One tech entrepreneur, one blond bombshell, and two rival dating sites.
When Dani Bennett lands a new marketing job, she can't wait to prove herself. But her excitement fizzles when her new boss insists she create an online dating profile to spy on the competition. Quitting isn't an option; she needs the money. Now, she must meet the charming guy who's been messaging her. Dani, however, has played this game before. She knows exactly what he's after—what they're all after. It's a good thing she has a foolproof plan to keep her date from being interested in her.
Bryce Delaney works hard to keep scammers from infiltrating his dating website. He'll do anything to keep his clients and his company safe, like asking a potential corporate spy to meet him for coffee. When the woman turns out to be more hobo than hottie, he's intrigued. She has no idea he founded the dating website, and he plans to keep it that way until he can uncover her agenda.
As one date leads to another, sparks fly. Dani knows a relationship built on lies will never work, but she's not the only one with a secret. Will the truth bring her and Bryce closer or send them back online to find someone else to love?
I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, two daughters, son, dog and too many cats! I write "sweeter" contemporary romance novels for Harlequin and Tule Publishing.
The Date is an enjoyable, well-written sweet romance. Dani is in a tough spot--she lost her good job and needs to help with her mother's medical expenses and her sister's college tuition, besides supporting herself-so she works at a job that she hates. Her loyalty to her family endeared this character to me. Bryce has that same loyalty to his sister, and I found him truly likable also. The plot has some twists and turns and moves along at a good pace. I absolutely loved the scene involving Gregg, her second online date. I bet you get a good laugh out of it too. There's an HEA for our couple, but it doesn't come easily as both of them carry baggage from their parents' mistakes. There's a short, but perfect epilogue for this story.

Dani finds herself in quite the predicament as despite the efforts she has made to convince her boss that she is a valuable employee she now finds herself forced into joining a matchmaking app in order to gain intel on their rival. She has taken the necessary step to ensure that her first date won’t want a second one, but she hadn’t counted on Bryce.
Bryce is the owner of the rival company who has concerns about Dani and her membership. He is determined to find out the truth, but he hadn’t expected the attraction he would feel for her or that one date may not be enough.
The chemistry and emotion between them is very real, however Dani is conflicted between what she wants to do and what she needs to do and with both of them not being completely honest things are about to become very complicated.
A sweet heartwarming romance between Dani and Bryce. Both working for competing dating sites but their profiles matched perfect. They are opposites from the go but can't deny their chemistry that they share. But when their secrets come out, will it hinder their HEA.
AS fun sweet quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Great characters, loved how Bryce would not give up on Dani. Loved the hints of Jane Austin and Cinderella. This is part of the Keeper series but all books are stand alone.
This one's a keeper. Laughter and romance take a backseat to a wonderful story. Dani and Bryce could be anyone. The heartache is real. The yearning is obvious and the humor flows endlessly into the heart. Sometimes simple and sweet can hit the spot in the most delightful of ways.
Dani and Bryce’s story in The Date is a fun, heartwarming, sweet romance by Melissa McClone, book five in her A Keeper series. Dani Bennett is happy to land a new marketing job but uncomfortable with the demands put upon her by her new boss; create an online dating profile in order to spy on a competing site. She can’t quit as she needs the money and her boss is now forcing her to meet this new guy who’s messaging her. Dani has played this dating game before, knowing exactly what he and the other guys are after. Hopefully her foolproof plan will work to keep her date from being truly interested in her. Bryce Delaney works hard to keep scammers from joining his dating website; he wants to keep his clients and company safe. When he learns that there is a possible corporate spy as a member, he decides to meet her for coffee. When she walks in looking more like a hobo than a hottie, he’s intrigued. Dani has no idea that he is the founder of the dating website, trying to figure out her motive. One date leads to another as Dani strips away her layers and starts to fall for Bryce. Dani knows better than to build a relationship on lies and is devastated when she learns Bryce also has secrets. As the sparks ignite and the chemistry starts to boil, these two need to figure out what is real and what is not, without keeping any additional secrets.
Ms. McClone wrote a wonderfully sweet and moving story that is not to be missed. This story contains sizzling chemistry, romantic dates, fun dialogue, the magic of love, and charming characters giving Dani and Bryce a chance at love, happiness, and future I highly recommend The Date to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

Dani used to love her profession, but her current job wasn't at all what she wanted. She took this job in desperation, she had her mother's medical insurance and sister's tuition to help with.
Her boss James, had her sign up on a competitor's dating site but so far she hadn't gone on a date. She did however make a couple of friends. Tired of all the subterfuge she confesses to her friends she's a spy on the sight. This sets off red flags and Bryce, the CEO of BlindDateBrides, immediately takes action. He sends a message to her under his seldom used profile 'Big Brother' with an interesting question.
Dani never had any intention of going out with any of the guys who messaged her, but with this one she actually replied instead of brushing him off. She happened to get another response when she checked the site at work and her boss heard her laughter.
Now he's upping the ante, go out with some of them or get fired.
With coffee arranged with Big Brother, and a dinner date with someone named GymGuy she resigns herself to some first dates.
Now coffee with Big Brother, aka Bryce, turned out to be fun and she found herself wanting to see more of him. First she had to deal with GymGuy.
In spite of the fact that he is investigating Dani's comment on his site, Bryce couldn't help being attracted to this funny, intelligent woman. He just has to figure out why she's on the site.
Plenty of romance, intrigue and some sizzle as this tale unfolds. Truly a delightful read.
This is an interesting story involving two characters with control issues. Dani wants to be completely independent and Bryce wants to control everything within his sphere. It’s too bad Dani had some major emotional baggage, things would have went a little smoother without it and perhaps she would have been more open to accepting help from others. Dani was forced to open an account on a competitors dating site so that she could gather information. She ends up dating Bryce who she assumes is just a user and not the owner of the website. When she comes clean to Bryce about why she is on the site, Bryce’s reaction was what was expected but you have to give Dani kudos for being completely honest. Thankfully they get past that bump in the road, but it was only a matter of time until they hit another one. You need to read “The Date” to see if Bryce and Dani really are compatible or not.

Would you compromise your ethics to keep your job? That's the line Dani had to cross so she can pay her bills and support her mother and sisters. Her sleazeball of a boss forces her to set up a fake dating profile on a competitor's site, go on dates to get information on the people who sign up for it, and then throws her over for it. Never mind that her marketing skills have brought him so many new clients. I so wanted to see him get his comeuppance at the end of the book. Bryce doesn't know Dani works for his rival and ex-boss, he just thinks her activity on his site is suspicious and decides to investigate by going out with her despite her funny profile picture. There were plenty of funny and romantic moments in this book. I was proud of Dani for standing up for herself although she took not accepting help a little too far at times. Reading about San Francisco, the cable cars and the Palace of Fine Arts makes me want to plan a trip there.
I really enjoyed this new book in the A Keeper series. It is definitely a keeper! This book is kind of an opposites attract except I do not think the algorithm at Blinddatebrides.com would support that. I really felt for Dani's character, how she supported her mom and one of her sisters financially and was working a job she disliked because she needed the money. I also liked how smart and independent she was. She did not need a guy to feel complete. Bryce was like Prince Charming to Dani. It was funny how circumstances threw them together but sparks and chemistry may have actually kept them together or not. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Another great addition to this series. This one was such a sweet and enjoyable read. I loved all the characters and the story line was really good. Dani and Bryce were both using the dating site for different reasons. Although they were matched together (in my opinion perfect for each other!) and honest about themselves they were both holding back a big secret. What happens when feelings become involved? What happens when secrets come out? Honestly you do not want to miss a moment of this book. Pick it up and give it read because you will for sure not be disappointed.

I loved this sweet and heartwarming romance with characters you want to know and a beautifully written story that captivated me immediately and kept me totally immersed in all that was happening and I wasn't ready for the book to end when I got to the last page. I am always excited to read a book by Ms. McClone and share it wholeheartedly with all of my family and friends. I loved the attraction and undeniable chemistry between tech entrepreneur Bryce Delaney and Dani Bennett, who is "spying" for a rival dating site. Don't miss "The Date", book five in the Keeper Series. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I’ve really been enjoying the Keeper Series, but unfortunately, I just couldn’t get invested in this couple. I enjoyed the premise of two people working for competing matchmaking sites and thought the plot was timely and intriguing, but I didn’t feel any sort of chemistry between the leads. Dani and Bryce were both sort of passive and their relationship just didn’t hold my interest. I’m sad, because although I love the author and have most if not all of her books in my library, The Date just left me flat.
My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy, which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily
Danica and Bryce have a similar background. Work backgrounds not personal. When Bryce finds out his online dating service is in the process of being hacked, he checks in to a suspicious member of the online site. When he sees an account that shows no dating of any of the contacts being made, he gets a little closer. Then he sees the words “I’m a spy.” That really makes him wonder. Dani has a computer background and is working hard at finding marketing strategies for enhancing another online dating service. But there are things that she doesn’t know about the owners of these two different companies.
I really did enjoy this story. It was a definitely a book about opposites being attracted to each other. One rich, one struggling financially. One being the owner and founder of a business, the other working at a job they hate because they need to pay their bills. But they are both very smart and have a strong sense of family. Bryce and Dani are both very stubborn, but Dani's desire for complete independence actually gets in the way a few times. Some added twists and turns and you have a very good story on your hands.

This was a unique and enjoyable read. Dani is in predicament when she is stuck in a job that she needs in order to support her mother and sister. She is really tested when her boss has her sign up for a completion dating site. Word gets out to the head founder Bryce and he sets up a date with Dani. Both have secrets but can’t deny the spark between them. Loved how they went through their issues. I really enjoyed the San Fran background as well. Sweet and enjoyable read.

It's an enjoyable read. A sweet & moving romance. This story is about online dating & the couple that had been matched. Both were looking for matches for other reasons. One is working for the competition. And the other trying to protect their company. Dani & Bryce, were a match for being compatible. They went on the date, knowing they weren't looking for a relationship. But their attraction was undeniable. Maybe fate has something else in mind for them.
Dani meets Bryce while using a dating site but she isn’t honest when she meets him, but also Bryce has his secrets. This isn’t a good foundation for a relationship so it has to go wrong at one point. But is there trust enough to work to a HEA. Great story with very lovable characters. Loved the Austen puns. The A Keeper series is really a great series.

Another cute story by Melissa McClone. While the characters were keeping secrets from each other, they were refreshingly honest about themselves with each other. The story was a cute premise. It was a quick read with a good happily ever after ending.

Wonderful story of love between two people that appear to be so different, but actually are not so different when it comes to giving their hearts. Both let the past affect their lives but come to understand the importance of trust and love. Shades of Cinderella and Jane Austen make this read very enjoyable.
Melissa brings two people together and lets them be as human as the rest of us.
Both make errors in judgement, thinking each is like their parents, one a controller and the other needing to be independent. Once both figure out they were wrong about each other they are alone.
Melissa McClone neer fails to amaze me with her writing skills. This is another of her great books in this series. The characters are fun and so likable. The plot is easy to read and is well written. Keep them coming, please.
Danica Bennett had a hard childhood being abandoned by her father and hit by poverty. She presently works for hookamate.com and cant afford to lose this job. So she does whatever her boss asks her to. She is made to spy on other dating sites and for this she has to join Blinddatebrides.com. She is not very interested in Men. But when she gets a paired with a Man named Bryce on the dating site, her boss forces her to go on a date with him so she can get some info on customer expectations of Blinddatebrides. What starts as a fake dating turns into something romantic later on. But Bryce isn't just any Man.....
#bookreview This is a super light and short romance read. A simple pure romance but has so much depth. Now although the story is simple it highlights some serious things. It shows how 2 people from completely different backgrounds can stay in love. And that how we should see past looks and status of a person. It was a engaging read but what i didn't like is sometimes the behaviour of Danica when she thinks she doesnt needs Bryce for handling her. Oh c'mon he was just concerned about you. Girl runs to her farm leaving the beautiful relationship just because her man stood up for her. Silly girl. Other than this the book is a good light read for those who love romance.
Dani had lost her good job and had to take one she didn’t really like. Her boss asked her to spy on a rival. She had to sign up for the rival’s dating site. He then tells her to date some of the men.
She agrees and Bryce is her date. Dani doesn’t know that he is the owner of the rival site. What will happen when she finds out? Read to find out!
Melissa writes the most wonderful books. She is a must read author!
Great book worth to reading again, online dating site connects the actor and actress, dating a millionaire is very popular these years, singles can find some tips at http://www.millionairedatingguide.com....
With some reticence, Dani Bennett signed up with blinddatebrides.com as a spy for the competition. She couldn’t afford to be unemployed at the moment, so she went along with her boss’ directives to infiltrate Bryce Delaney’s organization. Dani did her best to disguise her deception, discouraging any would-be dates from gaining interest in her. Her profile wasn’t very attractive and the displayed photograph hardly showed her best assets.
Never in her wildest dreams did Dani expect Bryce Delaney himself to contact her! If she refused to date him, might he realize what was going on? So, Dani went out with Bryce, fully expecting him to be just like all of the other men who’d ever shown any interest in her. They’d never seen past her physical attributes to the bright and delightful woman underneath, but Bryce was a different commodity altogether. Handsome and intelligent, Bryce seemed to value Dani for the person she was. He had an addictive appeal and Dani quickly found herself succumbing to his charm. How much longer could she continue to deceive the man with whom she was falling in love?
This contemporary romance has much to say about truth, honor, friendship and about how we may misjudge others by their appearance. The face, body and perhaps electronic profile that we display to the world may not necessarily showcase the individual inside. Those with the courage and clarity of vision to see the truth are, therefore, all the more precious.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Dani Bennett works for an internet dating company and her boss demands she spy on another dating app company and go on dates to report back to him. In talking with friends on the app, she states that she is a spy which is picked up by the app’s owner, Bryce Delaney, who then contacts her for a date to check if she is spying on his app. They hit it off, and she comes clean about what she has done and why which causes friction between them. A touching story about opposites attracting, trust, and working through problems.
Dream Date with the Millionaire is the final story in the Blinddatebrides.com trilogy.
I enjoyed following the twists and turns of this story. I loved the heroine, Dani, although I did wish that she'd quit her job of spying on the rival dating firm sooner. The hero, Bryce, was strong and gorgeous, and somebody who garnered respect.
Knowing Dani and Bryce's real identities, I felt for both of them as their relationship grew and I read with bated breath as the plot unfolded.
Overall, BlinddateBrides.com is a fun and enjoyable series.
Great sweet and fun read! Danni and Bryce learn honesty really does matter. They also learn even though they are from completely different backgrounds, they still have a lot in common. Love conquers all.
