Scarecrows and Corpses: A Meadowood Mystery

Rate this book
Small town Meadowood tackles big city problems when a group of cub scouts and their leaders encounter dangerous felons. Meredith Gardner is a busy homemaker who volunteers her time on food drives, as Scout den mother, Avon saleswoman, and as a classroom assistant at the local elementary school. She’s got a curious mind and instinct for what’s happening in her beloved community. What will happen when Merry (Meredith) and her scout troop find a body in a local Halloween corn maze? Who did the dastardly deed? Someone in town is not whom they pretend to be. When a friend is accused of murder, Merry is determined to prove him innocent and find the true killer. Murder and mayhem confront Merry as she protects her own son's life and outwits a diabolical killer on the spookiest night of the year. Follow Meredith along with her pet cat, Mittens, as she enlists her girlfriends to help solve this cozy mystery amongst the Halloween goblins roaming about their rural, mid-western town of Meadowood.

Nancy created characters that you can relate to. I loved the references she made to things relating to the state of Ohio and it's citizens. A very "real life" story line too. Her background into her characters helps you to wonder "who really did it" . Enjoyed both the books in her Meadowwood Mystery series

Fun Halloween Read.

Charming read for the autumn season. Easy reading, went by fast. Straightforward mystery in a small town will evoke memories of Halloweens of our childhoods. Very nostalgic as it brought me back in time. Mission accomplished, Nancy M. wade.

Scarecrows and Corpses: A Meadowood Mystery is a great cozy mystery. This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters are well depicted, likable, and relatable. The story is well written and engaged my interest from start to finish, with murder, mystery, friendship, and suspense. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
