I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Chloe is a photographer who specialises in nature, she is visiting Knotty Ridge in the hope of capturing rare wildflowers l, she is soaking in the beauty when she suddenly becomes apparent that she isn’t alone when a black bear makes an appearance. She searches her brain for everything she was taught in staying safe but nothing is going to deter this bear of what she could be, his lunch! Will she escape unscathed and who is her mystery rescuer?
Clint Jackson is an ex army ranger who is suffering with PTSD, moving to Knotty Ridge gives him just what he needs, time to heal. He out collecting wood to take back to his cabin when he hears a most definite lady’s scream and then the roar of a bear. He racing to find the person who is in danger, after saving her he sees that she’s been injured and takes her back to his cabin. He knows that the woman currently being carried on his back is here for a reason but she’s a city girl and he moved to the mountain for a peaceful existence. Will Chloe stay with him on the mountain or leave not only Clint behind but her heart too?
Fab fab fab start to the new series, Clint and Chloe’s story has all you could want, and the banter in the story I found quite amusing. Great read highly recommended read. Even though these books are short the stories are complete and don’t feel rushed. 4* Read

Mountain Man is the first book in the Mountain Men of Knotty Wood Ridge series and is the story of Clint and Chloe.
Clint grew up on The Ridge, Knotty Tree Ridge, Colorado to be exact. This is a small town located in the San Juan mountain range and his family owns almost all of the land of The Ridge mountain. After high school he enlisted and became an Army Ranger. After being overseas and being one of two to survive a bad ambush he came back to The Ridge and settled on the top. He built a cabin and a business building custom furniture. In the woods he finds peace and is able to cope with his PTSD, along with look after his mother who lives in town.
Chloe is twenty-four years old and grew up a town over from Knotty Tree Ridge. She is smart and was able to get a couple scholarships to pay for community college, as she was not interested in going to an Ivy league university. Instead she loves to be outside and has built a business taking pictures of nature, specifically rare birds and flower of The Ridge.
Chloe is out on The Ridge getting pictures when a big black bear decides that she would make a lovely snack. Clint is carrying a log up the slope to his cabin to use to build something with when he hears the piercing scream of a woman. His Ranger training kicks in and he drops the log as he takes off to investigate. When he hears another scream as he is cresting a slope he sees a woman backed up against a tree by a bear. Without thinking he goes into action and ends up throwing a punch that lands square in the bears face. A few swipes by the bear and another punch by Clint has the bear stunned and deciding that Chloe is not the easy snack he was expecting. Chloe has sprained her ankle badly and is unable to walk so Clint puts her on his back and hikes up the side of his mountain to his cabin with her. Along the way Chloe realizes that Clint was injured by the bear and so she takes care of him when they go inside. One thing leads to another and they are quickly stripping each other and Clint in having Chloe as a nice snack. Clint is laying his claim to Chloe and not about to let her leave his mountain any time soon, especially since he can picture her round with his child.
This is a fun OTT, insta-lust/love story with a very protective mountain of a man and a feisty, independent and curvy young woman. There are a few proofreading errors but nothing that caused any real issue, other than one inconsistent detail. Overall I enjoyed and liked this story and the characters and had a smile with the lovely epilogue.

I truly have no idea how this woman keeps churning out 5 star reads on a constant basis. This book had my face hurting from smiling. I just read an amazing book from Regina today Meeting Madison and it was phenomenal. I’ll say the same thing as I said in that review. Regina’s female leads are the type of girls I like 100%. They’re charming, snarky, witty, thick (hubba hubba) always loyal and cute. She has this writing style that just draws in the reader and transports them to that destination and for better and worse the reader does not want to leave. Each story I want more. Each story I wish was longer. She has that pull on me. I myself suffer from PTSD, working EMS for many years and then losing one of my 12 year old twins followed by my 20 year marriage and the rest of my family. It destroyed me mentally as well as physically. So reading about Oliver hits close to home. PTSD Comes in all forms and triggers. But the pain is the same. It’s hard to live and it’s hard to cope. Reading Regina’s books help me. I’m glad she cranks them out because it gives me something to do. Gives me an escape. I know a lot of these reviews are supposed to be light hearted but for me it’s real. Reading truly does take me places I wish to go. These authors are truly magical bringing light where there’s nothing but darkness. Reading her books always shines a beacon of light upon me. So a huge thank you goes out to Ms Wade from me. She rocks

Big Bad Older Loner In love with his mountain. But is he really bad? Clint lives on the mountain. Built his cabin and works on the mountain. He is out in his woods when he hears a woman scream. Chloe is a nature photographer who needs to be saved at the moment from a black bear. Clint feels something open in his heart when he rescues Chloe. Can Clint open his heart and let Chloe in? Can Chloe who is younger and inexperienced with men trust Clint? This is a quick little read that has descriptive, charming characters who you will come to love. It is a great story about unexpected encounters and maybe love at first sight, not the kind that slams into you, but the kind that continues to smolder and burn and ignite and continue to grow and grow. Great first book to a new series. Can’t wait for the rest! More please.

Clint is a former special forces soldier that lives on Knotty Tree Ridge in the San Juan mountains. Chloe is a nature photographer in the woods to get pictures of a rare flower when she encounters a black bear. She does everything she has been taught to deter a bear but this bear is not having any of it. Clint hears Chloe's screams and comes to the rescue. Having sprained her ankle, Chloe cannot hike back out of the woods. Clint carries Chloe to his nearby cabin. Can he now convince her to stay?
This is a fun short steamy romance. Chloe's character is fun, independent and driven. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Clint has moved to the mountains to get away from the fast pace of life.

So picture you are looking a specific flower that is not in bloom yet. All of a sudden a black bear that seems to be the size of King Kong is tracking you and now has your hand against a tree. Trying to distract it make yourself bigger than all the facts about the bear does not do anything to get rid of him. Apparently the bear has another agenda, lunch. Clint Jackson comes off from the side and tries in a succeeds and out growling the bear. Not to mention a good right hook to the snout. Talk about first impressions. You’re injured, he’s injured and yet he still carries you back to his cabin. I don’t know about you but that’s the making of a great love story. Shorts. And steamy intense situations makes it interesting to read. No cliffs.

Clint is alone on the mountain hauling a log to his cabin when he hears a yell. It stops him in his tracks because its a woman's cry for something to 'BACK OFF'. All he heard was the roar of a bear. He moved to the area to help and to scare of the bear. Instead Clint punches the bear & it startled the bear. Shocked and injured Chloe is put on the strangers back and is carried back to his cabin. Wondering why she is out there by herself, come to find out she's a photographer wanting to get the perfect picture of the perfect. Clint promises to get her there when the time is right, Chloe is attracted to this mountain man, Clint. They hit it off well. Love is in the air on the mountain.

Clint distracts the bear and hits it before sending it on its way. Then he takes Chloe back to his home because she's hurt her ankle. Sparks fly between them and soon neither can keep their hands off the other. Will Chloe be the woman Clint has been waiting for to be able to move on?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Regina Wade has become one of my must read authors and this book only solidifies this. This is the 1st book in a new series and I can't wait to read more! Ms. Wade has a way of grabbing your attention at the beginning and keeping it till the end. In our crazy world, with little to no reading time, it's such a joy to read a short story that leaves you feeling so good when you finish. Clint and Chloe's story is one of thinking that you will be alone in your life to only find your soul mate in the most unlikely of circumstances. This book has everything that you could want; comedy, action, drama and of course hot romance (it is a Regina Wade book after all). Please don't pass up this delightful gem of a book!

Mountain Man by Regina Wade is a tender May/December romance about Clint and Chloe. She’s a photographer for her own wildlife page and runs into a huge bear!!! Clint saves her! He’s been alone in the mountains for some time. He produces home-made furniture. But, he has secrets….can they make a go of it????
I LOVE stories by Regina Wade! They’re shore, and highly entertaining….while being super steamy as well!!! Everything!!! This story made my day!!!!

I often use these descriptors in regards to Wade’s books; sweet, sexy, and passionate, I love those things, so I continue to really enjoy each short story I read of Wade’s. There’s always instalove and a virgin heroines in Wade’s books, but each book has those special differences that make each story unique. This one starts with nature photographer, Chloe, being saved by ex-military mountain man, Clint. Loved the imagery! Set in the mountains with all the lush trees and beautiful views! I think the author did a particularly good job of describing the setting in this book. The romance and connection between Chloe and Clint is wonderful. Love the mountain man scenario! A shorty, but a goody!

This book is silly, over the top, unbelievable, and so utterly fun to read. I loved it! It's sure to brighten your day with laughter. Clint is possessive, caring, and built like a mountain. Chloe is sassy, feisty, and knows her mind. No drama, just lots of loving. And there's this scene with a bear, no spoilers, that is laugh out loud funny! If you're looking for a complete break from reality that will leave you giggling and happy, then this is the book for you. Happy Reading!

Chloe is definitely a mountain mans dream come true. Just ask Clint. Chloe seems to be just the free spirited woman everyone wants to know and be friends with. Chloe is perfect for mountain man Clint who is battling his demons. This story shows you that being patient and loving someone regardless of their scars may just be the medicine to help them heal even if it is only a splinter of healing. I highly recommend this book.

I love a good mountain man story. And I love a good curvy girl story. That said, I bet you can guess how I felt about this book. I also really enjoy the playlists that Ms. Wade puts with her stories. This book has the added appeal of our mountain man being a patriot, a hero. I appreciate that the author took the time to address PTSD with the idea of making the reader aware of it. I am looking forward to reading the next book by Ms. Wade.

Chloe is a short, curvy wildlife photographer and Clint is a big, gruff former Army Ranger who makes her feel dainty and sexy. Chloe has never believed in soul mates or love at first sight before meeting Clint. Clint rescues Chloe from a bear attack and then takes her home to take care of her until she recovers. This is a short but steamy insta-love romance. It is a perfect book for an afternoon read to leave you feeling warm and happy.

This is an older alpha man and a younger spirited woman. When Clint had to walk away from the Army Rangers the only place he would ever go home to was Knotty Wood Ridge in Colorado. He meets Chloe when he's out hunting and he hears a woman scream. Chloe is a nature photographer who has meet a black bear. This is a wonderful sweet, charming, quick read. Mountain Man is a sweet love story of Clint and Chloe. Clint lives in the mountains and crosses path with Chloe when she is trapped by a bear. After punching the bear in the, Clint opens his home and his heart to Chloe.
Clint and Chloe's story is a sweet and simple one, of finding the person who not only understands you but will be there for you no matter what. I really enjoyed this book, it made my heart flutter.

Okayish
This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments; BUT it also had lot of just okay moments and just a sliver of the romance that the title implied. However, even though there were times when it would lull, I never pondered choosing another novel for immediately something would grab my attention again. There was always something slightly spicy or mysterious which would reel me back in to stick by the side of this author. In the end, though, I'm glad I finished reading this novel.

When Clint saves Chloe from a black bear, he has no option other than to take her to his cabin since she hurt her ankle. Once at the cabin, they each realize that they have met their soulmate. When Hot mountain man Clint rescues poor Chloe from a giant bear he never thought he would meet the one. This is an OTT hero, that meets beauty heroine and then proceeds to break a lot of furniture. Chemistry between Clint and Chloe is smoking and the storyline is fun, intriguing and sexy. Look forward to more from Regina Wade she is one of my favourite authors.

A very cute story! It’s instalove when Logan and Anna meet, and you can literally see the sparks fly. It’s so adorable how Logan tries to fight his feelings, but you can’t help but to cheer them on to their HEA. This quick story was short, sweet and oh so steamy! Definitely worth the addition to my library.

This was a cute and at times somewhat humorous read with the antics this couple got upto, but the story did go on to deal with the serious topic of PTSD as our hero had been in a war zone. Our hero and one other man were the only two to make it out of one mission, and they were still trying to deal with that together.

Wow! A quick read but very, very romantic. Wonderful descriptive mountaintop, fast deep romance and she is literally carried everywhere. Author did a terrific job of backstories, characters and scenery. Love so deep and quick that it is shattering. Hope there are a bunch of other stories by this author..... I am there!

This is a quick read which has a good story, flowed well and held my interest. The characters were likeable and I felt a connection to them. I liked seeing what happened to them a little bit later on.

This is a quick read which has a good story, flowed well and held my interest. The characters were likeable and I felt a connection to them. I liked seeing what happened to them a little bit later on.

Thrilling meet cute with an ex-military man, a nature photographer and an angry bear. Love the attitudes of the characters will a joy for life the care for nature and helpfulness towards friends in need. Enjoyed the connection and ending to this fun storyline.
