This is exactly what the world needs right now. This book is full of gems and while I’ve looked at much of it, I love spending time with these mantras, practices, intentions, affirmations daily. The information is provided in a way that is fun but impactful. Despite being a certified intuitive eating counselor, this book helps to guide me in my own self-care routine and has motivated me in my work with others.
This is a must have! No matter your place on your intuitive eating journey.

This book is everything I hoped it would be! As a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I'm always looking for ways to support my clients in taking steps to learn not only how to eat intuitively, but also support them in stepping out of Diet Culture. While the foundational Intuitive Eating book (4th edition) is incredible, it's intimidating for some people since it's a big text. This book breaks down all of the principles into bite-sized pieces and practical, actionable steps that will support your goal of food freedom and body respect in a truly sustainable, integrated way. This book is a must if you want to cultivate self-trust, compassion, body appreciation, and a healthier relationship with not only food, but your whole self!

Not my fave of the Intuitive Eating collection. While I consider the original book truly life-changing, and the workbook was super helpful, the structure of this one just wasn't for me. As much as I want to be the person that references a page-a-day book, I'm just not.

I’m really supportive of intuitive eating and the mental and physical relief it can give people. This book won’t give you a solid background on it, but it’ll give you some practical ways to work through the transition.

What a wonderful - and totally practical - resource! I love how the book includes really realistic exercises and thought provoking questions to help someone deepen their curiousity, inquiry and practice of Intuitive Eating. As a stand alone or in partnership with the Intuitive Eating Book and Workbook this is another go-to tool I'll be using both personally and professionally. If you're just getting started with Intuitive Eating and feel overwhelmed by the idea of reading the book or completing the workbook I also think this would be a beautiful way to lean into the practice of Intuitive Eating. If you're already practicing Intuitive Eating - this is a wonderful tool to stay in the practice and sharpen your skillset and deepen your connection. Bravo Evelyn, you did it again!

The format of this book is very easy to understand and put into practice one day at a time. It’s filled with so much insight and practical ways to incorporate IE into your life. There are mantras, questions, journaling ideas and so many helpful ways to grow your intuitive eating skills daily. As a dietitian who specializes in intuitive eating, I am so delighted that this book is available and highly recommend this book!

This book is a great addition to the Intuitive Eating book family - a companion in your journey of healing your relationship with food. Like a kind, compassionate, and caring friend, this book will be there for you to guide you in navigating the intuitive eating nuances as well as to pick you up and give you comfort and reassurance when you have a "bad body image day" or when your internalized "food police" voice is activated. It's a great resource to support you in the process of making peace with food and your body. Highly recommended!

was looking for specific, actionable eating guidelines which the books nor a dietician can give. skimmed the middle and a lot more fluff than the actual book and workbook. still no one can answer:
is it intuitive to honor fullness (body cues) and skip a meal, or is it intuitive (rational thought) to eat anyways because your brain & body need energy? which to honor? and what if intuitively my body craves ice cream but i know that won’t sustain me and should eat a proper meal instead… but then eating both leaves me overly full? what to do then? “try it and see there’s no failure only learning” um yeah if i feel indigestion or bloat that feels pretty failed to me. oh, or what if I know i need to eat xyz for calories and nutrition, but then i bloat or feel too full (from a normal amount of food)? if i ate intuitively i’d either only eat a third of all my meals then wak away, and it’s a waste of food and money; or, i’d likely eat in extremes of either too much or too little. idk, i think some takeaways of IE will stick with me but ultimately I think it overall just doesn’t work for some (me) and structure, predictably, and limited food choices actually enable me to feel well, satisfied, and not worrying about food 24/7. it works for me.
oh - and telling me to do a practice of hugging myself when I just need to know specific balanced snack ideas or real life examples of how “normal” people eat, grocery shop, structure their days it’s unhelpful. like, “here is Suzie. Suzie prefers to eat 3 meals a day spaced out because Suzie has digestive distress otherwise. Suzie also eats a miniml palate because of her medical conditions and preferences. Suzie is dating Beau and Beau has an iron stomach and eats much more and more frequently. Beau enjoys a wider variety of food than Suzie, although they share some overlap. Here is an example of a grocery list, how they shop on daily/weekly/monthly basis, meal plan, enjoy meals together. Oh, and also how Suzie and Beau plan food for their children! Suziette and Beau Jr.” and I already know what my dietician would say - “try it and see! you know your body” bro if i grew up eating 2 bowls of Trix cereal, a pb&j and cookies for lunch, pizza for dinner, and a nightly bowl of ice cream, what makes you think I intuitively know how to grocery shop and meal plan as an adult??? “buy all your favorites and always have options” brother now I am spending 4x on groceries as a 20-something who has other financial goals AND food is constantly going bad. nonsensical. i’m going to let the store store my food items, buy as i need, and keep a few usual daily foods ready to go. /fin

3.5 stars for me! Sadly I wasn’t able to read this a page a day as intended since I checked it out from the library, I think it would have been more impactful had I followed the structure.

I think this book at a lot of good advice in it, but perhaps not 100% as universally applicable as the book claims (ex: never portion food again, no attempts at weight loss are healthy due to giving into diet culture).

But at the same time, there was a lot of great material about examining your relationship with food, your body, and diet culture. I particularly enjoyed the sections on how to recognize and actively not participate in every day diet culture around you.

I also thought it was odd the author took time to note how wellness/lifestyle transformations are never effective when this book arguably fits into the category.

All in all, I will take away some helpful lessons from this book, even if I think it overgeneralizes the applicability of these strategies.

I have followed this author’s work since finding recovery from eating disorders in 2018 through her previous book, Intuitive Eating. This new book is not just a repackaged form of the original book, but contains new suggestions, tools, inspiration, and practices. I think this is an excellent tool for anyone exploring their relationship with food and bodies and diet culture for the first time (though I still recommend reading the first book prior to or simultaneous with this book), or someone like me who has practiced intuitive eating for a handful of years. I appreciate how it is organized by the 10 principles, and as a tactile person I love the shape and feel of the book.

Tl;dr: 10/10 recommend, don’t wait on this one if you are exploring breaking up with diet culture or already in recovery and like to remain inspired.

Intuitive Eating for Every Day is a collection of practical daily reflections designed to help folks navigate their Intuitive Eating journey. What I love most about this book is that it's actually 'do-able' - in other words, it's not something that you're going to buy, get overwhelmed with, and stop reading because it's too cumbersome. The passages are relatable, realistic, and relevant for anyone who is interested in disassociating themselves from the frustrating yo-yo dieting cycle and reclaiming their lives from diet culture.

Intuitive Eating For Every Day is a must for anyway who is trying to exit diet culture. The book is a wonderful companion to Intuitive Eating and the Intuitive Eating Workbook, both co-written by the author. This book gives you weekly intentions to strengthen the Ten Principles of Intuitive Eating. It also provides daily affirmations and practices to help you incorporate Intuitive Eating into a daily practice. This is a must for anyone who's tired of dieting and who wants to cultivate a healthy relationship with food!

Another home run by Evelyn Tribole! This is an excellent companion book to the Intuitive Eating (IE) book and workbook. If you are learning about IE on your own, this book is great daily support to help you shift away from diet culture. The daily reminders will have you checking in with yourself, creating intentions, and supporting you on the path to learning how to listen, trust and respect your body. IE is a life-changing practice that will, with time, have you feeling happy, healthy, and confident at any size. This book will help ground you daily as you become the expert on yourself.

Intuitive Eating for Every Day is an amazing resource for both those starting and those already practicing Intuitive Eating. I especially love the "Embodied Affirmations" and the "Intuitive Eating Mantras". The daily thoughts and practices allow the reader to integrate the Intuitive Eating Principles into their lives at a pace that is comfortable for them. I will be recommending this book to all my clients!

It's sometimes hard to put the concepts of Intuitive Eating into words or concrete intentions. What this book does is focus the attention on one piece at a time, grounding the person into the practice in small bits. I also love that it offers concrete tools and exercises which are so handy when practicing with conceptual frameworks like intuitive eating. A supportive companion to translating the theory into practice.

I first read the book Intuitive Eating back in 2011, and proceeded to read the two editions that followed. What I've found is that re-learning to eat intuitively is a practice, and although it eventually feels more natural to do, it can still be a challenge to ignore diet culture's relentless pull.
"Intuitive Eating for Every Day" is a precious tool to have that serves as a compassionate daily reminder to nourish and love yourself and stay on your intuitive eating path.

I am practicing intuitive eating again but I appreciate that this book encourages you to practice self-compassion, calling out diet culture, and appreciating your body for what it is and what it could be without encouraging disordered eating. I, myself, have experienced eight years of disordered eating and reading this book encouraged me to continue the mindset that food is food and not to put labels on food whether it's considered healthy or not.

Im debating with myself between 3 and 4 stars. I have three and changed to 4. The book is good. Has many good points and exercises. But I missed some boundaries and limits. It felt like you can eat whatever you want when you want how you want. As long as you feel like eating it and it makes you feel good. What if eating only candy makes me feel good? I also don’t agree that body weight has no impact on health…

A great resource for anyone on an intuitive eating journey. Literally 365 little daily tips or thoughts or exercises or mantras that support intuitive eating, paced out into sections to match the core concepts of IE. I’m going to keep this one around to go back for a snackable (pun intended) bit of perspective as needed.

If you are committed to working on your relationship with food every day and doing the hard work of thinking, reflecting and changing your behavior, this book will be supportive. If you yet need convincing or need to understand the basic principles first, I would refer you to the author's Intuitive Eating : a revolutionary anti-diet approach book.

We read out an entry at the table during our evening meal most nights. Some of the suggestions are insightful and thought provoking. Some not so much. Overall a useful, practical book to re-enforce intuitive eating practice.
