A great book for learning that method, it is indeed focused in a time where computers were just stating but the main idea is still functional, the characters are there just for the plot and the plot is there just for explaining the method, so sometimes they don’t seem to be normal persons, it not the objective of the book to develop characters only to easily explain the method. The method is a great management tool applicable to small and big organizations, focused on results and mainly made for those who have a problem with a flood of information or reports that are too big and too many.

Administración en una página te muestra cómo utilizar y confeccionar un reporte de una página donde incluyes la información necesaria para conseguir optimizar operaciones en una empresa, costos, saber lo que está mal, para mi tiene también aplicación en la vida diaria, con el ejemplo que aparece en el libro se puede crear un modelo de organización en cualquier aspecto que desees desarrollar. Me parece un libro muy útil porque a veces tenemos problemas de comunicación en cuanto a resultados, formas de hacer las cosas y nos en liamos con tanta información, con el modelo de una página, es muy útil desarrollar las informaciones que son valiosas y comunicarnos mejor, incluso para visualizar nosotros la situación actual X, las metas y objetivos a perseguir. El libro plantea este método a través de una historia de negocios, me parece que gracias a la historia es aún más fácil entender el método.

The basic ideas are fine and applicable today. I had to continuously remind myself that the book was written in 1986 and presently the information problem that Scott gets himself into wouldn’t be that complicated to solve. I didn’t like the idea that the The Infoman was Scott’s Mary Poppins. I would find it more believable if he were a Consultant properly paid for the services.

Eso sí, quien espere encontrar en este libro calidad literaria estará perdiendo su tiempo.

I read this book over 20 years ago and couldn't find it anywhere anymore. The English version is incredibly difficult to find, but the Spanish version was available on the Kindle store. It is a precursor to the Total Alignment method, but it sets the groundwork and provides the three one-page reports that can help align a company.
