As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

This is the 1st book in the new series Lighthouse Security Investigations. We saw a glimpse of them in Searching Love and this book is our full introduction to them. This introduces us to Mace Hanover, the owner of the company, and Sylvie Gardner. Mace's focus has been on building up his company after leaving special forces. He doesn't think he has time for a relationship and he certainly doesn't plan on one. Sylvie is a single mom who works at a job she hates but keeps because it helps pay the bills to take care of her son. But while in her office her son witnesses a crime that no one will take seriously but her. And when things start happening and she keep's making reports, Mace comes across them and takes an interest. He decides to help her just by putting in a security system at first. But the more time he spends around her and her son, the more he realizes he is coming to care for them both. And when things start to escalate, he brings them in to protect them. No matter what he has to do.

I absolutely loved Mace. He has been through a lot but he still managed to stay true to himself and his belief's. And when he decides to start his own company, he pulls in people who believe the same way he does to help him. Sylvie is a true sweetheart. She loves her son and will do anything for him. And when he tells her he saw something, she knows he is telling the truth and stands up for him no matter what. I love that about her! Her little boy is adorable! After everything he has seen and not having a father around, he is sweet and just all around great. Reading about these two and the things they each go have been through just makes you love them more. And when the worse happens, they both know they can depends on each other to make sure they not only end up safe, but happy and healthy as well. A great start to this series!

Mace is book one in the Lighthouse Security Investigations series by Maryann Jordan. Former Special Forces and CIA Special Operations veteran Mace Hanover had a dream when he left the military to form a security company dedicated to protecting the vulnerable. Mace never thought he would find someone to love until he met single mom Sylvie Gardner and her son, David. This encounter changed everyone's life forever. Readers of Mace will continue to follow Mace and Sylvie as they discover what happens.

Maryann Jordan reminded me of the issues that single parents face when they need to work to pay the bills and how it affects their families. Additionally, upon reading this book, I began to recall the importance of childhood memories. I appreciate that Maryann Jordan chose to set the book's setting in the coastal areas of Maine, USA, rather than just in the cities. I engaged with this book from the first page and continued to the end. Luckily, it was the weekend.

I love Maryann Jordan's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine with each other throughout this book. Mace is well-written and researched by Maryann Jordan. I appreciate Maryann Jordan's description of the settings, which enabled me to envision myself as part of the book's plot.

I recommend this book.

Ah!! I love, love, LOVE this story!! Mace is the start of a new romantic suspense series centering around Lighthouse Security and Investigations group started by Mason Hanna. It completely checked off all the boxes for me... spunky heroine, cute kid, hot alpha hero, edge of the seat suspense, and swoony romance!

“I’m not some helpless, little woman, that you have to save… I’m a full-grown woman, who knows her mind and knows what she wants.”

Sylvie is a single mother working a dead end job just trying to give her young son, David the best life she can. When David witnesses a crime their lives are turned upside down and they must find safety and security.

“You’re larger-than-life, Mace. Gorgeous, strong, everything I would think a hero would be.”
He dipped his head so that he could stare into her eyes. “I’m no hero, Sylvie. I’m just a man.”
“Not to me. To me, you’re a hero. You’re my hero.”

I’ve read stories by this author before and I love her heroes, but here Ms. Jordan has taken all of the best qualities of the heroes of her previous books and combined them to make Mace my ultimate book boyfriend! Oh, Mace!! “To me, you’re a hero. You’re my hero.”

I was recently introduced to Maryann Jordan and the Lighthouse Security Investigations Series, when I read a short story called Levi from the Danger and Desire anthology, and frankly it left me intrigued to read more. And as Mace's story was first I thought I'd start with him and I'm glad I did, as Mace was a great read. That was well-written and nicely paced, and it had a nice amount of suspense/mystery in it. Although if I'm honest, I was expecting more in the way of action and thrills. But I really liked the characters, and the romance was incredibly engaging. Not to mention, I found the friendship and bond that Mace created with Sylvie's young son David very sweet. And I was engaged in the story from the start, and I continue to be intrigued enough by these characters to want to read more.

Would happily recommend.

Introduction to a new series

I have all the Saints Protection books by Ms. Jordan, which I have enjoyed (multiple times). I read the first Baytown Boys book, because the lead character in that book had been deftly introduced throughout the Saints series, his personality well exposed (and admirable). However, as with this new series, Lighthouse, the rest of the characters just seemed rather undeveloped or not very compelling (including the town/setting) so I have not gone further with Baytown.

In my view, as a “serial series” reader, this new set has too many people without enough personality development; too many first names without a tagline to remind the reader of who the heck they are, and how they relate to the action. The resolution of the crimes was like “wait-what happened?” And the hero’s journey didn’t grab me as much as Jack’s in the Saints series, who really had to struggle with his insta-love. Also, the heroine just seems kind of flat. So she puts up with a dreary job where she is demeaned in order to support her son; so she is distraught about his safety; but she basically just wrings her hands and continues to let others take the action as she stands by, wide-eyed and ineffectual, waiting to be rescued. The only real compelling reason for the hero to fall for her is “the electric shock” the first time he touches her. Her son, on the other hand, is better defined, as is the hero’s relationship to him.

Ms. Jordan is certainly prolific, but I hope she will bring more of the depth she achieved with Saints to Lighthouse and any of her future series-lines. It may take longer to write, but it will stay with a reader longer, too, like a perfectly prepared filet mignon dinner can be a life-memory, while a fast-food hamburger leaves your thoughts as soon as the wrapper hits the trash-can. She is capable of creating depth of character and originality of motivation; I hope she will resist the pressure to merely produce a product which will be reliably within the formula at whatever drive-through you go to.

#RomanticSuspense #SingleMom
4.5 STARS

Book one of the Lighthouse Security Investigations series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in third person from multiple POV.

Sylvie is a single mom who meets Mace after a very bad day becomes a worse week. Mace is the founder of a security and special ops organization. He is committed to rescuing those in need. When he sees the situation with Sylvie and her son, David, he jumps right in to help them.

Mace is a really good guy with a little bit of baggage. I really liked his character a lot. Sylvie is doing her very best to be a good mom while dealing with a less than desirable work situation and a crummy Ex. I loved her relationship with her son and how protective she is of him. I really appreciated that she could read and trust Mace early on. I love the heat between them, though it does take them a little while to give into it. I really adored the relationship Mace forms with David and how easily he falls for him. I also love the way he understands and communicates with David.

Elements of danger, steamy scenes, and some romance made this a wonderful read for me by this new-to-me author. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.

A great start to a new series

I’m a huge fan of this author and have loved all of her series but this one might go straight to my favorite. Maryann always writes strong and sweet heroes and heroines with twists that’ll have you turning those pages as fast as you can
Mace the owner of Lighthouse Security Investigation is a man who may be looking for more, loving his business and the land and lighthouse it’s on he’s missing something.
Elizabeth single mother to David is just living her life for her son, stuck in a job she hates but it pays the bills. All this changes when David witnesses a murder bringing Mace into their lives.
You’ll love the sweetness, hotness and through in suspense and alpha protective males and you’ve got a winner! Can’t wait for more of these guys!

Perfect story. Lots of suspense and I adored Mace and Sylvia. I’m generally squeamish when kids are written into suspense stories but it was well done and not too scary for either the child or the reader.

SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, Deltas, and AF Special Ops what more can you ask for.

It is sexy and sizzling, full of tension, suspense and a lot lot more.

Make sure you grab any of Maryann's books as they all intertwine with the characters.

Great Story!

I loved this book! What a great start to a series!

Mace has been alone but part of a team since he was born.

First it was his biological family and then his Military family and then the family he turned into a business out of that found military family.

He was content for years with that situation, until he LITERALLY ran into Sylvie. That sparked something in him and then they met again by chance because of something her son witnessed

That connection blossomed into love beautifully between them as a couple as well as Mace and David as father and son 🥰🥰🥰

This book isn’t terribly long (24 chapters) but it’s packed with a lot of action and drama and love!

I will definitely be reading more in the series at some point!

Blah

It’s just....kind of blah. I have all of the Saints and Alvarez series, and have enjoyed them all multiple times. This one, though, just didn’t have any spark to it. It was rather boring, really. The big bad guys were never fleshed out and didn’t ever feel like much of a true threat. The way it was wrapped up made me just go, “Really? That’s it?” Talk about anticlimactic! The actual threat at the end wasn’t even that threatening and felt like a rushed throw-away plot line. The h was a milksop. I just couldn’t get invested in this one.

Recensione a cura del blog “Libri Magnetici" by Emily

Libro consigliato.

Mace Hanover, former Special Forces and CIA Special Ops, runs a security and investigations company that hires the best of the best from all branches of the military and they have worked CIA special ops. This group is amazing and his company scans local police reports among other things for trouble.

Sylvie Gardner is almost late for work on day when she literally runs into Mace and his coffee cup. She gets coffee all over her and it ruins her shirt. Mace, ever the gentleman, gives her an extra shirt but doesn't give her his name and she sort of wishes he had as does he.

Fate intervenes when Mace comes across a police report about a young boy who witnesses something no 8 year old boy should see. Mace reads the report and marks it but doesn't pursue it until a couple of more reports from this first report come in. He does a bit of research and realizes he knows the single mom who filed the reports. Her ex was in Army training with Mace and didn't make it into Special Ops training. When Sylvie opens her door and sees the man who lent her the shirt at her door, well she just can't believe it.

Mace offers her his protection and that of his Keepers. He wants to keep she and her son safe. She is reluctant at first but as David, her son, appears to be in danger then she readily agrees.

Mace is strong and grew up knowing he wanted to be a protector like the lighthouse keepers that his grandpa told him stories about. He is tall, full of muscles, well trained and very protective. Sylvie and David bring all of that out in him but also he and David share a similar childhood and that draws Mace to his case. This just may be the most important case of his life.

I loved this story and was very taken with David, he is a bright and inquisitive young boy who has no male role models in his life. His mom Sylvie works a job that she hates and her boss doesn't seem to like single moms especially when David has to come to her office when he gets sick at school. She is a loving mother and she was dealt a bad hand with her ex. She is pretty and hardworking and she loves her soon tremendously.

Ms. Jordan writes wonderful stories full of strong sexy male heroes and strong women who need a bit of help but they are not weak women. I look forward to reading more about The Keepers and Horace and Marge, the caretakers of The Keepers. This is a wonderful new series and while I read Drew first I plan to read the rest in order.

‘The Lighthouse SI Keepers were men and women from the SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, Deltas, and AF Special Ops. All having been trained in CIA Special Ops, the Keepers were the best of the best and ready to take on any mission.’

Mace is the first book in the Lighthouse Security Investigations series by Maryann Jordan. This collection is a thrilling blend of romantic suspense, military action, and heartfelt human connection. Each book follows a member of the elite “Keepers” who are former SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces (and other top-tier operatives) who now work for Lighthouse Security, a private agency dedicated to protecting lives and uncovering the truth.
There is a great balance between high-stakes action and the (deep) emotional arcs. The missions are intense, with well-paced suspense and clever twists - but the real heart of each story lies in the relationships, and not just the romance between leads, but also the camaraderie among the team.
The settings are vivid, from coastal safehouses to international danger zones, and the author’s attention to tactical detail adds realism without bogging down the storyline/pace.
Each book can be read as a standalone - but in saying that, reading them in consecutive order will reward you with a richer understanding of the team’s (evolving) dynamics.
If you enjoy protective heroes, resilient heroines, and a mix of danger, loyalty, and love - then this series delivers consistently satisfying reads.
Happy Reading…

This book is like a feast to be savoured.

And like a feast it has all your favourites.....a great Alpha hero who even as a ten year old boy on the first page steals your heart, a beaten but not defeated feisty, sassy woman, a gorgeous bubbly, funny kid, a twisted plot, steamy sex, danger, intrigue, sweet loving and a whole team of Keepers to make you swoon - I really don't know what else you could ask for. Once again Maryann Jordan's new series explodes from the pages leaving you hungry for more.
However for the first time ever I was also disappointed, I have never known it before in any of Ms Jordan's books but there were a few typo's in here - nothing major, 'went' instead of 'when', etc. But it disrupts the flow, you have to go back and reread the sentence as it doesn't make sense. And this is why it is four not five stars, a little harsh you may think but having read all of Heroes at Heart, Saints P&I, Baytown Boys, Alvarez Security, Letters from Home, Love and Fairfield series I have not known any of them have simple mistakes like this in them, so this came as a surprise and a bit of a disappointment that the proofing and editing did not meet previous standards.
It hasn't stopped me pre-ordering the next in the series and didn't stop me loving this book and it's amazing cast of characters, I cannot wait for Rank to sweep us off our feet and into the Keeper's world once again.

Mace grew up hearing about pirates and heroic lighthouse keepers and knew he wanted to be as brave and protective as those heroes. Sylvie is a strong, independent woman, and, as a single mother, she’s raising her son, David, on her own. One morning they accidentally collide with each other, little knowing that their lives will become connected in the most unexpected of ways.

This is a wonderfully engaging tale of intrigue, drama, and romance. The action is fast paced, full of emotion, suspense and steamy passion. The characters are strong and interesting. At the beginning we get a unique look at Mace as a boy which illustrates his background to becoming the man he is now. It adds a level of depth to his character not usually seen. Sylvie and David become important to us as we see the close bond they have and empathize as she struggles to do what needs to be done to keep her son safe and secure.

An added element of enjoyment is the tie that is made into previous series. It is always a delight to hear of characters with whom you are already familiar. As this is a start of a new series, we are introduced to the members of the Lighthouse Security team for a taste of future stories yet to be told. I highly recommend this very enjoyable story and look forward to the next in this new series!

Mace, ex Special Forces, founded Lighthouse Security Investigations. The group consists of a variety of retired military men and women. They work behind the scenes and take cases mostly by invitation. When chatter indicates a single mom and son may be in need of their services, Mace considers taking on their case. Soon after accepting a new case, Mace realizes the single mom and her son's case are directly related.

Sylvie, a single mom whose sitters are not available, decides to take her son to work with her after the school calls saying he's sick. Her boss is looking for anything to fire her, so she tucks her son away in her office while she attends a meeting. While working, her son is witness to a murder. The police don't believe her son, but she knows he's telling the truth. Odd things start happening, but Sylvie doesn't have the means to enhance her security. Until Mace stops by....

What a great start to a new series! I enjoyed the drama, suspense, and Mace's connection to Sylvie's son. It was awesome to see such a positive role model interact, throw the ball, and just believe in her son. I loved the interactions between the various members of Lighthouse Security. The women are AWESOME! I can't wait for their stories to unravel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I purchased a copy of the the novel Mace: Lighthouse Security Investigations which is interconnected with the Saints Protection & Investigations series and also linked to the Alvarez Series whose lead members were all in the same Special Forces Team. All series were written by Maryann Jordan and this review was given freely.
A good introduction to the series of the 10 alpha male Keepers and their support staff. Vivid descriptions pepper a easy flowing story of suspense and murder combined a romance less steamily portrayed than in the other series but still with a happy ending. The story begins with two excerpts from Mace's youth which formed the foundation of Mace's strong protective personality and the location of LSI: the salty tales of pirates and lighthouse keepers as told to a 10 year old Mace by his grandfather and a 16 year old Mace's with a broken family and a love of exploring the lighthouse caves. 31 year old retired Special Forces and retired CIA operative Mace now owner of his grandfather's land, the neighboring converted lighthouse and its caves, reunites with a former army member's wife now single mom Sylvie when her son witnesses a murdered politician.

Dnf. Well written apart from a few mistakes, but so boring.

I’m so disappointed with this book as I was really enjoying reading it, but it drags on and on. The plot doesn’t even make sense. After Sylvie’s son David witnesses a murder, they report it to the police, who don’t take it seriously. When strange things start to happen, like Sylvie and David were followed, Mace of Lighthouse Security, takes their case on. The biggest threat to Sylvie and her son David was….. Someone breaking into her house and moving things in her wardrobe!! 😂😂😂😂😂 Wow! That’s so scary.

So a witness to a murder, is followed, and they move stuff in their house? If he was that big of a threat, they would have done far more than that. Then there’s the lacklustre Sylvie who I never really engaged with, as she’s boring. Mace isn’t much better. They have one kiss in 60% of the book and he regretted that as she’s a client. It’s hardly fast paced.

Sorry but it was extremely boring. I persevered as I hoped it would get better…. Gave up in the end. One more thing. I’m sure it said at the beginning of the book that David is 10. I could be wrong, then later on he’s 8.

Excellent Series “Spin-Off”!

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 1 of Ms. MaryAnn’s new series. If you haven’t read anything she’s written yet; I highly recommend you start with her Alvarez Security series, then move on to her Saints Protection series (which the last book of that series paves the way beautifully for this book).

What can I say other than Ms. MaryAnn pretty much ALWAYS nails it. The two main characters here are Sylvie & Mason (Mace). Mace is a retired Army Spec Ops guy who ended up working for (or with I suppose) the CIA. Sylvie’s little boy witnessed a murder while having a sick-day hanging out in mom’s office (as a single mom I know how that is!) Mace and his keepers (cool name) step in to protect Sylvie & her son. It’s a well written story & more believable than most. Not a lot of descriptors for Mace physically; but he’s a pretty great guy to love & protect a scared little boy.

I read this book in the Love Under Siege Anthology.

Once again a 'can't put it down' book from Maryann. I was enthralled from the very first page. Mace's grandfather, the house, the lighthouse, the history, I felt like I was there.

Then his company Lighthouse Security Investigations, I loved the way he found this latest case. It was intriguing the way he put the pieces together and found Sylvie and her son.

A favorite scene was when Mace meets with Sylvie after her son witnesses a murder from a distance. However, the police didn't find a body.

When they discover the body and who exactly was killed more security is needed. Mace sets them up in his grandfather's house, that is now his.

Things heat up very quickly in the case and Mace finds his attraction to Sylvie something he can't ignore.

I absolutely loved the slow build of this relationship which includes David.

Plenty of twists and turns, romance and some fun as well.

I look forward to the next book in this new series.

Wow Maryann has come up with another amazing story in this new series. Mace met Sylvie when he spilt coffee over her and offered her one of his clean shirts, Sylvie is a single mum to David and when he is ill at school Sylvie has to take David into the office where she works. While Sylvie was in a meeting David was looking out of the window and looked across the street where a murder was taking place even though at the time he just thought someone was getting hurt. Mace town's a security firm and heard about what has happened over the chatter and decided to investigate. Things then took a turn for the worst for Sylvie and David so Mace steps in to protect them and takes them to his home. Mace and Sylvie had an instant connection and chemistry. There are twists and turns to this story that you don't see coming. I definitely recommend this book as it is a great story by a great author.
Looking forward to the next book in this series

HEA romance

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers although there is reference to domestic abuse
There are a couple of editorial errors but they don't kill the book.
The plotline is quite engaging and well thought out although quite slow to start, but what really lets the book down is the characterisation.
It feels like a 'nice' read, as in despite the swearing every one is nice.
The darkness doesn't really come through at all which is no bad thing, but not what you expect from former Special Forces/CIA.
There are no individual personality types, every one is just very nice.
I got the feeling I could read this out loud at a tea party, and all the over eighties would approve.
It's a decent storyline and engaging enough to keep reading but I don't think I will be purchasing more by this author, the individual characterisation needs real work but the series offers potential.

An Outstanding Story .

I purchased this story for my collection of the author's books after I read an advanced readers copy of MACE . It's the first story in a new series LightHouse Security . I really enjoyed reading this story .
It's is a beautiful well written story . Has a very suspenseful and action packed storyline . The characters are fantastic .
If the rest of the series is this great which I have no doubt they will be .I cannot wait to read them . The author makes you feel like you right there with the characters and the lighthouse . As I read each story the main characters become my new favorite couple .So my favorite couple is Mace the sexy alpha man in charge and his strong brave beautiful love Sylvie . I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this fabulous story . I sure did .

New series

Mace by Maryann Jordan is a start to a new series...Lighthouse Security and Investigation. Mace is the leader of this group and if you are a fan of Maryann's we met him in Searching Love. Mace served with Jack from the Saints series and Tony from the Alvarez series. Mace is now heading his own group of super security men in this super secret liar.
A chance meeting has him crossing paths with Sylvie, single hard working mom. He is drawn to her. When Sylvie's son happens to witness a crime, Mace steps up to protect this mama bear and her cub.
Mace is on a race to solve a crime involving a high powered official and protect two people who are beoming everything to him.
This book is a great start to this new series and i cannot wait to see what else is in store for the future books

Mace

This is a refreshing story. Mace is the owned of Lighthouse Investigation and he monitors the local police and stumbles upon the case where a bit witnesses a murder. Since he is only 8 years old, the police are doubtful of his "story" but his mother believes him and so does Mace. Sylvie is a harried mother having to deal with a discriminating boss and an ex-husband who is always hitting her up for money yet wants nothing to do with his son. Mace falls for both mother and son and wants to protect them both. He is the first to fall of his group. The story was intriguing and the most drama was when the ex-husband hits Sylvie, knocking her out and then kidnapping his own son. Mace took care of the problem and the trio were able to move on to their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Maryann! I would recommend this book.
