Shift 3⭐️ - interesting human/werewolf story. Not sure I am a fan of Abe as he seems to continually make excuses and blatantly ignore the hostility from his sister Bea and her friend Payton towards Elle making the situation even worse for her. Especially given her lack of family ties of course the harsh words from some in the pack and immediate family are goin to cause Elle to not feel welcomed.
Notes: why didn’t Abe put Elle in the front middle between him and Payton? She could have slid through on the driver side and reiterated that he wasn’t interested in Payton. Just creating more drama.
Howl 2.5⭐️ - Abe again isn’t doing a great job of standing up for Elle causing continued drama. Abe doesn’t seem to be an observant alpha and so are all the enforcers to not recognize the serial killer werewolf amidst them. Abe also seems to stonewall Elle often for 80-90% of the story and doesn’t just wants Elle to do everything he wants and takes no consideration of Elle’s wishes especially with the way Payton continues to hang all over him. I’m kinda surprised the mating bond wasn’t in danger of breaking given his constant and continued acceptance of Payton’s antics.
Notes: - again Abe is not helping Ell at all with Payton and her blatant attempts to get rid of Ell at every turn. - I feel this will continue and cause Elle to leave. - I feel like Elle could easily have told Bae that she was marking her territory in leaving scratches on her mate Abe. - how come no one else in the pack can tell that Abe and Elle are fated mates? Seems like something that should be advertised to the pack or something they can all smell/sense - fuck Abe like if Elle didn’t have to deal with all the pack bs all the time maybe she’d have time to job hunt for a closer firm, wtf how has he managed a pack thus far? - WTF is Elle listening to anything that Payton says? Like honestly ask him or his sisters. Fuck don’t listen to Payton. They’re obviously both idiots. - also like why is she jumping to incorrect conclusions when she’s freaked out over everything this far with their relationship and what it means. - welp she’s just giving Payton what she wants - why is Calvin always there to take Elle away from Abe and the pack? - Elle is an idiot, only 4 pack members know where she lives how does Calvin? - -
Rise 3⭐️ - Elle and Abe continue to have the same issues from the previous 2 books, like they’re not learning from past mistakes and not growing in their relationship and how they react. Payton is still an issue in this book, but more discoveries are included on Elle’s genealogy.
This series started slow. The first book is all TENSION, in a good way. We get to know all of the characters and how they each develop a relationship with Elizabeth (El, Ellie). Who is killing the women?? What does any of it have to do with Elizabeth? Why her?
Howl starts with BANG!!! El & Abraham have broken the seal and it just gets better. Although Elizabeth thinks that fated mates is BS. With so many obstacles and an equal amount of second guessing El and Abey are taking things slow....not at werewolf fated mate speed.
Rise give us all of the answers & then caused more questions, which leads into an incomplete series about the 4 McCoy sisters. The McCoys are hurt by the way things turn out in Howl although the outcome could not be avoided every McCoy feels the betrayal including Ellie, but is what is to come worse? Ellie and Abey find happiness but not without another's world almost breaking.
Elizabeth was bitten by a wolf in the woods. Elizabeth is helped by a man named Abraham. Elizabeth is drawn to him but there is her past she has to deal with. She is also dealing with what is happening to her. You will get a great story that features family, the love story that packs a lot of steam and the danger to her and the pack.
I loved this story from the first chapter, it will draw you in and you will not want to put this down at all. This book is a rollercoaster ride, you will love. There are so many rich characters that will you not be able to choose. From the fast pace of the action or the steamy build with the main characters.
I love a good wolf shifter book as much as the next person, but...This wasn't at all what I thought I was getting myself into. I thought in buying a three book boxed set I was getting three separate books. This wasn't the case though. One story line three extremely long books. I kept reading because I needed to know how it all came to an end. I just didn't think it would talk well over a hundred chapters to get to where others have done in a third of the time. Makes me sad because I love the characters and I am afraid every story is this long. 😐
I really have to say there is something about that slow burn that makes it so much better. My only complaint was the inner monologing was not in the best places. Like in the middle of a fight scene. The monolog could be a while page, right in the middle of an intense scene, taking away some of the tension. But great building otherwise. Did not see that coming in some parts, but knew in others.
I enjoyed these books. It was a little hard to connect with the characters at first, but they definitely grow on you as the story progresses. El irritated me in book three with her uncertainty and need to put logic behind the magic, but that’s how the author intended her to come across, so I guess well done.
Absolutely loved the series 3rd time I’ve read the entire series and I have started the spin off too Really amazing writing storyline and plot worth reading every bit
It started really good. But the smart heroin in reality was very dumb (dumb thinking, dumb actions) Her character was not likeabel at all. I do not like charachters who lie. The plot was ineresting but the too much out of context sex ruined it.
You know a book is good when you look at how many pages you have left and your gut drops with what you’re going to do without it. It’s ok though, I have the sisters to read about now. Absolute sterling read.
A criminal lawyer, on a weekend getaway gets bitten by a werewolf. She's introduced to the werewolf pack life, while trying to maintain her old life. Her alpha wants to claim her for his own. Excellent, interesting, intriguing series, loved it !!!
this was my first paranormal read that I actually finished since twilight. I love the utter devotion that Abe showed Elizabeth. The way his family took her in. I know she had commitment issues, but some of her flighty responses irked me to my core, but that Abe just kept coming back for more.
