What a story! This must have its basis in a true event or events. Its wide scope entails so much and is so realistic, it seems like an expanded newspaper article. What a great story! I highly recommend it. I was fortunate enough to get an ARC edition! I am glad I had that privilege!!!!
This is a good story. Patricia is just going to have her hair done and finds her hairdresser dead. He has also been a friend for many years and Patricia knows that she will not rest until she finds the killer. What she uncovers is an international problem. Parts of the US are being infiltrated by people from another country. It seems their plan is to infiltrate the city governments and Patricia and her team have to gather the evidence to give to various agencies before it's too late. Can they do it and stay alive?
Well, there's nothing like starting a new series with the latest offering instead of at the beginning. Luckily, even though there are a few references to things that occurred previously, it didn't interfere with my enjoyment of this story at all. I must admit to being concerned that Mr. Chaput was going to irritate me and end this book with a cliffhanger because I couldn't see how he was going to wrap it all up it time' but he did it and did it so well that I didn't feel the ending was the least bit rushed, The characters here are multi-dimensional, fully-developed, and wholly realistic. The narration and dialogue move smoothly without any choppiness or stilted language. The story grabbed my attention from the first page until the last and left me wanting more. I look forward to the next book in the series and in the meantime will be checking out the previous ones. I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion.
Patricia Falcon is on her way to get her hair done at “Salon Li” in the Savannah Hyatt Hotel. She would be her hairdresser friend Ken Li’s only client tonight, so the empty lobby area didn’t alarm her. But this time, she came to an abrupt stop, staring at Ken Li, unmoving in the salon chair with a knife plunged deep in his chest! She will not stop investigating until she finds Ken’s murderer! She had no idea what her search would lead her to! Will Patricia and her team be able to provide the evidence to compel the FBI to act on what she finds? If not, they will lose not only Savannah but the rest of the country as well! And their lives are in great danger!
Fantastic ARC read! It held my interest throughout the book. The pace was evenly paced and the characters were exciting and well captured. I didn't read the first books of the series but this book 4 read well as a stand alone. I loved the setting in Savannah, Georgia as I am from Louisiana and love reading books set in the south. There is nothing I would add to this book as it was a great story from beginning to end. I will definitely go back and read book 1of the series about the protagonist Patricia Falcon, armature investigator.

Trying to solve a murder can be deadly apparently. After discovering her friend and hairdresser dead amateur detective Patricia is determined to solve the murder. Really doesn't matter who asks her not to keep going - she feels she has to or someone else may end up dead. She pulls in some other friends to help solve it and to help keep her alive. Lots of intrigue and international mystery. Patricia even managed to get some interagency cooperation happening when everyone realized how big the stakes really are. If you like mystery you'll love this.
Savannah Dragon is the fourth installment of the vigilante for justice series written by Alan Chaput. Its broad definition enables so much and is so relevant , it seems like an experiment needed articulated story. What a great story! I highly recommend it. It held my interest throughout the book. It was paced evenly and the characters were engaging and well balanced. I didn't read the first three books of the series but this book four read very well as a stand alone.

This was an intriguing mystery. It seemed slightly darker than the cosy variety, and had a mysterious air about it that I liked, which had me gripped once I started reading. I did like the characters too. If there are more books featuring Patricia as a protagonist, I would probably be interested in them.
Thank you to Booksprout and the author for a free copy to review.

This was another stay up all night reading sort of book. It was a familiar cast of characters, but this one took me to the China of today, and their plausible actions of murder and political mayhem. I would certainly recommend this as another in the series worth reading as you wait for the next volume.
What would you do if you discovered a crisis with a depth that was almost unheard of? Investigate it? that is what Patricia does when she discovers her hairdresser of years dead.
This is a story that keeps you on the edge while reading it and leaves you completely satisfied at the end.
Wow, glad I took a punt at reading this. So realistic and complex storytelling. Amateur sleuth investigates murder of Hairdresser…. Well written , characterisation superb and described well. I read a free copy and my review is my own words voluntary
What a story, full of action and suspense. Patricia has a favourite hairdresser but finding him dead is not what she would choose. How will she solve this case without losing any others. Don’t miss out.
Another great book by a great author, Alan Chaput! I have read several books by this author, and I have never been disappointed. This was full of plot twists and international intrigue that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. You will not be disappointed!
Such a good read! I loved the fact that this read had significant ties to recent events that have occurred. However, to my surprise and upon further investigation, I was realized that this was the fourth installment of this series. I am definitely open to reading the rest of the series.
There's a lot more at stake that just the murder of a Chinese hairdresser. Could the Country itself be under threat?
An enjoyable thriller with some nicely defined main characters. Plenty of action. The availability of too many experts limits the amount of investigation done by the main sleuth and the main perpetrators are a little 2 dimensional but overall it was a good read
This is the first book that I have read by this author, but I am now going to go back and read the rest of this series as I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It had me gripped from the first chapter until the shocking end. The characters are great and are well written. The plot is shocking and also believable 😯 I'd definitely recommend this book 📖
Savannah Dragon is a fire starter. Our amateur sleuth is in trouble from the beginning, getting involved in a Chinese family's troubles. The vigilante rises again to find the murderer or those responsible for the death of a prominent business owner. Alan Chaput keeps us on our toes with anticipation. But we groan as our heroine just cannot stop getting involved, seeking justice. Her husband cannot keep this feisty gal out of trouble. Get your Agatha Christie mystery fix, but be sure to take a break for this fun book. Got tea? How about a cup of oolong and pecan pie, just the delicious treat combo break for this tasty book? Thanks, Alan, for another fine Southern hospitality treat.
