bad. Really, really bad.
All it takes is saving her by hurting another for him to see the wrong side of a jail cell.
To make matters worse, he has to live the next fifteen years in prison knowing that his son will grow up without him. And the woman he loves will likely move on to a man that isn’t so much trouble.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Trouper Aoki and Beckham Spurlock are endgame! They know it, I know it, and pretty soon, you'll all know it. Why? Because no matter the distance, the obstacles, the interfering, or the years, they belonged together. It was so obvious to anyone who reads about them and the author did an incredible job of showcasing their bond.
Troup was literally the bad boy next door. The one Beckham's father (Foster) wanted her to have nothing to do with. The one who didn't quite fit in but fit so well with her. From high school and beyond, what they had is what everyone should aspire to have. Shoot, not even prison could keep these two apart. They needed each other like one needs air, food and water. What they had was so freaking beautiful and their love, their story, deserves all of the stars!!
One of my favorite LLV books to date. Troup and Beckham were meant to be and no matter what life threw at them it would be so. I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two. Normally it feels OTT with LLV stories but this just felt absolutely right. I loved the plot because it gave us both external and internal conflict. Troup was everything I love in a hero and more because he was flawed yet perfect for Beckham. Beckham was a unique heroine and her strength and perseverance really hooked me.
All in all another great addition to the series and to my favorites shelf. I’m totally buying the audio too!
Complementary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
Beckham and Troup's book.... These two were meant to be the minute they set eyes upon each other as teenagers in a park playground. It took them 8 years to finally be together, each going a different career path,he the Air Force and she the FBI,but their love and commitment to each other held steady. I loved these two and they have got to be one of the best couples that LLV has written to date.
Trouper and Beckham’s love story was one for the ages. They met when they were 17 but life pulled them in different directions. He joined the Air Force and she went down a path for the FBI. It has been eight years since they last spoke or saw each other but when Trouper comes into the room where they set up base camp for an FBI sting it’s like no time has passed between him and Beckham. What happens next could tear them apart for good. Events lead to Beckham in the hospital and Trouper in jail. She still stands by his side because she knows he did not get a fair trial and will wait on him until he gets out. But he gets out sooner than they both expected and now has to do something for the man that got him out. Well he agree to the terms of his early release? Will Beckham join him in his venture?
The book feels unfinished. Like this is a draft or a half-written book. Too much vital information is missing...but that seems to be the norm these days with this author. I adore her earlier books where she didn't push to release a book every month or so. They were well-written, fleshed out stories that drew you in. Now, it seems like there's no fire or spirit in these books and I'm left feeling meh.
OMG, all the heart eyes! Two words. Relationship Goals! I can't even with how much I ADORED Conjugal Visits. The instant connection, the love that never wavered, and resisted time and distance... WOW, it's like Ms. Vale took every single one of my romance lover's hot spots and turned into Troup and Beckham's swoon worthy, addictive and HOT love story! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

"I’m always going to be yours.” I knew that she was my end game.
“I don’t want to take you from your dream, Troup,” she whispered. “You are my dream now,” I admitted.
“Everything about you is my dream, Beckham,”

I need a year or two to catch up on my TBR list. And I seriously need to read the earlier books by Lani. Because I just KNOW I’ve missed out on a heap of these characters back stories and their parents stories and then I get a sprinkle of the couples I have met and I just want to read them all in order already so I know who everyone is. Because I feel seriously left out.
When I read the first book I didn’t get lost in it like I normally do, and to be fair, I know that was more to do with everything going on in my life and my head. But I did completely love the set up of this series and reading Trouper and Beckham’s book cemented how awesome this series is going to be. And a few of these other members of Lynn’s club have me already swooning over them.
But back to this book. I loved the whole Part 1. There is nothing swoonier than a bad boy falling in love at first sight and going all out to be worthy of his girl. And Trouper was awesome. He really did have a heart of gold for those that he loved. Beckham was no slouch either. She loved hard. But then we got to Part 2 and I was kind of dirty with them both for a while.
However as much as small things annoyed me, like Beckham’s constant lying to her family. I was so invested in the story and dying to know what was going to happen next because so much was happening next that I couldn’t put it down. And we got everything I could have wanted in this book. And I am even more excited for the rest of the series even if my favourites are even more my favourites after this book, I will patiently wait for their stories to be written. Or not so patiently.
This book was so good, I can tell this series is going to be a total winner for me. I loved Beckham and Troup’s journey from teenagers to adults. The Spurlocks are my favorite LLV family so I’m glad we got to catch up with them as well. The only thing I wish is that the book was longer, not that the story felt incomplete, I just wanted to read more about these two LOL.
Trouper Aoki knew he was labeled as bad news and although he did what he could to protect his little brother, he had no one to rely on. That is until his quirky neighbor Beckham Spurlock came into the picture. Even though he had been warned to stay away, she wouldn't let him. They made a deal to keep in touch and when the time was right, after establishing their careers, to get back together. Years later Trouper and Beckham have the careers they want and get back together, this time though they regret it took so long. It should have been smooth sailing and the beginning of something wonderful until fate intervened and Trouper gets sent to prison. Someone must have watched out for him though and he finds himself getting another chance to not only be with Beckham but a chance to do what he loves.
This is quickly becoming my favorite series of Lani Lynn Vale's. I was surprised by this one and Beckham was so different than what I was expecting. Trouper was a refreshingly different character for this author, he is protective of Beckham and the chemistry is off the charts. Terrific story, anxious for what is next.
Lord they destroyed me. Their story is gutwrentch in so many ways but also so fucking beautiful. Their journey is told in three parts from high school all the way to adulthood. I just fell in love with their love. The kind that blossomed through time and friendship.. forged through the good the bad and the ugly.
It's the never giving up for me. It's that unconventional love for me. It's the fight they fought for me.
Trouper is the hero everyone wants. The one that routes for himself despite the many obstacles thrown his way. He's built from steel and made to stand the test of time and boy he does just that. His only confidant, his biggest supporter.. Beckham was that person who despite everyone telling her he's no good.. believed in him and in return... he showed her he was worth betting on. His hard persona literally melted at the sight of her. He wasn't ashamed to show her he cared. He loved her with everything and it showed. The man is sex and sin wrapped up in a delicious package of sweetness and stubborn man and I loved every damn bit of him for it.
Beckham is a force to be reckoned with. My respect for her is unmatched. She literally fought tooth and nail for Trouper and climbed over pretty much any obstacles that got in her way. She fierce and witty and sharp. She is the sweetest, loyalist heroine there ever was. She loved her man with a depth that I didn't think possible. She, despite everyone telling her no and everything getting in their way defied all the odds and came out on top every damn time. If awards are been given ... Beckham will win every damn time because I'm pretty sure nobody loved anyone as much as she loved Trouper.
Their journey built me up and then broke me and then it broke me again long before it put me back together. The lord said I'm about to put two soulmates together and give them the kind of all consuming love that has the power to cause wreckage but they're going to have to work for it... they ain't getting the easy road or the high way. They got the hitchhiking up Mount Everest in flip flops and a damn mankini kind of version. They had to work for that shit.
It really is all consuming and completely overwhelming. I was their biggest supporter and one woman fan base from day dot on my couch with my tea and snacks raving like a loony whilst reading .. no joke. I just wanted them to be happy. They are literally made for eachother they are that perfect together. The story took so many turns I did not see coming and was not in the slightest bit prepared for. I was held captive, a slave to their story. I cried my heart out. I ranted and raved at the sheer injustice of it all. I was so freaking pissed my kindle was nearly launched into the stratosphere a time or 80. It's so brutally raw and honest it's painful but lord was it worth it to see them together. That crazy burning chemistry and sweet undeniable connection is just a thing of magic I swear. I swooned and gasped and chuckled my way through all the good times, all the sweet times and the saucy shenanigans. The climactic build, the suspense, the heartbreak and hurt and the wishing for more. The sweet and the love, the humour and the sass... everything about these characters made this story something so fucking special.
Every Lani book makes me love her more. Her depthy characters with so much personality and so many layers. Her crazy unpredictable plots and the story progression... it's every I love. It's an emotional rollercoaster that I never want off of and she gives me something very few author's do... despite the heavy topics and darker aspects she somehow manages to balance her story so the dark doesn't overshadow the light. These characters, their journey... it's imperfectly perfect in the best ways.
Lani Lynn Vale might have just handed us her most loyal couple of all time in an emotionally riveting way! With book two in her new Souls Chapel Revenants MC series we get Trouper and Beckham's story in CONJUGAL VISITS and it does not disappoint! While the timeline spread is a little wonky of them finding each other again and getting to be together once and for all, their dedication and love for each other makes it all worth it. Loved them!
Trouper and Beckham are attention grabbing characters and the journey of getting to know them from their teenage selves to the grown version of each one after going on to earn the career of their dreams is fulfilling. The turmoil they find themselves going through in order to be together only makes them stronger and more determined to have their forever love. Though told in stages throughout the book, the character development winds up being fairly complete and satisfying.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who likes a connection of unlikely characters who are learning to be a team and coming together to right wrongs while reconnecting with the lives they left behind. I'm looking forward to so much more in the series!
If you never read a LLV book then you won't know that feeling you get when you start a new book. From the start I was captured by this story. It seemed that Beckham and Troup just had obsticle after obsticle in their way.
But I loved the fact that Beckham didn't ever give up on Troup or their relationship. From when they met their senior year in high school till they finally got their happily ever after.
Everything they went though just made you want to get through the book. Seemed like they got through being apart and then together and then something else happened. But I loved the twists and turn, ups and downs, romance, suspense and I loved their relentlessness to be together😊
I on purpose do not read the sneak preview cause I know it will just get my goed up for the next book then I have to wait a while to get to the next one. I'm excited for Trick and Swayze's book😍💖
Finally got to read about Beckham's story and her secret pregnancy.
It seemed to be impossible for H and h to be together. Too much difficulties for them to overcome. They were separated by their career for so eight years. When they finally got reunited, tragic happented… Furtunatelly, they were faithful to each other no matter how long they've separated. They deserved their happiness.
Now I got what happened before Chalk Dirty to Me (Madd CrossFit #3).
Oh she did it to me again. I got sucked in, felt a LOT OF THINGS, fell hard in love. I hurt, I swooned. Good god, this book was beautiful *I was given an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
This was another enjoyable read in this ongoing series! I really enjoyed these characters with Troupe and Beckman they were both sweethearts and so easy to fall in love with. True love Conquers All! I loved how this couple maintained the love and devotion they had between them for what seemed like forever, even when their dreams took them in two different directions.
Loved Beckman she was smooth and savvy and smart and sassy and loved that feisty attitude of hers.
Overall, this was a heartfelt story that had some ups and downs and more than a few surprises but, the most important element of the story was how true love stood the test of time against the good the bad and the ugly. I really loved this story it made me smile and at times I felt like crying, and it was definitely a story that touches one heart!
I liked most of this book but couldn’t get my head around some things:
All through the story there was a disconnect with Beckham and her parents. We know foster and Blake through earlier books but their relationship with their daughter was out of character and just plain cold. The revelations at the end make no sense at all. It’s like this story doesn’t deal with time in a realistic sense. Which is another thing. To believe in their relationship you have to accept that life just didn’t give these two people that were hopelessly in love an opportunity to connect for eight years? That’s a long time. All because of their careers? It’s still a good setup for the mc but it’s more a backstory to a larger one that I haven’t read yet🙃
-I couldn’t help but cringing reading part 1 of the book (teenagers smut is sloppy af I don’t know how they did it like pornstars) 😬 -Hero got himself into the prison was a bit OTT. -Too much sex, not enough romance. I like that H is sweet and devoted to h and vice versa.
Safety : both celibate for 8 years during separation. They’re faithful so there was no OW or OM. H is possessive and protective of h. Drama : Women trafficking. Unprotected sex (after they meet 8 years later) lead to h pregnant. HEA : HEA (married, have kids)
Stayed up late and read in one sitting! I just loved Beckham and Trooper! Such a great story that spans nearly a decade! Lots of action, danger, and romance. LOVED IT!
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Beckham and Troup. These two have known each other for as long as they can remember and have always had a thing for each other. Even though her father warned her away from him she didn't listen and even to this day Beckham is never ever going to give up on Troup. She loves him. Really really soul deep he is the one her soulmate loves him. These two go through a lot and just when you think things are going to settle here comes something else slapping them up against the head to go through something else. She is even an FBI agent and he might not be the most upstanding citizen in the world. Now she is undercover and things are about to get even crazier. This book is full of twist and turns with a side of angst thrown in there that only Lani Lynn Vale can give up. You don't want to miss this book. I am so loving the Souls Chapel Revenant MC Series so much.
I don't know what happened with book 1 of this series for me, but Lani Lynn Vale upped her game for this one.
Trouper Aoki and Beckham Spurlock met when they were 17 and stuck together through all of the things that came their way after.
This story didn't feel rushed, it didn't feel like we were missing anything, because it was the story of how these two met, feel in love, and weathered all of the obstacles they ended up having to face.
I believed that they loved one another. Were there some things that I found unfathomable? Yes Mainly them not making a way to see one another for so many years. As much as I felt the love between them, I find it hard to believe that they would let anything as insignificant as busy schedules get in the way of personal time together.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to see how the rest of the series will pan out.
If you didn't know, Beckham is the daughter of Foster & Blake Spurlock from Charlie Foxtrot

Ohhh a second chance romance and more with a Spurlock ?? SOLD !!
It is a book which takes place in three parts and which shows us a magnificent love story between Trouper the bad boy and Beckham the badass who goes from adolescence to their future despite the hardships ... And inevitably it was going to be a crush =D I loved seeing this couple fall in love (their first time in the clearing <3) but also face the difficulties (Foster who disappointed me a little in this book but also this horrible story with the kidnapping of Beck and I was so not expecting the identity of the culprit !!)
In short, a book as good as the previous one and which gives us a little more clues about the bad guys ...
PS: I really liked having the beginning of Cannel's story that we find in Chalk Dirty to Me =)
Lani Lynn Vale is a favorite of mine and I loooove all of her books but this one was different... a little more special in my opinion. I devoured this new book up and didn't come up for air until I read the very last word. Lani is some kind of special and she has a particular writing style, one that I am very fond of but this one? Yeah going down as a top five for me for sure.
Conjugal Visits was really, really good y'all. Complicated (to say the very least!), intense, suspenseful, steamy, swoony, unputdownable. That title honestly caught me off guard when I first saw it but what is between the covers was beautiful, in the most imperfect kind of ways and I never wanted their story to end.
Beckham and Troup were life. They gave me all the feels y'all, whew baby these two, right from the start. My heart broke so many times then soared so high for them in so many others. Their chemistry, their journey, their heartbreak, their triumph, their perseverance, their strength, their EVERYTHING... it was just unforgettable the whole journey.
LLV is a author that I recommend everyone give a chance. Her smooth stories and her beautifully flawed, relatable characters will get you hooked and keep you addicted.
Talk about a true love story that withstood distance & time!
I really enjoyed Trouper & Beckham’s story. It was full of sweetness, suspense & steam!
Trouper & Beckham did ANYTHING & EVERYTHING for one another. Each of them staying ‘true’ to the other while apart, Troup planting the daisies every year, Beckham blackmailing the warden, them FaceTiming during THAT moment… I couldn’t help but love them to pieces.
But that Foster… What a stinker. I was disappointed in how he handled everything throughout most of the story. I get that he wanted both of them to ‘find their dreams’ before they settled down but it still irked me. (Although Beckham was a little stinker too for not telling her family about herself.)
Excited to get my hands on the next book in the series, Jailbait! (It’ll bring me that much closer to finding out if Crockett will get her HEA in this series!!)
Side Note: Beckham saying that Janie has always been more mature… Ha ha ha.
Conjugal Visits is the second installment in the Soul’s MC. The story is told in three parts, providing a good timeline demarcation which I really like. Conjugal Visita focuses on the Beckham’s and Troupe’s relationship through the yesrs and how Troupe becomes a part of the Soul’s MC
Why I gave it 3-stars: I missed the witty banter that I enjoy in Lani’s books. This book missed the mark in where she usually starts each chapter with a snarky comment or quote that gets you laughing. And the character dialogue didn’t have it either. Secondly, I feel like several chapters are missing that would fill in Beckham’s story and gaps in the overarching storyline from not only the Soul’s MC but several of the other interconnected series by Lani: Freebird, Dixie Warden MC, Bear Bottom MC.
I am looking forward to her next installment in this series Jail Bait, hoping the witty banter is back along with filling in the missing gaps in the Conjugal Visits storyline
I was pretty happy with everything with this story, except for a couple things. The way Beckham handled her parents about Troup. Well more correctly her father, Foster, who for some reason disliked Troup. I think, I needed to see how Beck stood up for her man against her father. Especially, close to the end. Keeping miss understanding, instead of putting on big girl panties. And talking about Beck fathers dislike of Troup. I was confused after how he always so extra reacted about Troup and then when Foster had the talk with Troup. I really don't get his reaction before. It just made no sense to me with the extra part. I liked the connection between Beck and Troup. That was special. The way he was with her... Priceless. I just don't know how I feel about the years they wasted. Well, time can fly fast, but it was about 8 years. Maybe I need it to be handled a bit differently. But in the bigger picture, it didn't bothered me much.
Conjugal Visits is Book 2 of Lani Lynn Vale’s new series - Souls Chapel Revenants MC and was a read in one sitting, drama free, happily ever after, romance read. As with all of Lani’s books, you get a sexy as sin, slightly damaged male and a beautiful and determined heroine. Trouper and Beckham are high school students when they meet. He’s the tattooed bad boy, she’s the prim and proper, good girl. They become friends, lovers, each other’s forever. This book is their journey. One that spans 10 years of living with and without each other. They do a lot of growing and loving and finally get their much deserved happily ever after. I am really enjoying this new series and look forward to reading more. Add Conjugal Visits to your TBR list and enjoy!

Lani sure knows how to hook a woman...sheesh. LOL! This book was good! The characters were addicting and kept me interested. The steam was just right! Over all I definitely enjoyed the book. There were definitely some twists and turns in that I didn’t see coming!
