Two men. Two separate worlds. It was only supposed to be a single night of steamy sex.
Dax Phillips has never known stability, so he does his best to work toward it. But when he falls for the one man he shouldn’t, he’s so unsure of himself he has trouble believing that someone that grounded could possibly be interested.
Anderson Engleson has a lot to show for his hard work. He has a successful career, nice house, a close best friend, but he’s yet to find that one person he can call his.
Can a one-night stand turn into more? When Professor Anderson Engleson and his new student Dax Phillips realize what could happen if anyone found out, will they call it quits? Will they make it sixteen weeks or are they willing to break all of the rules?
Sixteen Weeks Later is the full-length novel that started as Sixteen Weeks. It has been both expanded and lengthened. This book is a complete standalone.
Sixteen Weeks Later started off steamy and with a great storyline, Dax meets Anderson at a bar, they go back to Anderson house, have an amazing time, then Dax leaves in the middle of the night while Anderson is sleeping. To only realize Dax is Anderson student.
Shortly after that is where I couldn't connect with the characters. The story line would seem to keep jumping ahead, with a gaps missing in-between. One page there on vacation and then next page they’re home, and you don’t know much about what happened on their vacation, and this is a vital part of the story. Next chapter, you hear some parts of the vacation.
The sex scenes are well written and steamy. Sixteen Weeks later had potential but didn’t quite make it for me.
I got lost at some of their break ups, they were not explained like one chapter they are together but not the other ? Idk if i got a bogged version but i just don't have it in me to finish it.
Even if i would have finished it, it would have been 3 stars
Being a bit...ahem...older and settled I got Anderson’s need to push, control, and protect. And I also understood Dax’s insecurities, he just couldn’t believe his luck when it came to Anderson. The story, their relationship was epic. My only issue with this book was the fluidity of the story telling, the events. I think at one point I thought I had maybe skipped pages and read through incidents because they weren’t mentioned till way later. There were a few rough spots where I was a tad lost. (Mainly at the 40-50% mark.)
I really liked Anderson and Dax, and I rooted for them from the beginning. But the lack of communication between them drove me insane!!! They had no problem speaking to their BFFs about things, but they wouldn’t speak to each other. Anderson was always saying they needed to talk, but they didn’t have an actual conversation about anything until 80%!!!
A lot of this story was internal musings. I wanted more communication, even if it was just get-to-know-you talking. The story really lacked in dialogue between the two MCs.
If the whole book would have been written like the last 20% —and I don’t mean just the vocal sex scenes (which were completely different from the sex scenes in the first 80% of the book)—I would have rated this much higher.
DAX and Anderson are both really likeable characters who have instant chemistry buzzing between them. They have one sizzling night together and then when the college semester begins, learn that they have a Professor/student relationship which changes everything. They try their best to stay away from each other until after graduation in sixteen weeks. Then the many steamy scenes hit the high heat levels. Of course all is not smooth sailing and it’s not always easy but they get through it and a beautiful HEA is theirs. This was an enjoyable easy read especially if you’re after an age gap romance with lovely characters, not too much angst and lots of steam.
This is a high heat story between two very different men. They meet by chance and enjoy a night together. When they are reunited both are shocked and realize there can’t be a relationship at least not right away. The ensuing story takes the two through sixteen very long weeks before the two can finally chase happy ever after. Beyond the sixteen weeks shows a slow and passionate build toward forever that will keep you captivated to the end. This book will be enjoyed by those that love an age gap and the teacher/student dynamic.
Likeable enough story with likeable MCs... Dax & Anderson but their communications skills left a lot to be desired and that drove me crazy after a while.
TAGS -- age difference -- professor/student -- one night stand leads to more -- need to learn to communicate -- some sweet moments -- some sexy moments -- likeable MCs... Dax & Anderson -- satisfying HEA -- read in one sitting
I freaking loved this story!! Dax and Anderson share one insanely hot night together. Imagine their surprise when they meet again, in the least unexpected place. Anderson is Dax's professor for the next sixteen weeks. Sixteen weeks of longing, need, want, and secret touches. They can't get each other out of their minds and know that there is something special there, they just have to survive the next sixteen weeks until they can see if they truly have something to build on. What a great story...I was hooked from beginning to end and didn't want to see it end. I laughed, cried, and swooned during the hot steamy times. What a great story and one that I would recommend to all. I can't wait for the next book that this talented author releases. Well done!!
A perfect combination of hot & sexy with sweet and beautiful all wrapped up in an incredible story that I could not put down! Anderson and Dax have a scorchingly hot one night stand only to then unexpectedly see each other again, Anderson is Dax's, professor for the next 16 weeks. Their chemistry is combustible and you can feel it right through the pages of this book that is so expertly written. How can they possibly resist one another for the next 16 weeks! It's and incredible story that will have you laughing at tines and maybe even crying a little not to mention squirming with the hot times! Definitely a must read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Dax a college student, hook's up with a one nighter that was incredible. Hot guy, even hotter sex but he leaves at 4am to get home.
Anderson the hot guy, wakes up without his one nighter but wishes he was there for a repeat that morning. But in reality he never does repeats.
This is a great story of meeting someone you cannot have but crave. Well written and it really kept my interest at all times. The characters are great even if they have flaws, don't we all.
Absolutely amazing!! I fall in love with Dax and Anderson right in the first page. Their first meeting is so HOT and their chemistry is off the charts. I just couldn't get enough of this teacher/student romance. The emotions that these two go through is so amazing. I just love seeing how they are together without breaking the rules and seeing how they were going to last the 16 weeks. Definitely a story I would recommend!
This book was on fire from page one and I absolutely loved reading Dax & Anderson’s love story! Their chemistry was off the charts from the moment their eyes met across the bar! Taylor really pulled out all the sexiness with this book and it was truly amazing! Dave & Ethan were amazing side characters and truly amazing friends to the guys! Dax & Anderson deserved the world and that’s what they got when they found each other! Beautiful story with a beautiful ending! ❤️❤️
So much angst! Despite a 20-year age-gap, this has all the angst of a new adult romance. This is not say the older lead acted like a college student, because he didn't. Rather, Dax provided an extra serving of new adult angst, but not in a bad way. Dax's character actually felt realistic. This might not have been my favorite of Rylan's books, but it was still an enjoyable read. 3.5 stars.
Loved this story. It was so romantic I couldn’t stop reading. It was a amazing adventure through the land minds of like and how the MC made it start to finish. Love unsure Dax he just needs the right love. Anderson was a stunning character and I loved his way with Dax. Great Read.
Short, and sweet......the author has written a marvelous, amazing, tug-at-your-heartstrings, slow burning, delightful, poignant, wonderful, heartfelt, and totally awesome expansion of her beautiful short story. It pulled me in from the very first page, and I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this lovely gem for yourself.
It's my first time reading this author work and it didn't disappoint me, I loved them all. The series was filled with hot sexy boys in their quest to find their perfect partners. It was also good to see the previous couples throughout the series as they grow with their families. It was an easy 5 stars from me.
Beautiful story loved it right from the beginning. Loved the characters in it, too. Loved the scenes in it as well it was like being there with them. Thanks, Taylor, for a great work. I love it
Wao what a book!! Just couldn't keep the book down even for a second. Makes me wish that even i had someone love me so much. *Dreamy sigh* . Perfect Good Read ❤️
3 stars I was very interested in this book when I read the Student/teacher forbidden love trope. But this... this book wasn't what I expected at all. At some point I just felt annoyed at the whole situation and lost interest on reading because it just didn't made much sense overall to just move the story on tiny steps forward to just stop and take a giant step back. Neither one of the characters did it for me. I just didn't care for them. if you take out the sex* and only leave the relationship . All that it is left is a sort of twisted family dinamic. Like a dad's friend taking care of the kid after the dad died sort of thing. * The sexual chemestry between them it was sort of... wacked? I don't know. Like a disconnection. A push and pull all the time one waiting for the other to move but when one moved the other backed out. I don't know it just felt odd to me. It wasn't a bad read and maybe you'll understand it more than I did and love it. I get what the author tried to do painting a real life timeline and trying to get as most real as possible but the overall execution just didn't felt right to me.
