Trey Westcott—devastatingly gorgeous. Intimidatingly brilliant. Powerful beyond belief.

A man with all the money in the world—literally.

As the first trillionaire in existence, my boss lives a life most people can only dream of. Anything he wants—anything at all—is a snap-of-the-fingers away.

But when the coldhearted magnate snaps his fingers and requests me for a stint on his arm playing the role of his devoted fiancée and then some, he makes an offer I can’t refuse.

And so I don’t.

But I make it clear that he’ll have my time, my body, my attention, my discreet professionalism—everything except my heart.

It’s not for sale.

Because all the money in the world can’t change the secret I’ve kept the last eight years. A secret that complicates the very business deal I’m to help him secure. A secret that makes the undeniable tension between us all the more forbidden.

Trey Westcott can have anything he wants ... but he can never have me.

Even if he’s all I’ve ever wanted.

I tried to like this book. Miss Renshaw books usually throwing a unexpected twist at the end. Trillion is no exception. The plot is hidden between past and present. Especially from Sophie's past.

What fail is Miss Renshaw took forever to come into the climax that I got really bored on the middle. There were time where I just want to shelved this under DNF.

Anyway.... it is a closing book for my weekend.

“Trey Westcott can have anything he wants ... but he can never have me. Even if he’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

Trillion is the all new trillionaire/fake relationship standalone romance from Winter Renshaw. Trey Westcott has the world at his fingertips—-literally. Being the richest man in the world means he gets anything he wants with a snap of his fingers. So when Sophie Bristol is given the deal of a lifetime just to play the role of his doting fiancée, she takes it. He can have everything but her heart, because even the richest man in the world can’t erase the very secret she’s been harboring for eight years....a secret that threatens the very deal he’s trying to secure. Her heart isn’t for sale, too bad it didn’t get the memo.

“She’s everything I never knew I was missing in my life.”

Winter is one of very few authors I will always agree to ARC read/review for, being a stickler for honesty in my reviews but also not wanting to completely drag an author’s hard work through the mud when they so graciously let me read it early.....I don’t have to worry about that because I have yet to read anything from her that didn’t earn all my praise & adoration. So seeing this on my Kindle, I was all in and ready to be consumed by another Winter page turner. It was definitely different, a story that can stand on its own and say it’s not the same ole same ole. It’s angsty & intense, unconventional & exciting, steamy yet sweet....but above all it was unexpected & fresh. The way this story was told, building up both her heartbreaking past & their hopeful present towards that single moment they finally intersect in such devastating fashion, is an example of just how talented Winter is in the art of fantastic storytelling. Trey may be a breath of fresh air, but Sophie comes in and makes this HER story. Together?
description
They will steal your heart in yet another incredible read from this brilliant woman!

Book Facts:
Told in: Dual POV, bouncing from Sophie’s past (8 years earlier) & their present for much of the book.
Type? Complete standalone, no other reads are necessary to fully enjoy this book.
Triggers: N/A
Ends in: HEA ending with extended epilogue.

The Main Players:
Sophie Bristol: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Modern day Marilyn/pin-up, stunning beauty, complex, smart, successful, knows her worth, jaded, guarded, loyal, strong willed, selfless, good-hearted, witty.
“I’m not a pawn, Mr. Westcott,” she says, spoken like a woman who knows her worth. “And I’m not for sale.”

Trey Westcott: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Richest man in the world, smart, determined, spoiled, successful, ruthless, surprisingly unexpected, a thing for control, upfront/honest, good guy, charming, thoughtful, charitable/giving, powerful.
“I’m not buying your heart, Sophie. And I’m certainly not trying to sell you on mine.”

What Worked:
Past/Present Storytelling: At first I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the back & forth past/present switch up, wondering if it would interfere with the couple’s story or make it impossible to establish that connection with Sophie immediately (through her past). Instead, it was a brilliant choice on Winter’s part.....seeing both stories build up and build up until they were forced to intersect. It gave a level of intensity and suspense I know the story would’ve lacked had everything been put on the table from the very start......and the past was crucial in us truly comprehending the Sophie we get in the “now”......
Heartbreak is a bitter, jagged pill. But it just might be the guilt of everything I’ve sacrificed that does me in.

Trey Westcott: He was totally unexpected, a true breath of fresh air. I figured as the romance world’s first trillionaire he would be like all the other arrogant & awful rich guys but like times 10.....in some ways he is what we expect.....
“The more she pulls, the more I’m going to push. It’s what I do. I know no other way.”
description
....but in so many other ways he is everything we don’t.
“Can I sleep in a guest room tonight?” I ask when we get back to the estate. “Just for a little space?” “No,” he says, avoiding my stare. “I’ll sleep in a guest room. You can have our bed.”
description
He is understanding and thoughtful, honest and caring.....he isn’t a pushover but he never treats her as anything less than the rarity that she is. I absolutely adored him.

Their Connection: I was a little nervous about how she would create a connection I could believe in between two characters who were so set in their ways against love. I should’ve known she would pull it off.....
description
....it wasn’t an overnight instalove type situation, it was one that totally crept up on you. It wasn’t in the words but silence, not the actions but the moments leading up to those.....
“I think you’re falling for me, Sophie. I see it in your eyes. I hear it in all the things you don’t say. And I think it terrifies you.”
.....no matter how hard she fought it or he just tried to ignore it, by the time they got to this point.....
“He loved her to the point of obsession sometimes. And I never understood how someone could be so fixated on anyone else … but I get it now. That level of devotion makes sense, and it’s all because of you, Sophie, that I finally understand it.”
description
.....their connection was one hard fought and deserving.

Sophie Bristol: I won’t claim that she will be at the top of my faves list, but that doesn’t take away from what an exceptionally rare type of “different” she was. I mean any heroine that has the gorgeous most powerful and richest man in the world feeling like this.....
SOPHIE: You’re too much. ME: And apparently not enough.
....is someone to pay attention to. I loved how she allowed her past to shape her present, how she refused to be reduced to a dollar sum and a loveless contract. It is never about the money for her, it’s about knowing her worth and refusing to sell herself to a man that isn’t deserving of her giving herself freely....
“Is that supposed to make me feel special?” I’m teasing. Sort of. “You don’t need anyone to make you feel special,” he says as we walk toward one of the many doors on the back of the stone palace. “And you know this or you wouldn’t have turned down my offer.”
description
There were some things at the end concerning her I thought were rather naive and didn’t “fit” her, but overall she was the kind of different I’m a fan of.

What Didn’t:
Rushed Last 20%: Winter spends so much time and careful attention to nearly every aspect of the storytelling in the first 70-80% of the story. So when we get to that last 20-ish%, I felt like it didn’t match up to how fantastic the rest was. It forced Sophie to react and make decisions that did not mirror the woman she had been up until that point. I get it was necessary in order for some things to play out, yet it just didn’t “fit” and really didn’t make a ton of sense realistically or character-wise. There are some points that I felt were skimmed over and not fully resolved and others that were just rushed past in order to get to HEA. It wasn’t enough to majorly ruin or truly affect the overall book, but it just didn’t match.

Some Contradictions: This is normally where I HATE to be nitpicking BUT I bring it up in other book reviews so its only fair. There were some minor contradictions that I have to point out.....
description
....from Sophie going to bed in a nightie and panties but somehow waking up naked.....to Trey turning his $500 billion inheritance into a net worth that tops a trillion, only for it to then be said that he turned his millions in inheritance into billions becoming one of the worlds youngest billionaires and then those billions into a trillion....to once again, Sophie’s complete change of character during the “drama” of the last portion of the book. Again, this is me being nit picky but also being fair to other authors I point this out with....

The Verdict:

As I’ve said time and time again, Winter Renshaw knows how to write a dang story. No matter what she’s tackled in the last year, it’s resulted in phenomenal reads with unique storylines with easy to root for characters. Trillion is no different, adding yet another on top of the already overwhelming pile of reasons that she is one of my faves and an instant one-click worthy author. Add it to your kindle but make sure you have plenty of time to devour it in one sitting when you flip it open.....it’s another unputdownable one from this masterful storytelling Queen!

AHHH!! I absolutely love Winter Renshaw's stories. They are always sexy, full of amazing banter and pack an emotional punch. Trillion was no different. I loved Trey and Sophie's love story! Trillion was sexy and absolutely delicious!!

There is nothing I love more than the fake fiance trope. Sophie was smart and sassy and gave as good as she got. Trey was uber sexy and knew what he wanted when he saw it. Sophie fit the mold of what he wanted but he could never have expected how she would bring him to his knees and blow up all his preconceived expectations of love. I loved this story so much! ~Ratula, 5 Trillion Fabulous Stars!

urgh, there was smth so off about this story...

It's like I never really "felt any empathy", it's like I was looking at the power point presentation and being fed with a bunch of crossover info to process...

ah well, it happens....

it had so much potential, though...but I never felt the love growing between the main characters and that really was the whole point of the story.

Ms. Winter has done it again, Trillion was amazing from beginning to end. She has a way of creating characters that get under your skin. The journey of Trey and Sophia is a complicated one but one that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's captivating, intriguing and how I like the witty banter between Trey and Sophia, it's lovely and the romance was hot. I couldn’t put it down. It was beautifully written and a gorgeous love story. I enjoyed this story and highly recommend it!

Note: I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.

Painful. Slow. Uncomfortable. Predictable. Forced myself to keep reading it just went on and on but rushed ending after all that Didn’t enjoy it much at all. Supposed to feel bad for heroine and be on her side but I just disliked her. Where was her revenge? She just rolled over and took it. Hero fixed it all in the empty space between the end and the epilogue. No romance. Robotic. Faint spark of sexiness. Ruined by the dread and trauma of the storyline. At least no cliff hanger and HAE but unfinished business with daughter but I don’t care. Sad as I’ve loved some of her other work :(

Fake relationship tropes are my weakness, especially with an irresistible boss!

Trillion is a sexy and emotional romance featuring two broken characters. Sophie’s heart was broken at a young age by putting her trust and love in the wrong man. Vowing to never be ‘bought’ again, she focuses on taking care of her mother and younger sister. But Trey makes her an offer that seems too good to be true. Trey also suffered his own heartbreak. Having lost both his parents at a young age, he dedicates his life to work, growing his business into a huge conglomerate and hitting the epic ‘trillionaire’ milestone. But he needs Sophie’s help.

Sophie and Trey have a complicated relationship. Not only are they boss/employee, they also have an undeniable attraction towards each other. Trey needs to prove that he’s a “family man” in order to acquire a business he’s been working on purchasing. So in comes the fake fiancé deal. As a man who always gets what he wants, Trey doesn’t take no for an answer. Willing to do whatever it takes to support her family, Sophie accepts. But at what cost? And as they work together to prove their relationship is real, their emotions and broken hearts intertwine with the fake and her past collides with their present.

Sophie was the standout in this novel. My own heart broke for the experiences she endured as a young woman. The manipulation and deceit she fell victim to was just gut wrenching. It’s no wonder she had such tall and thick walls surrounding her heart. But I knew Trey could break down those defenses and prove to Sophie that not all men are like the one from her past. And she was the perfect woman Trey needed to balance out his life. Their chemistry was sweet and fiery, with the addition of witty banter and emotional twists.

Although the ending did feel a bit rushed, the epilogue put a nice bow on the conclusion of their story, giving readers just a bit more of their HEA.

Trillion is full of heat, heart, and empathy. The writing is superb, like always, and the charming characters and engaging story line make this book an absolute must read!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Where do I even start woth this review, Sophie and Trey have one complicated relationship which they only continue to complicate.

Sophie Bristol has always thought she could not be bought, her heart is frozen and she’s determined to never fall in love again after she barely survived the last time. But when Trey approaches her with an offer that she cannot refuse she makes it clear that this is just a job and she has no intentions of falling in love. But the man she thought she knew suddenly is not the one she is realising is below the surface if only you look for it. But just when she starts to accept the feelings she’s coming to realise is love her past comes back to haunt her and could destroy what she never knew she wanted, is she willing to risk it all for love?

Trey Westcott is an extremely successful businessman he thinks he can buy anything he wants including people so when he chooses Sophie Bristol as the one he needs to help him close a business deal he isn’t expecting her resistance or having to work for her to agree. Trey is a loner in many senses of the word and doesn’t find it easy to trust, so when he feels himself falling for the woman who he’s playing pretend with can he trust that the feelings are real?

This was a rollercoaster of everything, Sophie’s need to protect herself is felt through each page of the book and her fear of letting her heart feel again and will Trey see past the secrets she had been forced to keep. Well written, engaging book that kept me on my toes nearly as much as Sophie did to Trey. Although I own quite a few of this authors books I haven’t read any and she is an author I’m looking forward to reading more from in the future. Highly recommended read. 4.5* read.

I've been called the most powerful man in the world - but suddenly, she's the most powerful soul in mine.

Trillion is a beautiful tale of a girl who tought she was loved by a man who promised her the whole world, bought her gifts and made her fell special.
But then she saw him for who he truly was and her whole world fell apart. She sworn herself to guard her heart in the future, and to never ever let a man come this close.

But Trey is nothing like that man. With each day she gets to know him better, and with each day he steals a little piece of her heart.

I loved Sophie for all the reasons she held herself back. And then seing Trey whisking away all those fears...Beautiful!

A fake engagement romance with the boss is never a good idea. But life's short...eat the CAKE!

Sophie has been taking care of her family forever. Her little sister suffers from a debilitating disease and her mom is raising them by herself. At seventeen she makes a life altering decision that will lead her down a path she never would have chosen for herself.

Now, almost ten years later she is a strong, independent woman. She knows what she wants and she is not willing to settle. She cannot be bought, no matter the amount of money thrown at her. The scar she bares tell the tale of a former love gone bad. She promised herself, never again. She is not for sale.

Trey is a trillionaire. He is young, has more money than he could ever spend in a hundred lifetimes and he is persistent. When he wants something, he does not stop until he gets it. His current focus is on a business he wants to acquire. The only problem is that the seller has conditions. Trey must be a family man before he'll be allowed to purchase the company.

The self-proclaimed bachelor now has to find a woman to become his partner, in order to seal the deal. When he literally runs into Sophie in the hallway at work, he's met the woman he wants for the job. It's not going to be easy, but he's going to get the girl.

This story is sexy and sassy. Sophie is no shrinking violet and she makes Trey work for every insight into who she is. She is locked down like a vault. Her past has tainted her belief in happily ever after. She struggles to let go and open her heart. Good thing Trey is no quitter. He's ready to do whatever it takes to win her over and keep her forever.

The author delivers a story with twists and emotion. I never know quite what to expect, but I always know I'll be having all the feels. This story comes full circle and finally gives Sophie the HEA she has always deserved.

This was so much more complex than a fake relationship story and I was hooked right away. I loved the parallels between Sophie’s past and present and trying to figure out her relationship with Nolan was half the fun. Trey was a very interesting character and I love how he wasn’t your typical uber rich guy. I really wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary but this was such a great twist on a simple trope and I think Trillion has replaced Absinthe as my favorite Renshaw read!

Meh.

I read this book a few weeks ago and honestly can’t remember what it’s about. After reading a few other reviews, I recall it being about a TRILLIONaire who offers marriage of convenience to some poor woman (aren’t they all?) and yeah, some plot twist about a secret baby etc etc.

I didn’t hate this one, but I didn’t love it either.

This was another fast paced book, which lacks any real character building.

It also used flash backs (albeit short ones) throughout and I really am not a fan of these.

Trey, is a Trillionaire and Sophie works for him. In order to close a deal, his seller demands that he marry and have a baby before he will hand over his empire to Trey. Trey had ‘bumped’ into Sophie that morning, so immediately knows that he wants her to be his ‘wife’.

Sophie puts up a good fight in the beginning, but soon gives in and agrees to the arrangement.

There’s a twist that we are fed using the flashbacks I mention. About half way in it becomes apparent what the twist is, and the twist is ridiculous IMO.

Though, if you’re in a book funk and not looking for a book to take too seriously, this is a quick okay read.

So I can't say I loved this book, but I can't say I hated it either, I really enjoyed the story line, it was a little predictable but still a very interesting and engrossing one, I just didn't feel any chemistry between the characters at all, it was almost clinical, there was just no spark and unfortunately it let the book down.

A TRILLION REASONS TO ENJOY THE MAJORITY OF THIS FETCHING ROMANCER

“I’m not arm candy. I’m not a commodity or a business acquisition. I have my reasons. And they number in the trillions.” ~~ Sophie Bristol

Mostly, TRILLION captivates and lulls one helplessly into a beguiling couple and an unusual romance. That gimmicky title is our first shot at a trillionaire H, but it pales beside the man himself. Delicious Trey may be the richest man in the world, but the essence of him overshadows his wealth. Millionaire … billionaire .. gazillionaire … pffft, who cares because Trey is worth more than money. You’d be wrong to think this story belongs to Trey because heroine Sophie demands the spotlight. This is very much her story. Trey is but a smitten admirer in her shining orbit and on the ride of his life.

“I can’t do love. Love is for the fucking birds.” Famous last words, Trey.

Such a different spin this puts on a fake engagement. A contract between a rich CEO and his employee. No chance of either catching feelings and both getting exactly what they want – a business deal for him and millions for her if all goes right. History repeats itself for Sophie, but not the same as in the past. “I’ll be damned if I let another man put a price on me again.” A lesson learned early for Sophie that love is not a commodity for sale. She values intangible things and nothing material … things one can’t put a price on, while Trey is all about material acquisitions.

“I always get what I want. And I want Sophie Bristol.” ~~ Trey

The MCs are so well-matched with opposite personalities and views of life, yet witty, intelligent, snarky, and fit each other like a glove. Both scarred by heartbreak and emotional experiences that are different, yet define them in similar ways. Neither rich Trey (35) nor poor Sophie (27) is looking for a love mate because of their pasts. The first half of the dual-POV book is alternating "past and present" chapters that detail Sophie’s heartbreak history 10 years back and how she now works for Trey’s mega corporation, which put her in his sights. Sophie stands out as a beautiful bombshell of substance. Not a shrinking violet or a pushover for a perfect man used to getting his way. She never makes it easy for him. Their contractual relationship starts out fake but morphs into more.

There are rose gardens, and cigars, and comfortable silences that speak volumes. A dangerous line between love and lust exists that might change everything. Playing house together with fringe benefits, while still trying to hold fast to their guarded rules is more than a challenge. A good chunk of the book – the best part -- is the real intimacy that develops. As they dig into each other, the thing they fear most happens. And Sophie’s past and secrets come back to haunt her in an ironic intersection of past and present that not only tests the couple’s feelings, but all that Sophie has tried in vain to reconcile and bury about her past.

Trey was a hunk of a dream guy. Not the typical, self-centered richie. He reads Sophie so well and coaxes her to open up and explore their feelings. Sophie isn’t the typical uptight, rigid woman scorned who resists intimacy and guards her heart with an Uzi. There’s heartbreak and walled hearts for sure, but neither one plays games and the best of intentions are no match for genuine feelings. The outcome was the sweetest revenge and romantically swoony in an enjoyable journey to love. His advice to her was upper level hand-to-heart:

“When things are too much, count to 3 to ground yourself. That space between two and three? That’s where you need to be. That’s where you’ll find peace. That’s where you can just be.” Oh, Trey.

It’s a very good read, but not quite 5-stars. The last 20% felt anti-climactic after so much buildup and certain things niggled at me when Sophie’s past and present collide because there was "more tell than show". I’d already guessed both surprise twists, but expected more confrontation. The end felt rushed and skimmed over heavy stuff about Sophie’s past and some reactions didn’t ring true for closure. I didn’t like her clinging to a touch of naïveté and inaction that no longer fit her. There were better options to handle the threat from her past, which she just ignored and was needlessly fearful of standing up to it in the present, as if she was still 18. The glossing over of Sasha also bothered me. And OMG, why was Trey wearing 1950s Brylcream in his hair?! LOL That said, my focus was on the actual romance and all the fantastic, emotional depth because they really connected on every level. Aside to WR: Too funny. I share knowledge of the inside joke on the company name Ames Oil and Steel. Go Cyclones. As always, I eagerly await author’s next romance. WR is always a champ at sex scenes and great HEA.

“Existing … together. In that space between two and three. She’s good to me, this woman.”

Left this one feeling disappointed and annoyed. I never felt any chemistry between Trey and Sophie - there was just no build up. Both Trey and Sophie seemed to have flipped a switch at some point regarding their feelings for each other, without much notice to the reader beforehand. I also felt like Sophie was way too much of a closed book - even to the reader. She just felt cold and aloof to me. There wasn’t much endearing about her. But I think the part of this book that bothered me the most was the inordinate amount of time spent flashing back to Sophie’s past with Nolan. So much time was sucked into this clearly toxic relationship that a) there was no time left for the reader to enjoy Sophie’s budding romance with Trey, and b) I couldn’t help but dwell on how pathetic young Sophie was. I know 18 is young, but I don’t know how someone could be such a delusional pushover. After spending such a huge chunk of the book witnessing Sophie’s perverse relationship with Nolan, I would have at the very least appreciated some intense, explosive revenge. But no. It was all tucked away without much fanfare, and to make matters worse, Sophie caved into his evil demands once again even though at that point she was dating the wealthiest man in the world (no exaggeration). I mean really - you’re not a martyr, you’re just ridiculous! So yeah that’s my rant sorry for any spoilers.

I've been waiting for this book ever since it was announced! I read the blurb, signed up and anxiously waited for it to hit my kindle!

Love Trey and Sophie! Love the supporting cast as well. Love how Sophie was written... she was humanly relatable.

I couldn't put the book down... I even put off cleaning the house just to finish this book. It was gripping and exciting... sweet, sexy and swoony!

Not sure why this book never showed up as read since I read an ARC of it before its release but found it sitting here just now, reviewed and all...SOOOOO, here it is again, almost 2 years later!!!

Finding solutions for problems and filing everything away in its proper box are what Trey Wescott lives for, very evident when has a trillion reasons to show for his efforts. He is an enigma- intelligent, gorgeous, one of the most powerful men in the world and now, for him, it's time for another of his life's plans to be arranged- a modern day marriage, hopefully with an heir and no messy complications in sight. He finds the perfect woman to be his wife- definitely intelligent, funny, beautiful aaaannd not even interested to hear more about this lucrative 'proposal! Trey is rejected, deflected and ingnored, which will not accepted, but what is the real story behind Sophie's adamate refusal? I was so curious to find out more about the elusive Sophie and why she seemed to be running as fast as her feet could carry her, away from Trey, who had more than a few curious layers himself. As snipets of her backstory were teased so brilliantly, right alongside his, the reality of right now, I could see why. I found myself hanging on every word, willing them both to just give in, let go and feel...no waiting, just right now... please! One thing that Sophie and Trey have in common- they've suffered great losses and burdens in their past, both fearing the power that love can bring when one of them was let down in the worst of ways and the other was left behind and alone. When the hidden pieces of Sophie's past come out and intersect with Trey's world, will trouble be right behind? Can the thing that Sophie fears most be the one that breaks her heart, again? I've read many of Winter Reshaw books over the years but this might be one of my favorites so far, so much to love about it. I really enjoy a great arranged marriage story and both Trey and Sophie were so likable, loveable and in need of a glorious HEA after all that life has thrown their path, I was happy to cheer for their success. I love when a 'plan' comes together, don't you?

I read an early copy of Trillion and this is my honest opinion of it.

This could have been really good, in fact Trey was awesome, but some of the implausible situations knocked it right down. A non-spoiler example, since it was noted in the beginning, is a character that married his first wife in his mid-forties, had been married for 10 years, and he already had a bestselling book on how to have a good marriage. Really? A man who married late in life, and for less than a decade? I just couldn't wrap my head around that.

The other two major holes came from situations or threats towards the end of the book, that a smart female like Sophie should not have believed. I found them eye-rollingly silly, and feel I'm being generous with 3 stars, but I did like the storyline.

I hate the line he'll have my body blah blah blah but my heart. And then goes on falling for the male romantic lead. I hate that trope with a passion. I liked Sophie's backstory. The novel had potential. And I really liked Sophie's mother and sister. Even Nolan was a well done character. Alas! both the central character's were disappointing, especially Trey who was exceptionally bland. Trey simply wasn't interesting enough for a romantic lead. The book would have been exciting if the mystery/revenge plot was the main plot and if the underwhelming romance was the subplot.

I liked almost everything about this book. The plot is familiar (rich guy needs fake girlfriend/wife for x accomplishment) but the writing and the characters were endearing. It was a fast, super fun read.

The element I didn't like was that once I reached about 60-70%, something was revealed in the flashbacks that was so significant that I stopped believing the heroine. I was completely into it up until that point, but the reveal made it so I didn't buy the heroine's present course of action. So I did my best to pretend like that reveal didn't exist...

This one was enjoyable but felt like it was missing something. I wanted more from the twist and it felt like insta everything which I'm not typically a fan of. The writing is fine and the story well thought out but the climax stalled and I needed more.

This was my first time reading this author

I don't know how I feel about this book. It's a good read yet some parts are so rushed. I don't think I connected with them and it had all the makings of an excellent read.
