Rapid Reporting Revision Packs For The FRCR 2b Exam: Volume 1

Rate this book
The final FRCR examination, administered by the Royal College of Radiologists, is widely regarded as one of the most difficult postgraduate examinations. In particular, the rapid reporting component causes much fear and trepidation for candidates. This volume is part of the “RR Revision Packs for the FRCR 2b exam” bundle from the “xray doctor” family of radiology books, and aims to provide practice for this component of the examination. For detailed information about the exam format and structure, please refer to the information on the RCR website (www.rcr.ac.uk).

This is a Kindle-only publication, in recognition of the fact that revision now takes place in multiple different locations, using myriad devices. The Kindle app is widely available, so this e-book is accessible whether you use a Kindle device, or the Kindle app on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Mac, and Windows 8 PCs and tablets. The advantage of this is that you can use this e-book to practice for your exam whether you are at home, on the bus, or over lunchtime. There is no need to carry a hard copy book with you. The images are formatted to automatically resize for all of these different devices, but you can also use the zoom and pan function. Please note that these functions vary across the different devices, so check your settings and menu options for how to zoom and pan on your device. Commonly found options are double tapping to zoom, or a long press followed by choosing Zoom.

In this series, each pack is presented as a series of high quality images for reporting, and also separately with the answers annotated. Tips are provided with answers to aid in improving reporting skills. You may wish to go through the question pack and note down your answers for marking later, or go through the answer pack and test yourself image by image. Mark each image as "normal" or "abnormal", and note down the abnormality in brief (for example, "5th metatarsal fracture"). The number and type of normal and abnormal xrays in this series reflects the RCR exam format. Click on the "Look Inside" link above to see an example of the xrays shown in this e-book.

This is the first volume of the series, and contains 1 pack of rapid reporting films. More volumes are in the pipeline. Please note that great care has been taken to ensure that the films in this e-book are of the highest quality, although human errors and misdiagnoses do occur. I would be most pleased to receive your feedback, either personally or by leaving a review on the Amazon page.
