Finding Bailey

Rate this book
An unknown past threatens her future…

After losing her mother, Bailey Morton faces cleaning out her family’s Lake Tahoe home. What she finds amongst the dust shatters the image of what she always considered an ordinary life with her ordinary family.
Her true identity unknown, Bailey plows headlong into a dangerous journey of deception and death to find the real reason behind her abandonment, and why her parents kept her adoption a secret.
When Bailey’s boyfriend refuses to help, she turns to her best friend, Ryan, for support. As the pair digs into her past, the bond between them deepens to an unexpected level. For Bailey, facing long-buried family skeletons is easy compared to coming to terms with her feelings for Ryan.
As Ryan and Bailey grow closer to discovering her family’s darkest secret, they realize somebody will stop at nothing to keep the secret buried…even if that means burying her.

A new to me author with an action filled romantic suspense set in beautiful Lake Tahoe. Best friends become lovers when he steps in to help solve the mystery. Someone wants a family's darkest secret kept that way -- even if it means burying our heroine, Bailey.

I really enjoyed this well done story line, and the characters were likable and easy to support.

I just finished Finding Bailey and WOW, this was another wonderful romantic suspense by Dana Mason! When you first meet Bailey she's grieving her mother's death and wondering what she's going to do now that she's alone in the world. She's not alone, though. She has her best friends Ryan, Mae, Lucas, and Wade at El Lago, the bar and restaurant in Lake Taho that Ryan, Lucas, and Wade own. She also has her mostly off-again boyfriend Dex who shows up when it's convenient for him, but never for Bailey.

Bailey and Ryan start cleaning out her mother's house and Bailey discovers the secret her mother has been keeping from her for her whole life. Bailey was adopted. Wanting to find her family, Bailey and Ryan set for Wisconsin where they lived when Bailey was born. That's when the accidents start happening. It's clear that someone doesn't want Bailey to find out who she really is and they're willing to stop at nothing to make sure of it.

It is always hard to review a Dana Mason book because the suspense line is written with such precision I could give something away without intending to. I will say that Ms. Mason keeps the suspense and drama going until the very end and you will not be bored while puzzling this one out!

The chemistry between Ryan and Bailey is immediate and obvious from the opening page. The only one who didn't see Ryan's love for her was Bailey, but then she was pretty caught up in her rude boyfriend, Dex. Bailey convinced herself she could make it work with Dex, but she wasn't really in love with him, she was just struggling with being alone after her mother's death. She wouldn't know until she dropped his dead weight what the truth was. She was in love with Ryan.

The romance between Ryan and Bailey is superbly done for a best friend to lovers trope, and I loved how she brought Ryan's love of music into their romance. You know without a doubt that Ryan is going to protect Bailey not just from the bad guys, but from the pain of learning who she really is and the fallout from that. He loves her regardless of her name or who her parents are. I would LOVE to see this turned into a series so we can see who Lucas, Mae, and Wade end up with! You won't want to miss this new and exciting romantic suspense by Ms. Mason!

Bailey is mourning the death of her parents, she is working hard at trying to not let their deaths overwhelm them. Ryan is her best friend and well he loves her but can't get out of the friend zone for now . Until the day she finds out that she was adopted but she could be a missing child that was lost when she was a baby . When things go from bad to worse the man she was dating is hiding a secret and she breaks up with him . Until the day that she is kidnapped and her life is ripped apart . Will Ryan and the gang find her before she is gone for good and will she be able to come to terms with her new life and the love that is standing right in front of her .
This is a story that has some really good characters . Bailey is a young woman who has a lot going for her . She has great friends and a good job and she had a great childhood . When she finds out that she was adopted she shows that she is up for whatever is going on to find out the truth. She is a little bombshell , she may act like she needs help but she is stronger then you know and will blow you away when things get tough. Ryan is the sweetest guy and he is there for Bailey for what every she needs and when push comes to shove he will move the world to find her and keep her safe . Along with her friends they have a great family unit and they would do anything for any of them . These characters are well written and you will love them .
This is one of those stories that has so much going on . There are friends to lovers , mystery and a striking family story. The author takes us on an a wild ride full of self doubt and love that defies the troubles of the main characters past . i found that I wanted to know what happened through out the book and was on the edge of my seat most of the time . There was one thing I felt like it could of been two books the part where Bailey was abducted and found then the story of her meeting her family and the emotions of what both those things did to her .I kind of felt it was just a little rushed . Over all I did enjoy this book and want to read more from this author . So here is another book for your summer reading list.

Excited to have read the start of a new series from Dana Mason’s wonderful romantic suspense novels with “Finding Bailey.” I loved her Embrace and Accidental Series and this book was worth the wait.

Bailey is cleaning out her family home after the death of her mother and stumbles upon a deep dark secret that her mother kept from her: she was adopted. Bailey struggles with her identity as she tries to figure out why she was never told, who her real parents are, and why she was given up.

With the help of her childhood friend Ryan, his two roommates and business partners Wade and Lucas, her friend and business partner Mae, and her unreliable boyfriend Dex, she starts a journey to find her real parents.

Soon accidents start to happen and she realizes someone doesn’t want her to be on this quest. Ryan’s friendship turns into something more and Dex becomes more unreliable. Her anxiety increases along with her desire to find answers and stability with her relationships.

I loved the chemistry between Bailey and Ryan, the commitment of her friends, and the gorgeous setting of Lake Tahoe. Dana weaves romance and suspense superbly and keeps us on our toes till the very end.

After reading Dana Mason’s Embrace series years ago, I’ve been waiting for her to write another romantic suspense book. She did not disappoint with Finding Bailey! Finding Bailey begins with Bailey cleaning out her mother’s house shortly after her death. What she finds out shocks her and shakes her foundation. She begins to question everything about her parents and the life she had with them. With the help of her best friend Ryan, Bailey heads to Wisconsin to find the answers she desperately wants. Once they start looking, the accidents begin and Ryan and Bailey begin to figure out their relationship. I loved the action and suspense and watching Bailey and Ryan go from best friends to lovers. I’m hoping that this is the start of a new romantic suspense series! I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review!

4 stars for Finding Bailey. Haven't we all felt that we didn't belong at some time in our lives? Bailey never felt that until after the death of her parents when she found out that not only was she adopted, she had been abandoned in the snow as a baby. Thank goodness for her best friend Ryan who is there for her whatever she needs. The story unfolds with several twists and turns and betrayals. Would love more stories of Bailey and Ryan's friends because we all need friends like these.

Great storytelling and there is some story!!

This book was almost too emotional. You get through one problem and another pops up. Cruel, yes but absolutely absorbing! Bailey was indeed found, but suffered dearly. This is definitely a 2 hankie story, but trust me, worth every tear! Dana Mason - this was a winner!!

Finding Bailey: A Lake Tahoe Romance Suspense Novel

This has Definately got to be one of the best books that I've read in a long time. It was a beautiful story that just pulled me in from page one to the very last page. Bailey felt as though her world was collapsing around when her mother passed away. She was the best mom that a girl could ever hope for , at least that's what she thought until she went through her chest that always set in her mom's room. There she found things there that totally rocked the foundation of all her belief's of what her life was, and even who she was. Now she just had to find out who wanted her dead, and why! Great, great read!!👍👍👍

Not your typical romance

Yes, there is light sex scenes. Starting out as friends makes for a deep love, throw in some crazy family members and dirt bags and you can't miss on a good read!!!

Suspenseful

After Bailey's mother passes away, she is going through her house and comes upon her cedar chest. The chest has baby books she's never seen before. One is her birth certificate and she finds out she was adopted. She decides to find her real parents but her boyfriend doesn't think it's a good idea. Her best friend Ryan will do anything for her. Ryan owns a bar with his two best friends and sings and writes songs. He has been in live with Bailey for a while now but she has a boyfriend and he doesn't know how to tell her. When she dumps her boyfriend, Ryan still can't tell her how he feels. Someone doesn't want Bailey to find out who she really is. There's been breakins, being run off the road, and kidnapped. She is in for the shock of a lifetime but will it be worth it?
Good story. Action. Romantic. Secrets. Bailey just wants to know where she came from and Ryan just wants her.

This was such an AMAZING book!
Once Bailey started her journey to discovering who she was, I couldn't put the book down.

Cleaning out her mother's house after losing her, Bailey expected to feel pain. But Bailey never expected to feel that pain come in the form of betrayal. Learning she was adopted was one thing, but finding letters about some big family secret between her mother and uncle set Bailey off on trying to discover just who she is.
But there's more to this secret than Bailey realizes. There's someone who is willing to hurt, if not kill Bailey to keep her from finding out more about herself.

Lots of mystery and suspense with a little sprinkle of romance added in, and this was the perfect book for me!

This has all the elements of a great story, action, intrigue, drama and romance. A fantastic story about Bailey who has lost her parents recently finds she is adopted after being found under a bush, the truth is much worse. While she is searching for answers her so-called boyfriend Dex is offering her no support but her oldest friend, Ryan is. The night she dumps Dex her best friend Ryan, takes her on a boat ride and they let their true feelings show. But that is only the start of their problems.

I do love a good romance especially when it has a little suspense in the story. I really loved Ryan and Bailey. Very likable characters you root for. Good supporting characters from the town but seriously her bf Dex leads a lot to be desired. Bailey is a wee bit dense when it comes to how her best friend feels about her. She has other things on her plate though so that's forgivable. Ha. Enjoyed it.

This was a new-to-me author. I enjoyed the suspense side and Bailey trying to uncover what happened to her as baby. You can’t help rooting for the end-game romance, sometimes, the behavior of the characters will drive you crazy. I felt like the book could have been condensed down some, but it’s still a wonderful read. I would consider reading other books by this author.

Bailey's mom has passed and while cleaning her house, she discovers a secret. She's adopted. When she asks her boyfriend for help, he doesn't but her friend Ryan does. Their bond grows while digging, but someone doesn't want answers found. They'll do anything, even killing her.

Not sure if I like this story or not

Lots of suspense.
TMI on the sex parts. Unnecessary details. Also too much promiscuity. Until someone drugs her with a dirty needle, she doesn't worry about disease, so thiw is more of the unr w alistic crap in the media and books that brishes aside STDs, & Heo C & HIV are primarily STDs. There are always consequences to promiscuity. When you sleep with someone, you sleep with everyone else with whom they've slept as well. Any RN can tepp you that, but apparently, sex ed doesn't bother teaching that, despite the number of free clinics that can test and treat for STDs.
Too much sexual tension.
If there was a letter to the main character from her recently-passed-away mother, it should've been easy to find.
No way could she afford that much tome off a business venture, nor could a bar give away free booze to co-owners and their love (lust) interests...they'd lose too much.
To me, large parts of this were far fetched but others were normal.
Ot just may be the fact too much sex stuff always detracts from a story line. There is such a thing as being realistic...the bartender would definitely have caught-and likely passed on to someone else-some sort of STD with all his philandering. If the maon character was so into jer simmer fling, despite the way je treated her, I know it takes too long to get over something like that and that finding someone else to fornicate with right away, that rebound relationship would fail utterly and bury the friendship with it.
The dynamics with her bio family seemed the best written part of the book, alongside the difficulties of discovering the truth of what the parents she had growing up had actually done.
Not my kind of read. I feel like I wasted a lot of time.

Wow! I'm almost at a loss for words as I sit down to write this review. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Finding Bailey and it was the first Dana Mason book I've read. She did NOT disappoint!
First off, Bailey and Ryan...OMG, so cute! I love them together. It was apparent early on how Ryan felt about Bailey and I loved "watching" their story develop.

The comrade between all of the characters - Bailey, Ryan, Lucas, Wade, Mae - was so well developed. They truly felt like a strong group of friends and while each character was so different, they all just fit together. I would love to see a series built from this novel to read more about each of these amazing characters!

I had started reading yesterday morning and was immersed in this story right off the bat; it has such an easy flow to it and each time you finish a chapter you think, "okay, one more!"

...and then I reached the middle of the book...and COULD.NOT.STOP. Boy, 2 a.m. sure came fast! I just had to finish the roller coaster ride I had unknowingly stepped onto!

Such a great read and I can't wait to grab more of Dana Mason's stories!
