Sweet Dreams #4

Some Call It Devotion

(Alternate cover edition of ASIN B08DM3ZRHR.)

What would you do if you found out you're married, but can’t remember your wedding?

Tracking down my husband was easy, getting him to sign the divorce papers wasn’t.

Because Landon West has an agenda: He agrees to sign the papers if I live with him for twenty-one days. If I still want to get a divorce at the end, he’ll give it to me. I agree to the deal. And realize my mistake as soon as I move in.

Landon is everything I’m not. Fun, easy-going, loved. He might be my opposite in every way, but he is also the only one who sees the real me. The only one I can truly be myself with. The only one I want to be around every second of every day.

What happens if I don’t want our marriage to end once the twenty-one days are up?

Because that’s not an option. I’m engaged to another man and supposed to marry him in less than three months.

This is a standalone romantic comedy and the fourth book in the Sweet Dreams Series. Fans of accidental marriages, second chances and love at first sight will enjoy Some Call It Devotion.

I love the written word in all forms and shapes and if I'm not glued to a book I'm attempting to write one.

I’m a frequent blonde moment sufferer and still trying to figure out how to adult. I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my two little humans, the holder of my heart and two furry demons. I love to hear from readers so feel free to get in touch.

Content warning:

Dislikes:

It was boring and predictable. Not much happened.

We never get Landon’s POV. He believed they were perfect for each other shortly after meeting her, but it was difficult to see why as we were only ever in Kinsley’s head.

This might be a controversial opinion, but Landon has more chemistry with Willa than he does with Kinsley 🙊 His personality shines when he’s around his bestie. He’s more lighthearted and fun with her. This brings me to my next point.

Landon’s personality was subdued. He’s not as funny as he was as a side character and some of his quirks seem to have disappeared, which sucks because the reason I was so excited for this book is because I wanted to read more about the Landon from the previous books, not this impersonator in his body.

Likes:

I read this because I was in the mood for an accidental marriage romance, so I was happy when that storyline got going right away.

The MCs from the previous books make appearances here. Jameson & Willa are just as cute as ever. Willa was the star of this book tbh. She’s hilarious and extra, which is everything I need in a rom-com. It’s good to know that her prank war with Landon is still going strong. Mason was fun too.

Recommendation: If you’re looking for another accidental marriage rom-com, check out Blind Pass by Teagan Hunter :)

Another excellent book narrated by Mia Madison! Mia's narration brought this story to life and I felt like I was sitting on a couch in their living room and part of this tight group of friends. Her voice is very expressive and you could feel the eye rolls and other gestures throughout this story. I would definitely recommend Mia Madison as a narrator.

BOOK REVIEW:

Kinsley is gaping at the clerk in front of her. She is at the courthouse with her fiance Henry when she is told that she can't get a marriage license because she is already married. Say what?

Luckily, her fiance has been on the phone the entire time and didn't hear this piece of news. He didn't even seem to realize they were leaving without getting the license they were there for.

Eleven months ago she had gotten drunk in Las Vegas, such a surprise, and ended up getting married to a guy she had only known for a few hours. When they woke to find themselves married Landon had promised to take care of it.

Now she has to locate Landon before Henry realizes that she is already married! When Landon hadn't returned any of her calls after leaving Vegas she had deleted his number from her phone. Luckily, she remembered that he had been there for a classic car show with the garage he worked for. So she got on the first flight out of Los Angeles and headed for Denver with divorce papers in hand.

Only when she arrives in Humptulips Landon refuses to sign the papers.

I absolutely love this story! It is very well written and Mia Madison was awesome bringing this story to life. We first meet Kinsley and Landon in the novella Worship and although this book can be read as a standalone novel I would suggest reading/listening to Worship first.

This book is hilarious from start to finish! I love Kinsley and Landon. Landon is calm, but very determined to make Kinsley realize that he knew what he had been doing in Vegas and had no plans in getting a divorce. Kinsley was having a hard time letting go of her ten-year plan and admitting she was right where she was meant to be.

Of all the books in this series, I have to say it has been my favorite. Brielle is such a loveable pain in the backside as younger siblings seem to be, but she definitely needed to grow up. All of the previous couples in this series are back and active participants in the continued story the residents of Humptulips, a small town outside of Denver.

This book is steamy hot and you will fall in love with everyone in this town! This is a very close knit group of friends that love and support each other even as they try to escape Willa's pranks.

Highly recommend this book and can't to read more of this series!

Fun fun fun

Yay! We found out the bomb dropped in the last book. Landon married!? What!!! Not only is he married, he won’t divorce her so she can marry someone else. 21 days...she has to try and live a life of marriage bliss with Landon, in turn he signs the papers.

Can she do it? Or will she fall in love?

This book is full of laughs. We get to see the fun side of Landon. He is a wonderful man. And the antics between him and Willa planking each other is a barrel of hilarious entertainment.

Overall I rate this as another successful read in the series. It is full of fun, games, uncertainty and love. A great story with an amazing character lineup. If you haven’t started this series, then you better hurry up. Don’t miss out on this fun loving gang.

I was instantly hooked from the beginning when Kinsley is applying for a marriage license only to discover she's still married. Thankfully, her fiance is too distracted with a phone call that he doesn't hear that she's already married. Now, Kinsley has to locate her husband to get him to sign the divorce papers. Landon, Kinsley's husband, is determined to save his marriage. Never mind that the day they married is also the day they met, so it's quite difficult for Kinsley to understand why Landon won't give her a divorce.

This story is fun and sweet. There's that small-town feel with all its charm, and there are fun side characters. I have enjoyed listening to this series, and this story is my favorite.

Mia Madison did an excellent job narrating the story and all the characters.

Audio review 🎧

Events pick up after Worship and weave a sweet story filled with fun. Landon's Devotion and unselfishness is amazing. Kinsley is still determined to follow her life plan and has dug in her heels, though this stubborness is severely tested by spending time with this lovely man and getting to know the other residents of Humptulip?, Willa is fun, but dangerous to know with her proclivity for practical jokes! Mia Madison narrates beautifully. Her pace, tone and expression are all perfect for this type of story. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!! 💖💖💖💖💖

I love this series.

What can I say, but I was pleasantly surprised? I loved Landon in the previous books in the series, and was a tad disappointed when he didn't end up with Willa in the prior book.... but I LOVED this installment. I was honestly going into this with an eyeroll, expecting some knock-off of Sweet Home Alabama, but this was nothing like I expected. It was so much better !
Do yourself a favour, and get this book in your library!

I know I'm reading this series in reverse but after reading Some Call It Attraction, I just had to know what happens with everyone in the series. This book was full of laughs and fun and pranks. I adored Landon (where can I find me one of him?? lol) and I was rooting for him and Kinsley from page 1. Kinsley's character development was so realistic and relatable and I'm so glad she was able to find her happily ever after! Can't wait to read about the other favorites in Humptulips.

I won an ARC of his book from the author. This is my first Sarah Peis book and it was very enjoyable. I really like Landon and Kinsley. Willa is such a character and I need to go back and read her book. She adds great humor to the book. I’d like to get to know Boone better. I have a feeling there will be a story there.

This was an adorable book and I couldn't put it down. I am glad we finally got Landon's story and it was worth the wait. I would suggest you read the novella Worship first so you get Landon and Kinsley's back story but it can be reas as a stand alone.

Fairly clean romance

Definitely read the WORSHIP novella first so that you have all the details leading up to the beginning. Super cute, great group of supporting characters.

Loved everything about this story but no spoilers here. (Kinsley and Landon's story is best read after their introduction in Worship.) The thing I really enjoy most in this series is how hard every one loves (plus the funny parts!) whether friends, co-workers or in a relationship. And how loyal they are too. Great book, with wonderful friendships and lots of steam!
