In this brief autobiography, Jan Jenkins relates an encouraging spiritual journey, as she and her husband, Charles, moved from retirement in Central Pennsylvania to beginning Christian missionary work in Belize. After growing up in California and living in Pennsylvania for over twenty years, Jan and Charles found that the changes in environment and culture were exceptionally exciting and challenging. Experiencing some culture shock, they understood the importance of adapting to the new culture, rather than thinking that they could simply change the Belizean people to suit their own preconceptions and living habits. Some of their experiences were indeed shocking and enduring encounters with scorpions and other insects, experiencing enervating heat and humidity, learning about the time schedules and money systems of the Belizean people and government workers, as well as trusting God to meet their needs in miraculous ways. Jan's story, therefore, is engaging and uplifting, and her desire is that others may find similar purposes in their lives, regardless of their conditions. Charles and Janice have sincerely desired to follow the Lord wherever He may direct them. This commitment has led them through challenging and life-changing physical and spiritual experiences. In Belize, they were vividly reminded that God is at work all around the world, and He has blessed them abundantly by allowing them to be His representatives in this beautiful country.
