Okay Ashley and Jaquavis you've done it again, I couldn't put this book down. IDC IDC IDC Mo is Mecca's son he causes the same type of problems like his (Dad). What Mo did to Carter both times broke my heart. Now Carter (CJ) I love love love him he is his daddies child with his smooth a$$ but I think he's going to be greater than his dad at the Game. Ashton has run for her money and I pray she does the right thing. Miamor she's just that B@%ch. My dude Zyir yesssss is all I got to say.
Just finished the audiobook and I think I like Stephen L. Taylor’s narration. I know Cary Hite is the original and he’s hard to follow, but Stephen held his own.
I didn’t like the last installment of the Cartel. I thought that it was boring and sort of disappointing seeing that it had a really long successful stretch. But here comes the duo reigniting the series once more. I didn’t have high hopes, but because I’ve read it from the beginning I guess I couldn’t leave it be.
Let me preface this by saying I did like this installment and A&J’s story telling abilities was on full display once again. However, they always have those detail issues that get messed up. I don’t know if it has something to do with them not communicating or if it’s editing, but I found the same issues as I have with a lot of their very good novels. There is that discrepancy with Aurora and Guy. So what actually happened between them? In the first scenes I know what I heard/read, but later it seemed as if that wasn’t accurate according to the telling in a later chapter. I’m going to leave that there as to not give any spoilers. That’s why I took a star off because when a story is this good and all these years of writing this series y’all gone have to come better than that with details. The next installment is already out and I’m scared because it was quick. I hope it’s polished.
So we know that basically the authors have just recreated the original again with the kids of the old cast with a few differences and twists. I think that even they made it clear by always comparing Moe to Mecca and CJ to Carter. I think that In this social climate we are in now the timing is right for another run. Another drawback for me is that Ashton and CJ Do Not have the same chemistry as Miamore and Carter. The chemistry builds and then it’s doused. That’s really surprising to me because Ash is a master at chemistry building. It fell short here. I think I see where their story is going though. I won’t add it in this review, but I’ll be reading the new series to see if I’m correct. I had always heard Zyir and Breeze would have their own series, but maybe we get a glimpse of their reconnection here. Again, their chemistry was not as potent as the earlier novels. The ruthlessness in both the Cartel and their adversaries are very potent. They really shined with that part of the novel. I mean... this one was like the little engine that could... now let’s get to it.
I have waited YEARS for this story. I was excited to see Jaquavis post that is was released. I rushed to Amazon to place my order. So let me get the bad part out first. I am upset that after all this time this book was so short.I feel like it was over before it started. I know it says to be continued in Money Devils but Long Live The Cartel should have lasted a bit longer. The Cartel is it’s own story. Now that I got that out of the way, the book was good. I was SO angry with Breeze for not guiding Aurora better especially because she went through so much as a teen/young adult. And I was also mad at Mo for what he did to Carter. But I was ecstatic at the way Zy was so happy to see B, that he even remembered her. I feel bad for his chick but Aye there is no comparison to Breeze Diamond. I can’t wait for Money Devils to find out what happens next. I kind of wish I’d waited until it was released before reading this so I could have jus kept going.
I have re-read and finished all eight books of the Cartel series by Ashley and JaQuavis. I started on August 7, 2024, and it ended April 13, 2025. And, oh wow, what a ride, what an ending, however, the saga continues with The Money Devils that I dint think I wanted to read but I have too because The Cartel series came to a screeching halt just like that and now something else is brewing it seems like. with that said, I truly think that Mo might be Mecca's son and not Monroe's or his spirit rest in his nephew. I also think Breeze is right when she says that Miami is a curse to the Diamond family. Man, Ashley and JaQuavis is a duel that can't be stopped in this literary world, and they may be the only husband and wife team in this arena. So, it seems that the sons of the Cartel empire are going to pick up where their fathers left off because of the death of their cousin Breeze and Zyair's daughter. So, I say again, the saga continues.

OK, I WAITED A FEW YEARS BEFORE I DECIDED TO WRITE MY REVIEW ON THIS INSTALLMENT BECAUSE I JUST DIDN'T LIKE HOW MY FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER IN THE BOOK WAS MOVING. I GOT IT BAD FOR LIL MO MONEY MECCA DIAMOND KNOWN TO READERS AS MIAMI MO DIAMOND, BUT I JUST CAN'T GET DOWN WITH WHAT HEHAD DONE TO HIS COUSIN CARTER JR IN ORDER TO GET TO THE MONEY QUICKER. A FEW QUCIK POINTS I'D GATHERED FROM THIS INSTALLMENT: OFF TOP: ASHLEY ANTOINETTE & JAQUAVIS COLEMAN NEED TO STOP F--KING WITH US WITH THOSE DREAM SEQUENCES PERTAINING TO MIAMOR & CARTER SR.!!!!!!!!I FELT LIKE THEY NEEDED TO BE SLAPPED FOR THAT DREAM SEQUENCE WITH MIA & CARTER GETTING HOT & HEAVY IN HER PRISON CELL! HOW MANY TIMES WERE ASH & JQC GONNA REMIND READERS ABOUT MO'S SEXY WILD MANE OF HAIR THROUGHOUT HIS INSTALLMENT?! I FELT THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE LIL MO DIAMOND LIKE K'WAN'S TAYSHAWN ANIMAL TORRES WITH THAT DESCRIPTION! THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO CHEMISTRY BETWEEN CJ & MA'TEE'S NIECE: ASHTON LACROIX! THE AUTHORS KEPT TRYING TO MAKE FETCH HAPPEN WITH THOSE TWO(C.J./ASH) BY GIVING THEM SPARRING & SEX SCENES THAT CAME OFF AS UNWORTHY OF LISTENING TO! I SKIPPED OVER ALLLLLLLLLL OF THEIR SCENES/EVERY LAST ONE OF THE SCENES WITH C.J. & ASH! I WONDERED WHAT READERS HAD READ WHEN THEY KEPT SAYING THAT C.J. WAS JUST LIKE HIS DADDY/JUST AS SMOOTH AS HIS DADDY". WHEN I THOUGHT HE WAS A RUDE F--KING A**HOLE NOTHING AT ALL LIKE HIS DADDY CARTER JONES SR.! LIL MO HAD MORE CHEMISTRY WITH ASH THAN C.J. HAD! EVERY SCENE THAT MO & ASH HAD SCREAMED FIRE! AA & JQC MISFIRED BY PUTTING ASH WITH C.J. WHEN MO & ASH HAD WAAAAAAAAAAAY MORE CHEMISTRY TOGETHER!!!!!! WHO IS KARIZMA? HOW DID HE MEET ASH, & FOR WHAT PURPOSE DID THE AUTHORS MAKE KARIZMA A GAY DUDE?! I DIDN'T LIKE HIS "I DON'T STICK MY D--K IN NOTHING THAT BLEEDS ONCE A MONTH" COMMENT HE TOLD MO, WHICH DECLARED HIMSELF GAY! IT CAUSED ME TO YELL AT BOTH THE BOOK & THE AUDIBLE: OH, KARIZMA, YOU DON'T F--K WITH FEMALES, BUT YOU'LL STICK YOUR D--K IN PLACES THAT SH-TS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY??!FOHWTBS!!!!!!!!!!!! MURDER MAMAS: MIAMOR & ARIES MAKING CAMEOS WAS WHAT SOLD THE BOOK FOR ME! I DO NOT LIKE READING ANYTHING WITH PEDOPHILIA! SO, THAT SCENE BETWEEN 20-SOMETHING YR. OLD GUY MESSING WITH 14 YR.OLD AURORA RICH WAS SICKENING-EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE SCENES! I LOVED HOW MO HANDLED THAT SITUATION WITH GUY-BOTH TIMES, & EVEN LOVED HOW HE HELD HIS OWN WITH MA'DEA ABOUT RUNNING UP ON AUNTIE BREEZE CONFRONTING HER ABOUT HOW MO HANDLED GUY FOR DISRESPECTING HIS COUSIN AURORA! I THINK MO MIGHT'VE GONE TOO FAR WITH WHAT HE'D DONE TO MA'DEA'S SON, BECAUSE HIS ACTIONS LED TO MA'DEA REACTING LEAVING BREEZE MOTHERLESS IN THE PROCESS. WHY DID C.J. SEEM DETACHED FROM THE DEATH OF HIS LITTLE COUSIN AURORA? HE EVEN RUSHED BREEZE TO GET ON WITH INFORMING SNITCH AZZ ZYIR RICH ABOUT AURORA'S DEATH WHILE BREEZE WAS OUTSIDE THE DOORSTEP OF ZYIR'S CRIB TRYING TO PREPARE HERSELF TO BE IN HER EX-HUSBAND'S PRESENCE AGAIN & REVEALING THAT THEIR CHILD, WHOM HE NEVER KNEW, WAS UNALIVE. THEN, C.J. LET HIS MOUTH BE DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS HIS 'AUNT' ARIES WHEN SHE TOLD HIM THAT HIS MOTHER MIAMOR NEVER WANTED HIM INVOLVED IN THE CRIMINAL LIFE WHILE ON THAT AIR STRIP! I DON'T LIKE HOW C.J.'S CHARACTER IS BEING WRITTEN! THIS RUDE N*GGA RUSHED OFF TO ARRIVE AT THE DOORSTEP OF ASHTON SO HE COULD USE HER BODY TO F--K HIS TROUBLES AWAY, INSTEAD OF BEING THERE FOR HIS AUNT BREEZE WHO HAD TO PLAN A FUNERAL FOR HER ONLY CHILD & RETALIATION FOR THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNALIVING HER ONE & ONLY DAUGHTER AURORA! THOSE SCENES WITH BREEZE & ZYIR DID THE IMPOSSIBLE BY MAKING ME BLUSH & LEAVE MY OWN ROOM AS THEY PLAYED OUT ON THE AUDIBLE, NOT TO RETURN UNTIL THE STEAMY COUCH SCENE WAS OVER! ONE SCENE THAT LEFT ME STEAMED WAS ZYIR YOKING UP MO DIAMOND BECAUSE HE SPOKE THE TRUTH: A SNITCHING AZZ N*GGA (ZYIR) WAS IN THEIR MIDST & HE WAS UNHAPPY ABOUT IT, GIVEN ZYIR'S SNITCHING ULTIMATELY RESULTED IN MO'S (UNCLE) DAD: MONROE MONEY DIAMOND SR.'S DEATH AT THE HANDS OF POLICE WHO WERE THERE-AT THE DIAMOND ESTATE- TO ARREST MONROE SR.! ZYIR'S SNITCHING WAS WHAT BROUGHT DOWN THE DIAMOND FAMILY (CARTER SR. ON THE RUN/MONROE SR. SHOT DOWN LIKE A HERD OF ANIMALS ON HIS DOOR STEP/MIAMOR IN PRISON)! I FOUND IT ODD THAT LIL MO WAS THE ONLY ONE OUT OF HE. C.J., & BREEZE WHO WAS DISPLEASED WITH ZYIR BEING IN THEIR FAMILY ESTATE! MO WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD THE BALLS TO CONFRONT ZYIR FOR HIS SNITCHING AGAINST CARTER SR. & THE DIAMOND FAMILY! I WANT TO KNOW HOW BREEZE/MO/C.J. ARE GONNA RETALIATE AGAINST MA'DEA. ASH SHOWED HER TRUE COLORS IN THE END! ONE FINAL NOTE: L.STEVEN TAYLOR DID HIS THING BRINGING THESE CHARACTERS TO LIFE IN HIS NARRATION! I'M SURE I'LL THINK OF MORE I'D GOTTEN FROM THIS INSTALLMENT, BUT UNTIL THEN I'M OUT THIS MF!
The Cartel is back.. that Aurora got on my nerves..Ok....what happened to the Bosses that were all kidnapped & offered the opportunity to get on with that New synthetic Drug? Where is Anari?? I really enjoyed the book but nothing from the last book was addressed.. Yeah We noticed
It was good to jump back into Cartel land again. I miss the Diamond era so bad and we are still losing people in this book. One thing Ashley and JaQuavis will do is kills a character. It was nice seeing old characters and learning about new characters. Let’s see how life is gonna go for Young Carter as steps into his father shoes and shouldn’t trust anyone around him.
This book was great. It was a long time coming and it did not disappoint. From the way it reminded me of the details from the previous Cartels stories to how it build on the storyline. How the kids have grown into themselves but still the Diamond legacy in their DNA that’s undeniable. This book is a straight page turner, it’s excited, has some funny, and some sexy but most of all it lives up to the standard set by the past books. I look forward to Money devils and I’m happy it’s not that long of a wait to see what will happen next. These authors out did themselves as they always do.
This muthafuckin book was GOOD! My interest in The Cartel has been reignited with this book. A new set of pieces on the chessboard...and I'm mad as SHIT I gotta wait for the next one. Ain't no telling when and if I'm gonna get it. They sure left me hanging with the Carter Diamond series (still fucking PISSED about that shit!)
First of all, Mo look and act like Mecca. And I love him. He a little shady, he a hot head, and he wanna be the boss, but I love him! His lil fine wild hair having tatted up ass.
I feel bad for Aurora. But her lil ass ain't have to do nothing but fucking listen. Her being hardheaded and tryna be grown got her in this mess. The war between the Cartel and Madea might have popped off regardless, because Mo wants the spot he feels like is rightfully his, and Madea got it right now because the Cartel was pretty much dead. He had nothing but a name and he wants more...just like Mecca. But the situation with Guy and Aurora, which was fucking disgusting, accelerated what was probably inevitable. He did Carter dirty as fuck with the steroids. And I know he harbors resentment about being in jail while Carter was being groomed by Estes. But I really believe he loves his cousin. He went about getting what he wanted in a fucked up way, and involved Carter in some shit he was adamant about not being a part of.
Now Ashton ass...I'm fuckin mad at her. First of all...let's backtrack...Miamor ass did exactly what the fuck she always do, which is some fuck shit thinking she doing the right thing, and ending up starting some unnecessary shit. All those years Carter was with Estes, that man was raising him, and even though he had no love for him at first, because he wasn't blood, he literally grew to love him. He was Carter's father. And Miamor, thinking she knows more than she does, sent her little protege out to kill Estes, in her mind because he was eventually going to kill Carter because she killed Taryn, but also to pretend to be someone she isn't in order to keep Carter safe.
Now Carter is taking his place at the head of the Cartel, and his first order of business is to find the person who killed Estes because he wants them dead, not knowing it's the woman he's falling for (shit sound familiar). She line him up with a team, Carter offers the nigga Riss (however you spell it) a million dollars and asks Ashton to deliver it to him. Instead, this bitch is gonna take the money and run, because she figures that at some point, some loose ends she was unaware of are going to lead back to her as the person who killed Estes, and Carter is gonna kill her. And now she loves him. So not only is she leaving him when he let his guard down for her, but she stealing from him too. She crossing Carter AND Miamor. That crazy bitch is gonna be out soon. And when she finds out what Ashton did to her son, she gonna be ready to kill her.
This shit bout to get crazy and guess what...? I have no idea when I'm gonna get answers. I thought Money Devils was gonna give me some answers, but that shit about the Haitians. I need to know what's gonna happen. These Colemans better not leave me hanging man. I reread the first three books after leaving the series alone after book 3 years ago, only to come back when they were on like book 5, went through the whole series thinking it was done, lost interest around book 6, NOW I'm hooked again and I gotta wait. I'm distraught!

The continuation of the Diamond Family had to happen, so much was left unresolved. Is this the Cartel a Sega? yes so let’s not complain about how Ashley and Jaquavis’ books have no true ending because this why we keep coming back to dig deeper into each story, to see how this character plays into the larger plan. It’s epic writing and I am here for all of it.
In short this book was good, not great but for sure good. I felt that I got to know Carter – CJ – and Mo as men now. Aurora gave me flashbacks of Breeze for sure. I so was hoping that her character would have been taken into a different direction instead of one that I felt was a predictable outcome. That was my one disappointment of this read. But it had a big impact on my final rating and got me to thinking.
My hope for the next installment is to make these children of past characters not to be mirror images of those that came before them. I hope they are smarter than those other characters because as a reader we have seen their mistakes, take us –the reader- down another road, tell another story of the Cartel, spice it up. With that I believe it is a solid 3.5 stars. It could have been better but it also could have been much worse. I did listen to some of this on Audible and the narrator L. Steven Taylor –new to me- voice complement each character well just in the final production copy there was errors/self-corrections that shouldn’t have made the final edit. These audible aren’t cheap so quality control is key.
So much ! Book was bittersweet. Makes me want to reads the series again. CJ is just as smooth as his dad once was. He grew up and made a name for himself all for one incident to pull him into living up to his bloodline. Mo.... It’s like reading about Mecca all over again. I know he allegedly belongs to Money buttt. Mo makes decisions based off Mo and no one else. And sometimes those decisions come with heavy repercussions. He means well but just like Mecca he acts before he thinks. Breeze. Breeze basically hid from her old life and name for years and now being back in Miami she’s reliving the nightmares of losing her family. I felt Breeze dropped thee ball in this story and hopefully she makes it right. Ashton is a little Miamor in the making. Her and Cj is Mia and Carter all over again. What started off as a task has now turned into a dilemma as Ashton has fell in love with Cj. Will she stay or run?
This book was good from start to finish. I enjoyed reading about the Breeze and Zyir. Monroe is a dang hot head and Carter Jr is a absolutely a sweetheart. I loved that he didn’t wanna join the family business but you know once a Diamond always a Diamond. Ashton was only supposed to do one thing now she going to break my boy heart and that’s going to turn him into a damn beast.
Guy and his friends were truly terrible to that precious baby girl. Aurora didn’t deserve what they did to get. Ma’Dear is a wicked old b***h. She didn’t have to do that when Gut was to blame in the dang beginning. Ma’Dear is about to see why you don’t mess with a Diamond no matter if they are a boy or girl. Now to the next book ......
I listened to the audiobook and cringed at whomever this guy was narrating it. He was awful. His voice changes and mispronounced words and names made it even worse.
Overall I felt like this was a rushed book. Unlike the other Cartel books, the details were off. The storyline was rushed. It was all over the place. This was a poor reflection of Ashley & Jaquvis's writings. I was disappointed in the storyline. I was glad to see Zy and Breeze reconnect. But the rest of it was blah. I kept waiting for that suspense scene or height that makes a book a good page-turner. This book didn't have it. I'm committed to the Cartel. Hopefully whatever books are to follow are better than this.
Omg!! Worth the wait!! That Mo....smh Are we sure he is not Mecca’s?? Lol And ready about CJ, whew feels like Carter Jones all over again 🤗 So happy Money Devils coming in a month. I don’t think I could have waited any longer!!! LLTC #asharmy
The plot of this story is the tale of a man struggling against the curse of tradition and who he wants to be. Carter Jr. is far removed from his family’s illegal dealings and wants to remain that way. His promising boxing career comes to an end and he is forced to step into the shoes of the man he loathes…. his father Carter Jones Sr. This book is truly the set up to the double cross of the century. From Monroe to Ashton with Aurora thrown in the middle I didn’t know who to yell at first. The Colemans know how to snatch a reader’s soul. I really hoped Carter could live out his dreams as a boxer. I don’t know how to feel about Monroe, is he snake or is he determined…. Aurora… poor Aurora was quickly swallowed by the allure of Miami… The only good thing that came from Aurora being in Miami was her parents Breeze and Zyir finally got some form of closure on their love story. It was good to see Zyir in his former gangster self…. Recovery did him well, but we all knew his heart still belonged to Breeze as hers did him. Carter and Ash’s love story resembles that of his father and mother’s the only problem is the clip that Ash hold close to her heart. She is unknown even to the person that hired her.
Overall this book is jammed packed with questions of who is really riding for who, who will come out on top and is love really enough? The Cartel is easily one of the best series written by this duo and I’m hoping that they continue the story at least until the birth of the next Generation. This book has been highly anticipated for YEARS and did not disappoint…. I'm all here for the destruction this new generation is about to cause. My only hope is that this generation truly learns from the mistakes of the past and take the advice and guidance of the only remaining ORIGINAL DIAMOND.
Cause DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER!!! Rating 5 Stars across the board

First things first, middle fingers up to the authors for that first chapter because that was real cruel and unusual. 🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾
I loved Mo’s relationship with his little cousin Aurora. It sounds crazy, but I’m kind of glad they took her out early. I couldn’t handle the stress of her on the page any longer. It gave she was gonna pull a Raven.
Also happy my baby Zy is back with his memories😫 I’m just mad they made him snitch, they should have had him do something else to betray the family.
Bottom line: this book was entirely too short. Good, but short.
I didn’t like the fact that Breeze did not make sure Aurora was protected. She knew that child needed protection around her. Mo was dead wrong for what he did to Carter. Carter better do his thing. I hope he finds out. I loved this series. What’s next?
Omg… The fact that this took me so long to finish, and I STILL loved it!!! This shit is about to get WILD!!!! I feel so bad for Ashton, cause she is putting herself in a dangerous game to end up in a grave or break Carter’s heart😩😩😩 BUT THE MF CARTEL IS BACK BABY!!!!! I just hope that the Diamond Lineage wins the war this time😩💆🏾♀️ Lord im stressed out 😂😭 5⭐️
i want to start by saying LLTC was a little better than TC7, except for predatory ideation on page. we see this happen way too often in real life, our young girls on both sides of the spectrum, properly cared for or not; start to get that attention from older men and if nobody is around to lead them properly they fall for the okie doke. – and any man that resembles Guy in this fashion, will get beat down, as they should. ALSO, what happened with the illuminati table and WHY IS MIAMOR STILL IN JAIL – hello Anari?? you left our bitch hanging down bad. Now with that off my chest, again LLTC was a tadddd bit better than TC7, really after losing Carter I haven’t been the same LOL. Of course, i loved seeing the growth of CJ and Mo – Mo is Mecca’s son, irdc what anyone else thinks or what they put on paper, he is a reincarnation of that man all the way down to his malicious intent of FORCING Carter into the drug game. Zyir, regaining his memories of Breeze was a heartwarming moment this book needed, and I love how he is still in that protective mode for her, when she told him she needed him, he didn’t hesitate a lick. NOW by the end of the book Miamor is out of jail and Ashton – you better get the fuck out of dodge.
This was a very good read after waiting for so long to catch up with the Diamond family! No was so wrong on so many levels! Carter just wants to box but no! Mo just had to do him dirty! Ashton, Lord what will happen with her and Miamor! Only time will tell but Miamor is going to be pissed! It will be interesting to see where we go from here! Having Breeze back was great but what happened to her was devastating. Having Zyir back was so exciting, I wonder what will become of them. I must say editing of this book was really needed I found a lot of grammatical errors, hence the 4 star rating. Also I hope they won't draw this series out too long or make us wait so long for follow up novels!
I enjoyed the book however it wasnt what I was expecting or wanted to read it felt like a spin off rather than a completion of the other books. I wish we got more info on Miamora and Cater, I wanted to know more about what Breeze and Zyir were up to all this time apart I even hoped to get more information on Aries but I was still left hanging on them, it was a good read in all
The Cartel continues to deliver after all these years. from start to finish i loved this book and can't wait to see whats next for the infamous Diamond Family.

This book was the worst in the series. A 25 y/o that took a 14 y/o virginity. Then violating her later in the book? I don’t even want to talk about the rest of the book.😒
