Judith's Prophecy was such a refreshing surprise. I knew that it was about vampires, so I expected a paint-by-numbers vampire book, which I probably would have liked anyway. But Judith's Prophecy is so much better. I'm a sucker for horror "adventures" and this fits the bill so well. Sure, there's a bit of gore and vampires, but this isn't the sort of unsettling horror that'll keep you up at night. Judith's Prophecy is pure adrenaline-fueled fun with nonstop action, relatable characters, and an interesting twist on vampire lore. The narrative flows easily and quickly, weaving in backstory as you go so that the plot can kick into high gear from the start. If you're looking for a fun vampire-filled time, look no further than Judith's Prophecy.

“Something different was happening. Those girls, the way they were killed, mutilated.”
And with that, Easy’s mission to avenge his family took on a demonic form he would’ve never imagined.

Easy and Ben went “onward down the rabbit hole” into hell the moment the world changed and they lost everything they loved to monsters. Beings with a thirst for blood and the teeth to quench that powerful proclivity. It seemed so simple, avenge their loved ones, eradicate this plague of otherworldly savages… until it wasn’t.
Until they met Jess, whose determination almost eclipsed their own.
Until the girls started disappearing out of Big Sky Park and being brutalized in gruesome rituals.
Until they started to put together that this was no ordinary vampire apocalypse.

This is my first by DW Hitz and it started as a slow burn for me; I felt like I was almost plunged into the middle of a story. That being said, it quickly and violently picked up into a page turning, blood filled adventure beyond what I had anticipated.

As most of you know by now, I’m a sucker for fantastic character development and their narrative voices, they make or break a read for me. Outside of the breakneck speed action that kept me up way past my bedtime, the protagonists voices were absolutely riveting, which thrust me into their words, as well as their minds and hearts.

“Easy was taken by a vision of another place, where chaos was unity, and only blood soothed the pain.”
I was right there with you, Easy. Right there with you. And I can’t wait to jump back into the next one to see where it takes us …

without a doubt I can say that this book is one of the best I have read, few readings have made me scream out loud from the shock and this book succeeded. The characters are amazing and it's easy to empathize with them once you get to know them along with their story. The plot twists are pretty good. Without a doubt, the whole plot leaves you in suspense and wanting to finish the book as soon as possible to calm that nervousness to know the fate of our protagonists. This book is really fantastic, yes, it is quite graphic with its gory scenes. In short, I highly recommend it.

It's been a while since I've sat down to consume SciFi for the fun of it and I am so glad I picked up the habit with "Judith's Prophecy"! D.W. Hitz has an incredible command of language and his storytelling is compelling right out of the gate. By the time I finished the book, I had that sense of loss -- the "aww, it's over" feeling you get when you can't wait to get your hands on the sequel, but teleporter technology hasn't been innovated yet.

Highly recommend this book!

Judith's Prophecy was a lot of fun! These are the kind of vampires I prefer to read about - gross, blood-sucking predators. This book reads like an action movie, but doesn't skimp on good characters or interesting plot. I'm eager to see where the story is going in the next two books.

I have always had a fascination with vampires and always enjoy a good story. This was far more than good it was absolutely fantastic! The characters are extremely well written and the vampires are nothing like I've read before. There is so much description that you feel there with the characters and the writing style just flows.

Poor Easy hasn't had it easy at all. Between a metor hitting, loosing his family, and becoming a hunter to avenge their death he now has to help stop a prophecy that can trigger the end of the world as it's known. Then there's Ben who is also a hunter assisting Easy to hunt the murderous creatures that killed his family. Not to mention Jesse and Edgar both of whom have wonderful character development. Run don't walk to start this series. It is a different and refreshing take one the vamp I re story.

I was provided a copy of Judith's Prophecy and am happily leaving this review.

A strong first book in a series with the promise of more. Hitz writes lean with an action-packed book. The story is always moving forward, from one fight to the next. The story starts out with vampires plotting to fulfill a prophecy. Then, the story shifts to Easy and Ben, and their small group of vampire hunters. They are soon joined by Jess who is from out East.

This story has a mix of gore, friendly banter, action, and romance.

Wow what an amazing story. This is not your average vampire story, I was kind of dreading that would scream the same old vampire plot but no this one was refreshing. The author has a way with words that keeps you engaged, interested and wondering what will happened next. It does have some gory-ish scene (after all it’s a vampire story).

Definitely worth reading if you’re into vampire stories and have been waiting like me for a good story.

Thank you for providing this opportunity to read this novel for free. This book gave me a different and unique flavour of reading. For me, this novel is totally different from the novel which I studied earlier. This is a story of a small-town Montana, where a vampire hunter seeks revenge for his family's death.
From the beginning itself when the writer described the character Easy was amazing. He was thinking of many possibilities. Then after few minutes, Ben enters into the character and the story goes on. Easy and Ben were vampire hunter because they want revenge from vampires. After all, vampires killed their family. Ben and Easy were talking about the Vampires. Vampire bodies burned differently than humans. It was all the wear and tear on the vessel, as far as Easy could tell. When a vampire demon found a home inside a human corpse, it drained the body dry and spoiled the insides into black remnants of organs. While they were on a mission they met another vampire hunter Jess. Easy texted Jess about his friend Ben who is talking about O'Shea. They learned that the vampires are performing some kinds of vampiric rituals for prehistoric forecasting. Easy, Ben and Jess were doing everything to defeat the vampires' syndicate leader and prevent prehistoric forecasting from happening. They must defeat the leader of the vampire to stop the deadly rituals practised on the Earth. If they will not do this then it means Hell on the Earth for the rest of Judith. After that, the kingdom of vampires will uprise on the Earth. In the last Easy and Maddy were talking about their time and Maddy replied the first full moon in January is when they’ll perform the ritual.“God help us if that’s not enough time,” Jess said.“We’ll be ready,” Easy said. He flipped open the cooler and pulled out a fresh beer. He stretched his aching arms and popped off the bottle’s lid. As the sun vanished behind the western ridge, the coolness of night swarmed into the campsite. The fire’s warmth called its onlookers in.
This is the last talk between them.
Recommended to all who loves different taste in one book.
Thank you Booktasters for providing this book and Special thanks to the writer for giving me this book and writing an amazing novel full of horror, adventures and surprises.

First off, I would like to say thank you to the author and Booktasters for offering me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Straight away from the first page, I was gripped by the storyline. It was horrifying and is what captivated me almost immediately. I was thrust into this battle between these evil creatures and humanity's fight against them who took the form of the main protagonists who themselves were great characters.

I loved the way this novel was written, the author did a great job with the sentence structure and the descriptive narrative was kept to a minimum that still allowed the reader to get a good picture of the story while not being overwhelmed at the same time. The flow was fantastic and that made it a genuine joy to read, especially the story which flowed so well from one chapter to the next.

The dialogue was awesome and the author really managed to captivate the struggles as well as the relationships between all the characters and was well established. An important part of reading for me is the characters and if I can connect with them through the words on the page and in this instance I did and because of that, I just wanted to keep reading so great job on the character dynamics. Easy, Ben and Jess were fantastic protagonists.

The portrayal of the vampires was my absolute favourite part of the book, besides the ending, and I won't say here because of spoilers but I loved the way they essentially come to be and I've not seen that before. I was a little worried about vampires as the main villains because it's been done so much but violent and horrifying beasts are for sure my favourite depiction of them.

I loved the ending and thanks to the buildup throughout the book, I suspected something like that was coming and it didn't fail to meet my expectations at all, especially how it made a nice transition to a second novel. The suspense was awesome and filled me with dread as I read the ending; the culmination of their struggles and fight ending in the inevitable. Really well done.

Overall, this book was fantastic and I recommend this to anyone and everyone because you'll definitely enjoy it!

Judith's Prophecy is the first book of the Big Sky Terror series. It is a story about two vampire hunters, Easy and Ben, whose mission is to avenge their families who were killed by vampires. While on their mission, they meet another vampire hunter, Jess, and they learned that the vampires they're hunting are performing vampiric rituals for an ancient prophecy. Easy and Ben, together with Jess, work together to defeat the vampire syndicate boss and to prevent the ancient prophecy from happening.

This book is a horror and action-packed vampire novel with a little bit of mystery and romance. It was eloquently written and I was completely hooked by the story right from the very start. It wasn't hard to get absorbed in Easy and Ben's world with how it was written. Not one dull moment in this book. It has been an emotional roller coaster ride for me. I fell in love with the trio especially Jess, who was such a badass! I love Easy and Ben's relationship and their funny banters from time to time. It was such an excellent read! I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thank you so much to Booktasters and the author, D.W. Hitz!

At first, I was not able to understand the book, but after the first section, I was able to visualize the people and places, and I went back to the first chapter until I recovered the pictures in my head.
Scary story and I have to focus on it...
The writer is very organized, I love the stylized design of the people and places.
I was imagining a background soundtrack in my brain and imagining it like a movie.
the Gothic doors and tall bookcases of vintage paperbacks all of these little details will surely steal your heart.
I recommend this read for everyone, it will not take much time as you will dive into the scenes very fast and wouldn't want to shut your eyes.

Thank you, Mr. Hitz

This was a very suspenseful well written vampire book that I enjoyed very much. The plot is suspenseful and flows well. I love the characters and I love how different people came together to fight for the big cause. The writing is so good that I was able to picture the characters, vampires, and demons clearly. I listened to it on audio and wasn’t able to stop until I got to the end. The narration was good as well.

A team of vampire hunters run up against a powerful foe, but there's more than meets the eye in this vampire thriller. There's plenty in this book for fans of monster hunting. It was part Underworld and part Supernatural. Fans of the genre will enjoy this story. I recommend it.

This is one of my all time favorite series of books ever! The characters are easy to love and have empathy for and the whole vibe is Supernatural, but also super unique and creepily wonderful!
