Ok, so let’s talk about this book: “Time. Money. Freedom.” It’s part of the Hay House Business line of products. There are business books and there are “self help” business books. This not the book that will get you from point A to success with guidance every step of the way. There’s actually no real business strategies for entrepreneurs in this book, but it does have standard self help mind shifts and fun ideas to try.
But a third of the book is the constant personal stories of Ray and Jessica on how successful they’ve become. It gets a little fatiguing to hear it over and over again. “We did it, so can you!”
Overall, if you’re looking to start your own business and are completely oblivious, this book is Step 1 on the long list of resources you’ll be reading. If you already have a business concept or plan, skip it.
And, yes, they do try to sell you their membership programs at the end.
A generic guide book with a few exercises to help define what you get excited about and work to turn that into a business. The book primarily discussed how they (the authors) created a multi-level marketing business and some of the missteps in getting there. While their path is not indicative of anyone else’s success, I found myself wondering out loud, “wasn’t MLM widely considered scammy?”
The reader might find the mental exercises and assignments helpful. Nothing mind blowing.
I am amazed at the skill set this man has. He has overcome so much and still manages to show positivity and grit when getting going. I Like the new approach he has taken as well as the Christ-centered way of building his business. It shows that you can become successful, or in Rays' situation stay successful no matter your faith without having to step on others to reach the pinnacle of success. Great book ray.
Finally finished my first business development book this year, I’ve had my nose buried in CoHo, but also know I need balance. If you’re looking for a practical guide to really take control of your side business, this one is it! It lays out tools, resources, and advice that applies to all small businesses, but love the focus it has on social selling businesses.
Full of Action steps and explanations for each of the 10 rules that have in the book. Ray and Jessica Higdon are candid with real-life stories and lessons.
