to soar free of inhibition. a collection of poetry that skims the surface of fathomless emotion, leaving waves across the placid sea. m ennenbach plumbs these ripples in search of connection. sometimes the only answer is to tear down everything and examine it in its basest form. (un)fettered.
I bought this book some months back. I was purchasing some books from another author and grabbed this. I can honestly say I have never said wow so much in a book. I have also never seen such vulnerability before me. This book of poems has stained me in the best way. You definitely don’t need to be a poetry fan to appreciate this book. But you do definitely need to be uttering the name Ennenbach ! Highly recommend this to Everyone!
We all do it. Read a book and then love it so much we search out and read everything the author has ever written, just shy of digging through their trash for grocery lists.
Well, I'm right in the middle of one those episodes and now I'm sad because there aren't hundreds more just waiting for me to go through.
This was beyond fantastic. Very heady and almost dreamlike in the way he chooses his words. Every emotion was felt. I cried, I laughed, I felt things I can't remember ever feeling, and was reminded of the ones I forgot about.
The pacing in each of these was absolute perfection. The lineation set up in all the right ways for me to reflect that extra second it took for my eyes to find their footing again.
Ennenbach strips bare and puts his insides on the outside for us all to witness. It's honestly refreshing to see such a rawness these days when we're all just avatars on social media. I loved it.

After a few months of possessing this book, I have finally finished reading it! I have read many 300-page books, and some of them in just a couple of days flat, but I didn't want to do that with this book. Not because I didn't love it, but because of how much I loved it! I wanted to savor this book! Sad, only because I knew one day it would come to an end. It was absolutely incredible, how the author could tell a story, with only a handful of words, then make it so meaningful! And I don't normally do this, but I hate to say that I dogged eared many pages in this book! Only because they were so many poems here, that I want to read again and again! I could go on and on, but I seem to be rambling! LOL. Simply put, if you have a soul, or emotions, or a heartbeat, I would highly recommend this book!
I’m very conflicted with my feelings on this. On one hand, there were so many gorgeous poems in here. On the other hand, there were a lot of poems that didn’t do anything for me.
