Dragons' Teeth: Red Dragon Book 2

Rate this book
Robin spent half the summer helping to save the world, after finding out that magic is more than just being able to notice things that most people don't see, and that all sorts of dangerous magical beings are real. Dragons, vampires, elves - and they all seem to think of humans as somewhere between cockroaches and cattle. But her cousin is still missing, although not in the dubious care of the vampires who kidnapped her - and on the way to try to find her before she self-rescuing-princesses herself into more trouble than she can get out of, Robin gets a little bit lost. In the Otherworld. With the dangerous magical beings who may or may not think she's a cockroach - or maybe, that she's one of them.

Danielle has been creating stories - and voraciously devouring other people's stories - since before she could read (her mother once had to record herself reading a favorite aloud so that thebook could go back to the library). Learning to read only encouraged her.

She's lived in five different cities, and visited several more, and she plans to go into space one day in order to see the world from outside. Her favorite authors are too many and varied to list, but include Neill Gaiman, Charles de Lint, CS Friedman, and Roger Zelazny.

Danielle currently lives in Perth, Western Australia, with several cats, one human, and a great many plants.

Once again, a very compelling book. This one is set almost entirely in the Otherworld, and features Robin and the various fragments of the Red Dragon (Mephistos) from the first book.

I thought that having a smaller cast of protagonists worked better than the large cast in the previous novel. I also thought that it was refreshing to have a (semi-) redemption arc alongside the hero's journey arc.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
