Relentless: Book 2

Rate this book
They were the hottest band in town. Then one night turned their world upside down.

Now the clock is ticking.

Trapped on an island.

Hunted like animals.

Love and friendship are the only things keeping them alive, but for how much longer?

Horror awaits them at every turn. Death lingers in the shadows, and for these six friends, this will be the longest day of their lives.

Will they survive? Will they want to? Some things can’t be forgotten. Some things can’t be undone. Whatever happens to them, one thing’s for sure; today will be relentless.

I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.

I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.

In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

Great read

At first I wasn't too sure on this 2nd book of the series. As i thought stupidly that it was going to be the same As the 1st, but with a few changes in the set ups. But that's what you get for judging too quickly! The book has many different characters and the jungle/ forest concept is pretty much 're same but there is so m much more happening behind the scenes also, as well as the changes to trap etc. Loved Taz, she is a no holds barred kinda chic, going for what she believes to be true and her love for her friends quite beautiful. There are a few twists and you never know where things are going to progress or become dire. Again lots of blood and gore and some evil hunters. All in all it was a great read and I can't wait to see what happens next. Definitely recommend

A terror filled ride

What do you do when you have so much money that you have become bored with life? The answer to that and many more are found within this book if you are brave enough to read it. This book is intense and filled with heart racing moments. It was very well written with characters that come alive on the pages.

The first book was great and this book ramps up the action, brutality and feelings of tension. This character driven story has you praying that the women will raise to the challenge and become bad asses to survive this horror. Some great twists in there and make me want more and answers to some questions. I highly recommend this series and other Artinian books if you love the horror genre.

More bad ass women kicking ass and taking names! Book 2 is even better than the first one.
Kim Bretton is the best woman narrator working today!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Horror survival implies a lot of gruesome deaths, plenty of action and a little bit of hope for survival. Did this book meet those criteria? Definitely and then some!

I know that when I start reading/listening to a book by Christopher Artinian, I had better have a time block that matches the length of the book because once I start reading, I can't stop until the end.

I loved the beginning of the book with the description of the all female metal band, Psycho Slut Temple. I would love to see and hear this band in concert, especially their cover of "Comfortably Numb". As with the first book in this series, this group of women finds themselves hopelessly caught in a game of horrific dimensions. Without giving away too much of the story, if you have a phobia of a certain type of rodent, you might want to give this one a pass.

The fast paced action, take no prisoners attitude of the characters and descriptions of the gruesomeness of this "game" keep the reader's heart and blood pressure up as you follow the story. I liked the twist to this book and can't wait to see what might happen next.

Kim Bretton is one of my favorite narrators and her performance is amazing. Her voices are spot-on, her pacing is perfect and you can feel the terror building as you listen.

Another Good Book In My List Of Christopher Artinian's Books To Read.

Book #2 was definitely a good book in this set, but it just seemed much quicker to read than Book #1 did. I'm a big fan of Christopher Artinian and his books I've read so far, always have me ready for what comes next. This one did leave me wanting it to continue on for at least another 50 pages or so, but still it was worth reading. I'm giving it 5 Stars as the story with the characters in this book definitely made it enjoyable and they were very different from Book #1, which is always good as you don't get bored with the same type in previous books. So this another book of his that I definitely recommend and for anyone looking for some books in a series that aren't super long this set is for you. Now with Book #3 of the next in this Series available, I'm going to move right into that book and see if that differs greatly also, but with close to the same background as Number #1 and this one. I still loved the story and I'm very glad I decided to go with this set.

The second book in the "Relentless" series was as good as the first one. This book focused on six friends that were trapped on an island, but they were not sure how they got there. This story was about survival. There was constant action that kept one on the edge of one's seat. The tale kept my attention and the descriptions were harrowing. I recommend this series to others with the caveat that it is for mature audiences. Kim Bretton's narration was awesome. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Average

Once again I was disappointed with this. I am a huge fan of this author but this left me as cold as the first book in this series. It's nothing more than an average rehash of every other book in this genre. Nothing new at all.

Another great story

Very good story, easy to read, not to long which is just what i want sometimes especially after reading a big series. Would love these girls to turn up in safe haven, especially Taz. That would be so exciting.

Not quite as good as the first in my opinion, the new hunters aren't as interesting and I didn't feel like the characters were in as much peril as the characters from the first were. But there's some interesting events in this one and I'm going to read part 3 right away.

Great book, but once again I was unable to connect with the good characters. It was probably because their leader was a junkie. I'm surprised to say this, but I almost cheered for some of the villains. And the hunter who regretted murdering a girl made me regain some faith in humanity.

Thought this was just going to be a rehash of the 1st book

Glad I was wrong
I hope to see more in part 3
If there will be a part 3 that is
Don't want to spoil anything but if you read and enjoyed the 1st book you love this one

Just as good as book 1! Loved that we got a Bit of a backstory before the new group got abducted. This group was BADASS! #GirlPower LOL. I was happy with the outcome, and loved the “setup” for the final book in this series.

Not a bad book if I'm honest. The scene was set with the first one so no world building was required for this one. It revolves around a girl band called Psycho Slut Bitches or something like that, who get put into "The game". However, one of them is off her tits on coke and wakes up early and starts killing the organisers. There's not a huge story to it, but in the end they've killed most of the people on the island and get rescued by the coastguard. Then the niece of the mafia boss that runs it all gets kidnapped and the system hacked!

Relentless: Book 2 by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton is a great addition to the series. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, turns out I couldn’t put the book down. Recommend if you enjoyed the first book of the series, like the horror genre, or looking for a survival fight.

This is going to be short due to spoilers: Book two has similar elements as the first book, but not a carbon copy. A new group of folks who have been brought to the island and must fight their way to live or be hunted. It’s a lot of intense, in-your-face action and somewhat gruesome details. The ending is different from book one, that’s all I will say.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, does a wonderful job yet again bringing the characters to life along with great emotions and suspense.

As I’ve said before, while this story isn’t new, it is well-written and well-narrated. Def recommend if you like the horror genre (make sure to start from the beginning).

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: This is a story about survival- humans hunting humans, death, weapons, pretty detailed. If you are squeamish, this probably isn’t for you. Language used: Sx64, Fx167.

I loved this fast paced, pulse pounding instalment, I was hooked right from the start and was on the edge of my seat. Another group of Nothern lasses take on the 'game' and so unfolds another gruesome and blood soaked adventure where anything goes. Full of shocking plot twists, suspense and some diabolical pay backs, and a cliff hanger, I can't wait for book 3 to see whats next, (standing ovation for the rats - 'cos I'm not telling them they can't have one!) More amazing narration by Kim Bretton, as she makes the story leap off the page. I received this book in exchange for my honest review..

I beyond loved this book, better than the first which I also thought was great. In my opinion in most good horrors (film or book) you need someone to root for. Loved the characters, maybe because I'm a northern bird myself, I can relate to them and I was rooting hard for them. Nice to see female characters that stood up and fought back hard. Glad the ending was different from the first, I read it quickly then a few days later read it again. If you want a fast paced entertaining horror read, this is the book for you.

Really enjoyed this second book in the Relentless series. To me, it was much more satisfying than the first book, which was also great. I am not usually drawn to this genre, but as Christopher Artinian's previous books are all so excellent I knew they would be great reads - they certainly were. I love Christopher's style of writing, his characters are believable and fun. Looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Rats, Rats, and more rats!

This book was better than the first one. It seems the stories just keep getting better with each book. I highly recommend that if you have never read this author, then you are missing out on a great story teller and need to start reading his books. Also do not forget to leave your reviews! Another fantastic gore fest!

I thought the first book was bloody and brutal but this tops it by miles! Action packed and full of blood, gore and suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters and setting so well thought out and leaves the imagination working overtime! Well done Chris a fantastic second instalment
