FOR THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE, AND END ALL LIE IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. Kaito Sena has come a long way. The boy who died broken and alone has donned the mantle of the Mad King and will dedicate every ounce of his newfound might to one saving the woman he admires. To this end, he has done the impossible and united humans, demi-humans, and beastfolk under one banner. For Elisabeth Le Fanu, Kaito would stand against God, Diablo, and all of creation. Unfortunately, the cost of her salvation may be greater still...
I admire the consistency of this series. So far, not a single volume has been any less good. The story has been progressing at an impressive pace.
Volume 6 brings an arc to a close, probably Kaito’s journey arc. I feel that the previous volumes had a more reflective side, focusing on Kaito’s feelings toward the world where he was reborn. This sixth volume explores more how humanity behaves: its faith, its judgments, and how easily people switch sides when it is more convenient.
