Over-attached to technology and cosseted in our homes, the Western world has never been so disconnected from nature.
Rewild Your Life is here to help you tune up your innate connection to the great outdoors. Through 52 seasonal indoor and outdoor projects, adventure writer and wild swimming enthusiast Sarah Stirling shows you how connecting more deeply with the natural world is key to keeping the environment alive, while simultaneously bringing the joy and wonder back into every day.
Projects range from spoon carving to foraging in the hedgerows, making and mending to natural navigation and growing vegetables. You can follow these projects week by week for a year, or flick through the book to find ideas you'd like to try – many are achievable all year round.
Whether you're an outdoor expert or a novice, eight years old or eighty, there's plenty in here for you.
This book had a lot of really neat and awesome ways to reconnect with nature. It also had ways to reconnect with nature in the four different seasons, which I really liked.
I thought the story of how the author, Sarah, came about on writing this book and just the stories she was telling about and the way she was connecting with nature in her life was really enjoyable to read about!
I can't wait to start reconnecting with nature and just slowly adding some of these things to my everyday life and hopefully adding it to my families life as well.
The illustrations were stunning and really beautiful. Some were more simple then others but they all had that beauty to them.
For some reason I felt good reading this book, it gave out good vibes and I just love everything about this book. Even the cover!
This book by Sarah Stirling is definitely one of my new favorite nature based books. “Rewild your life” is amazing at putting into words the thoughts I have about longing to get into nature to experience, test, and try new things from the environment. I literally want to try every single thing the book provided and strive to make my life more conscious in specific efforts of “rewilding” my own life. Not only is the layout, wordings, and storytelling in the book incredible, but the illustrations by hellogrimes are so stunning and create such a great vision and visual learning aid. I loved feeling in my own world, like being in a cabin in the mountains as Sarah often has these experiences, as I picked up this book each time. Definitely one of my books I will refer back to from time to time to incorporate into my life and actions. I love it all!
Tore pisike raamatuke, mille täitsa juhuslikult raamatukogu riiulilt avastasin.
This book is lovely. The illustrations are beautiful and the content is just fabulous The perfect adult “hobby” book to inspire yourself to put down the phone / TV, get outside (a few indoor project too) and do something. This book reminded me of the beauty all around us, whether you are in the place you want to be or perhaps stuck somewhere else due to Covid; this book makes you appreciate the beauty to be found anywhere
What a lovely book. Beautifully written and illustrated, it’s not only 52 inspiring ideas of things to do to reconnect with the natural world, but also a philosophy of living gently on the planet. I loved it.
3.5 stars. Lovely little book with some great ideas that I'm definitely going to use to bring the wild in closer to me. Wish it went a little deeper. Really loved the illustrations too, they were gorgeous.
A delightful book of fun and beautifully illustrated. Refreshing to find a book like this that encompasses everything and everyone with ideas that are accessible to all; any age, any budget. My new favourite gift to give!
Absolutely loved reading this book, so many useful and imaginative ways to feel close to nature. The illustrations are beautiful too. Thoroughly enjoyed it! :)
What a fun book! Divided into the four seasons of the year, this book introduces you to ways to reconnect to nature. For example:in the Spring begin to garden, make a wildflower salad, cycle, walk in the fresh clear air. In summer enjoy campfire cooking, swimming and hiking, animal tracking and nature journaling. Autumn leads you to star gazing, making wild shampoo (!), make a bird feeder for the cold days ahead, do some outdoor volunteering. Winter leans to weather forecasting, making compost, watching clouds, roasting chestnuts. Easy and fun yo read, each season offers something you may enjoy to welcome the changes and learn a new skill or interest.
I picked this up for a reading challenge, drawn to the cover. It’s a gentle read, with lots of ideas for ways to get back in touch with nature. Probably more easy to do if you live in a rural area anyway, the ideas included are nonetheless quite simple and accessible. The illustrations are lovely and I enjoyed the layout of the book. The diary entries for each season were also very good. A nice way to spend a few hours.
Absolutely LOVED this book! So many lovely little narratives that made me feel like I was out experiencing what the author was. I loved all of the little projects and hobbies she shared, and I’m already trying to figure out how to add them into my own life. They’re practical, fun, and enriching ways to “rewild” your life! The illustrations were gorgeous too. Obsessed over this book.
Really lovely book, broken down into the different seasons; some of the activities I already do but there's lots I want to try! Everyone should read this book! The illustrations are beautiful too.
4.5/5 this book is like stardew valley come to life! Really wanted to live in a cottage in the middle of nowhere even more reading this, and the illustrations were beautiful! I learned a lot and will keep this handy for the future!
The bright, colored pictures are gorgeous and was complimented by my many co-workers. These suggestions and tips work around the Wales and New Zealand natures areas. Most of the suggestions I am unable to do, or are not feasible where I am. I was hoping and expecting some inspirational ideas and was not attached or inspired by any of the suggestions, but I hope someone will find this book inspirational.
